  1. hey juril, thanks for your comment! I definitely had little free time in the past 2 years or so, work and life keeps me busy all the time. I am still making music, just not at my old pace, and there is a lot of unfinished material waiting to be finished. So yes, there will be something coming this year, I am thinking spring to summer.
  2. Hey guys, whats up! I have found a bit of time to cook a remix of Juno Reactor - Tempest for the competition hosted at bpmremix.com. You can still participate, but you have to be quick, 10th of Feb is the deadline I think. Anyway, here is what I came up with while joining forces with my buddy Xenofish. https://soundcloud.com/cybernetika/juno-reactor-tempest?in=bpmremixed/sets/juno-reactor_remix_competition I hope you enjoy! If you want to support us in this competition, spread the word, like the track, comment, subscribe, etc. Peace!
  3. Thanks for the review Trance2MoveYou. But no pictures? come on. Penzo, your comment has been noted, I can understand your thoughts on the mastering, it is indeed low in overall volume. I suppose the idea was to create more of a thick wall of sound with a lot of equal elements, not the most impact on individual elements. It is a different approach to mastering, trying to focus more on the ambience, less on impact and loudness. It's different, I would't necessarily say it's worse, but I'll leave that up to taste.
  4. I love it, it is very inspiring to see how you seamlessly cross genre borders with this mix. The mixing itself is also not bad at all. I can't say I wanted to skip any track (which is the case for most mixes). Really great job.
  5. Yes, its released, approaching 2000 downloads, not so bad after 2 days Thanks to everyone for checking it out and spreading the word! I'm really glad about the positive responses - constructive criticism as well I have to thank Basilisk for making the release on Ektoplazm happen, Stefan for the kickass artwork and Kri for the outstanding mastering!
  6. ah, this explains a lot. I hope he keeps his unique vibe in his future releases
  7. none yet i wasn't being 100% serious but its a very good name nonetheless
  8. Good selection of sounds and a crisp production! like it! you should indeed try to get copyright on the martian arts name
  9. I was really surprised to see that Toi Doi is back, and I was even more surprised that this guy picks up exactly the sound of his highlight (technologic) - I'd maybe like some more of the super climax leads he used on Technologic, but still, this free EP is a perfect example of trippy, darker Goa Trance and I am loving every second of it.
  10. The sound quality is not bad at all actually. If your ears tell you something sounds good thats usually a good start. Personally I think that some of the tracks are a little loud, especially when you add melodies, they get very heavy in the midrange. I am not too sure about the "ideal sound" for industrial though so don't take my impression as absolute.
  11. a bit hilarious video, but still I think the track is ok: one from Four Carry Nuts, Mechanical Age is still one of my all time favorite albums: more proof that Tim Schuldt is a master: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSu1D1nm1rk classic from Dark Soho: this one is more on the prog side, liking the atmosphere: you can try your luck with the Guitars on Mushroom compilation: http://www.discogs.com/Various-Guitars-On-Mushroom-2/release/335229
  12. Excellent! A slow descent into madness reminds me a lot of the Quake 3 Soundtrack by Trent Reznor. for the world is hollow... is similar, very good too. reality engine has a nice density of psychedelic noisy sounds. the hive reminds me of another one of my favorite soundtracks, the one from Emperor:Battle for Dune. the order of things starts off strong, but imo it becomes a little too full when the lead sets in at the end. the pink floyd cover is another original highlight. Great to see some creative and original industrial over here. What are you using to produce?
  13. Thanks for listening everyone, really appreciated. feeling very excited already, should not be too long until the release. Sorry, I was actually planning that, but unfortunately my dog ate the DVD with 5 hours of my Psy-Polka, so I had to quickly put together some lame DnB in a few hours as an emergency plan.
  14. Sounds great imo. Nice thick atmosphere and a very strong production. I agree however that you could get even more attention with a bit more original elements. You clearly have the talent and the knowledge, so yes, dare more
  15. There are not many of my mixes around, mainly because I'm not that good at mixing and I think I stopped it 3 years ago. I have also heard "game theory" I think, which was very nice for a video game nostalgic like me.
  16. Update: It's released! Thanks to Basilisk for making this happen! Download it for free in MP3/FLAC/WAV direct from Ektoplazm: http://www.ektoplazm.com/2011/cybernetika-colossus Enjoy!
  17. another banging mix mate! great choice of tunes, love it! On a side note, I did a mix a few years ago with half of that tracklist: http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?/topic/26282-new-psy-tekk-mix-cryogenics/
  18. I completely second Darshan, Semsis and Tim Schuldt, those are also very good suggestions imo. My main suggestion however would be the album "unstable" by Slide. It has the grittiness and punkish attitude. just check out these tracks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TZFVY3ZoOQ another BIG tip (no one seems to know him) is Jujouka, pure cyberpunk IMO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lidU21agWgc quirk also fits: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jp9Kdx9P_JM some old x-dream maybe? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuHe7ibXNYQ more random tips: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11uVmjvvb-w http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haoj9OXCIL0 (PSYBREAKS FUCK YES) Honestly I think that this is a vague question because only few tracks have an explicit cyberpunk theme - Most of the tracks I would label as cyberpunk simply evoke some kind of cyberpunk images in my mind. Dark Nebula - Scatterbrain -
  19. yet more: good old 90s acid tracks! Most of them are not labeled Goa but I can see a big connection between Acid Trance and early Goa - hope it fits what you are looking for. edit: 2 more (as links):
  20. This one is amazing: I'll see if I can find more later.
  21. yeah, the good old 90s. Here the whole techno wave was HUGE, and a lot of it was acid, or even Goa. Of course I didnt really realize it because I still was a kid, but even though I loved furious acidlines and hard kicks even at the age of 7, of course I couldnt differentiate between Goa, Trance, House, or the other genres. At that time, the line between these genres was still far more blurred than it is now anyway (imo). We had a music channel called Viva, and in the mid-90s when this stuff really was popular, they played electronic music almost nonstop, even Goa videos with psychedelic fractals (without labeling anything Goa, everything was just "Rave" to them it seems). exactly
  22. first of all, my favorite dark dubstep tune: Gravity - Nailbomb more tips... Mobthrow (on the industrial side) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iivA-Y2vrl8 Broken Note (brutal) Ghosthack (trippy-dark) More finds: if you search for deathstep, thats the unofficial genre name for those metal/industrial/dubstep fusions.
