    Pleiadians - IFO

IFO is a classic. 4 of the tracks are extremely good (1,2,5,6). The only thing it misses is some emotional sparkle, which only the track "Asterope" manages to create. The last track is ambient/chillout and not as well excecuted as the others. These guys need to rely on the energy of the pulsating beat to create something exciting. Nevertheless, the 4 fantastic tracks make up for the last track. 8/10 EDIT: I've changed my mind. Tracks 3 & 4 are not as obviously melodic as the ones i referred to as "extremely good". I now consider all tracks "extremely good" except the last one. So my new rating for this album is: 9/10
  3. As you can see, this album is divided into 4 parts, each with an intro/interlude and two real tracks, and all tracks are named after colours. That's quite a nice concept, and the 4 different parts actually have different styles. The first part is the best, with good atmosphere and nicely constructed melodies. The 2 middle parts are more acid and noisy, and the last part goes back to the more melodic side of it. The last track "Goldfish" contains a hidden track, some minutes of calm chillout music. So this track isn't really 13 minutes but rather 2 different tracks (there's even some seconds of silence between). Overall, this is not essential, but good, and the style is varied. 6/10.
  4. This is about the most aggressive goa trance ever... All i can picture in my head is demented people dancing their arses off... It imitates Pleiadians pretty competently, but the melodies fail to get memorable, and the songs sound too much like each other. Definately not easy digestable
  5. Ok i thought he was swedish (mostly 'cause of the name...)
  6. Okay then. Which nationality is the speaker of?
  7. He's Colin Bennun, a highly acclaimed psytrance producer who has had great influence on this scene! Btw, Mr OOOOOD, you speak in the middle of one track right? Why didn't you get interviewed instead?
  8. B.P.M.Pie is truly unique.
  9. I have another idea, it might be trashy, but why not shorten the tracks? Include the best part of them, or create, for example, a mix of 2 tracks playing for like 7 minutes. That way, you could have more songs in each show, but still room for talking.
  10. Yes, it's good
  11. I bought my first compilation in 2003, with full-on and progressive. Then i bought Astral Projection "Dancing Galaxy" and "The Lone Deranger" by Hallucinogen. I think that's when i got hooked. The boom for me, though, was in the beginning of last year, when i really took time to learn a lot about the genre, and listen to lots of it.
  12. You be d funny mannn!!!! Anyway, listenin' 2 dis now. The text is good, but the guy who talks seems a bit nervous.
  13. You can always expect the unexpected!
  14. He's Colin OOOD! He's da forum superstar mannn.
  15. As acid house/trance/techno/whatever has been spoken of in this thread i thought i might ask: Which are the best acid acts? I wanna do some exploring
  16. Sounds more melodic and deep than the other works of his minimal period.
  17. Go ninja!
  18. You could download if you are not moralist or audiophile. Many of the albums are out of print and rare anyway.
  19. Try the album "Supernature" by Medicine Drum. Totally dreamy stuff, a good mixture between tribal and cyber, trance, ambient and breakbeat. It doesn't sound very much like B.P.Empire, but it's very emotional and dreamy. It's got plenty of variation too, from Juno Reactor-ish tribal trance to goa to breakbeat to chillout...
  20. I wouldn't think so, but wait for Ukiro He knows
  21. Still just a bunch of tracks from here and there. Nothing unique.
  22. Check the album "Jurassic Shift" including the track Pteranodon. This album is pure magic, and the basslines are very memorable too. Lot's of guitar but also synths and atmospherich samples.
  23. I have: Goa 2003 Vol. 1 (2cd) Goa 2003 Vol. 2 (2cd) It's a great mix between prog and tasty full-on!
  24. Or maybe they're just post- mental hospital.
  25. Keep on digging through the like... 300 songs the ozrics have made They are GOOD! Have you heard the original Pteranodon for example?
