  1. Hehehe, that's pretty cool indeed. I've never ever seen the Orb perform live, but I'd love to. I'm pretty lost about all the formation changes and also as to who is the most influential member (apart from Doktor Alex) but I know there's quite some discussion going on. Any favorite songs by the way? I am also expecting deep and meaningful replies from at least Seraph and Astro Cortex. Bring em on and enlighten me!
  2. Damn, quite a lot of options to choose from... Personally I think Orblivion is my favorite one, closely followed by Adventures from the Ultraworld and sometimes Orbus Terrarum is the one. Or maybe Live 93? I picked the albums off the Official Orb Discography and I actually found some ones I hadn't heard of before. I have most albums until Cydonia, because I get the feeling that the newer ones aren't really worth it... But I could be wrong, as I haven't thoroughly listened to 'em. Please do correct me! Also; what are your favorite songs? I have quite a few, I must say, depending on my mood... here's a few: Little Fluddy Clouds Perpetual Dawn Ubiquity Bedouin Salt Toxygene Outlands Oobe Towers of Dub Anyhoo, this is the place to worship Dr. Patterson and all his cute little friends. Please do so!
  3. Hehehe, yup, excuse me! I realised that when you posted one of those pics in another thread. The OOOD pic seems really really live!
  4. Cheers dude, dunno why I didnt think of Isra. Maybe because I usually loathe it, but the Chillout section seems pretty chilled out indeed. Thanks again!
  5. Hey there, I was looking for a forum in which more Chillout is discussed, and ended up finding no forum at all, but I did find this page; http://www.sofaspace.ch/en/playlist Seems like a pretty good stream, eh? But still: I'm looking for a place where good psychedelic ambient, chillout, dub, whatever is discussed. Is there such a place?
  6. Hey, how much more live can it get than Hilight Tribe? Trance-wise I mean. That's LIVE! That's guys playing instruments all the way. Although I admit that Colin's pics of SUN Project also looked pretty live. Anyone seen EatStatic perform live? They sure rock!
  7. me thinks Hilight Tribe is about as live as it gets. Plus I think that Eat Static do a fair amount of live stuff as well.
  8. Best: Eat Static, Rinkadink, Shpongle Worst: by far 1200 mics. And maybe Infected Mushroom as well, but nothing was as horrible as 1200 mics. League of their own.
  9. hehehe, raja does indeed look silly, but doesn't he always? anyhoo: PIN PIN PINNPINPINPINPINPINPINPIN!!!!!
  10. FP: this is a true live performance, I'd love to see Shpongle do this. This doesn't really fit in with the rest of the crappy stuff... Where did that vid of IM in Mexico go? The point where Duvdev starts 'rapping' really fits in this thread. I think we oughta pin this, already. This is amazing.
  11. hahahahahahahahahahahahaha well, at least he doesn't pretend to be doing anything, hehehe. my god. [edit] double blink  @ those dali videos. damnerdeedamn damn. never heard this kinda music before, I must add. This is .......... (no words)
  12. Wow, their reply to you Jamez, it made no sense. They're making stuff more expensive because of UK prices (and the currency exchange rate, which would only go for albums coming out of great britain ...). And that's all for the label's sake? WTF FTW! Am I missing something? What do these prices have to do with albums coming out of other parts of the world? Doesnt make any sense to me... 1 question Jamez: did you download at Beatport because it's cheaper than buying cd's or vinyl? I agree with Antic that the original cd plus artwork also has some extra value, that's why I never got into downloading stuff...
  13. Well, that's what I responded to and the only thing I can comment on is the acts. I have no clue (but I can take a guess) who's more involved in the Shpongle project, but I can tell you what I thought about their performances and based on that I'd say the divergence in opinions as to who's better, is quite accurate... But nevermind, this was just my point. Feel free to disagree!
  14. Well, you asked a question: why is Posford God and Raja the Devil? My answer would be what I suggested above. Simon creates fat sets, while Raja doesnt at all (au contraire, mon ami). At least, that's my opinion. If you disagree, you suck.

    IDM

I always call it 'IDMbient' ... at least that's the folder's name. There's lost of names: maybe try Telefon Tel Aviv, Ulrich Schnauss, some of Squarepusher's, Autechre's and Aphex's songs count as well, maybe some Bola, Plaid, Wisp and whatnot...
  16. Did anyone listen to what I had to say? Don't forget that I am always right and that my opinion ought to be obeyed. Now Bow! Ok, just for comparison then: I've heard both Simon and Raja do a Shpongle-set and Simon's was just undeniably better. And no, I can't say that I'm a big Posh-ford fan but man, there was a huge difference, music-wise. Oh well, I'm just repeating myself.... Has anyone seen both do a Shpongle-set?
  17. ^ @Santo: I saw him three times at fullmoon, mind you. I saw Simon P. twice. I saw two Shpongle sets, one of which was totally amazing and one of those was utterly disappointing. You do the math. And I really, really cannot understand why someone would like that 1200 mics act. Boy, they sucked so hard. And yeah, that's arrogance from my side but I really don't care. I honestly believe my taste matters more! Summary: I don't care about Raja Ram. I don't like what he does, that's it. Not my cup a' tea and all that. Good luck to those that do.
  18. I am not biased, in the sense that I do not regard Simon Poopford as a God etcetera. I used to not think that. But then I saw two Shpongle sets. One in Turkey, performed by Simon @ Soulclipse. Man, was that the best act of the festival. Really amazing set, completely and utterly crowded, everybody dancing tripping and enjoying themselves. Such a magical moment that was, the songs were the same but different, they got mixed into one long spun out song; such beauty and emotion! We all thought it would've been excellent for the dancefloor at midnight. Our finnish neighbours said: "shpongle is whatever you (or it) want(s) it to be. Man, I was really amazed. Now Raja Ram. He did a Shpongle-set on Fullmoon... Boy did that suck. The man just put on different tricks and couldn't even mix those properly. To me he was really annoying, singing every sample and not even singing 'm correctly. Seriously, I ask you! I was disappointed Simon didn't do a set. I think I don't even wanna talk about 1200 mics, cause it was really too embarassing. And fuck everybody that disagrees and has a great time dancing to those lame themed and drugged sampled theme-shitty-trance. You all have a terrible taste and I'm NOT gonna IMHO that. Period. All they did was shout: "let's get high", "where's my acid", "let's all take some mescaline" (on top of the original sample and false too!!) and playback instruments we all could see but couldn't hear. An embarrassment, even to pop acts. And even though Hallucinogen isnt at all my favorite music: it sure rocked at noon in Turkey, just before the Eclipse. So. I agree with everybody that says Raja Ram is shit (but sure plays some nice flute, and also did a good job with TIP, waaaaaay way back) and that Simon rocks. It's just the truth. End of it.
  19. (yesterday) Banco de Gaia - Mafich Arabi.
  20. Eat Static - Gulf Breeze probably my most favoritest eat static song. such an amazing track this is!
  21. Finally my cds arrived! Very happy with 'em, at least they were in good shape. I'm very sorry for ITrecs but this experience with the greek post has made me lose a little confidence in ordering from Greece.
  22. I said: "Yaaaay." and also "Eat Static" thereby expressing my happiness considering the release of a new ES album. Which I like so much more than Nelly Furtado. So "Yay" for you, "Yay" for me and a special bigass "YAY" to Merv and Joey. Yay!
