Gave it some very quick listen, I can see why one could term it idm'ish at times, but surely "psytrance" describes it much more accurately. Interesting though, will give it its chances laters.

On the contrary, I considered them maybe one of the best groups in the dark psychedelic trance genre ( BoftB asides..), with Psykovsky and CPC. What I am just saying is that maybe they too have saturated a bit. Their sound has tired me a bit. Of course they have around 15-20 tracks that are high to top . On a sidenote though, music listening highly depends on our mood & mindset so ...

yes, Ilkae, excellent music! One should definitely check Pistachio Island ( there is a concept and it is , play the tracks in random order aka shuffled and they still flow well). And their latest one "Light Industry" is also very good, heard it a few times. Murphythecat your over-enthusiasm combined with not so good language expressions make a slightly ridiculous impression ( Not talking only about your last post ,but the general image I have of you). But I do agree with you about the part of IDM usually having much more 'depth' than your typical psychill or other stuff ( if we are forced to quantify something here ) On topic, and how can we forget Near The Parenthesis ? One could put them more in the abstract ambient/glitch category, but the "idm'ish" label can easily be put on them without much hesitation. OOpie is that u on the avatar ?

I would choose dark psy over full too, but dark has become extremely formulaic and 'damn,it's the same again'. At least most of it, very few releases seem to stand out in one way or another.I mean, i even check some new Derango tracks on VA compilations and such, and they can't be compared to Tumult or tracks from around that period.

That was good. I read that it's by the creator of Mind Games too*, so gotta see that one too. EDIT* : I see on youtube it says Cat Soup is by h Tatsuo Sato while imdb says Mind Game is directed by Masaaki Yuasa damn youtuber's comment was misinformation.

It's just that from what I remembered in such discussions about the earliest goa trance many mentioned Juno Reactor or Planet BEN , but I rarely remember such early TIP releases getting mentioned. Lemmi you have a point, but this specific release is indeed goa and enjoyable too
