Cabin Fever (7:40) 146 bpm 11. Trace Element (7:27) 146 bpm In an urban jungle under its shallow concrete ground a prehistoric tiger roams its dark scenery sneaking across the club floor with sensual moves, muscle built legs made for running and characterized by its long upper canine teeth ready to take a lethal grab of your dancing body. Sabretooth is Ben Frasers Full-Power-Punk-On project where he pushes the limits of an all ready abused music genre on how to groove the power in FullOn Dance Music. After 12 years playing the drums Ben Fraser decided to jump on the psychedelic trance fest and contribute with his own visions and since his first release on Planet Zogg Records in 2005, Ben has gone on to set-up Sabretooth Records. Ben Released his self titled debut album in 2008 and is in 2009 ready to give us his follow up Sabretooth 2 which is consistent of filthy, raw and acid-tinged sounds for the Punkadelic dance floor. – I have to admit that I’ve never heard his debut album and neither have I heard his Sabretooth Record releases. I got mixed emotions concerning Sabretooth 2. On one hand I like the punk-punched sound he brings to the table with a brutal drive and slick attitude, but on the other hand I would normally take tracks like these and diminish them as being chemically based FullOn music for the mad raving party goners. There are very few if any actual psychedelic elements in his sound and at times I feel bored of what he tries to provide, Punk-Trance. The tracks that did strike me as being the more psychedelic trance track with extremely clever hi-hat precision and trippy atmosphere is the first and second track. After that the album has a cool factor I could do without. In some tracks like the climax driving remake of Michael Jackson – Smooth Criminal, 05: Cruise Control, he manages to glow with an extremely pleasant drive, grind-making attitude and cool sample effects making the whole track fly in cruise control. And on 08: Scourge he gives us deep bouldering baselines in a down-tempo track that is on the brink to make me cum in my pants as It has grooves out of the square box and sounds that tickle your chakras. Admittedly when it comes to productions skills Ben is a talented person who tried hard to please and does so with variation. One of his successes is the tenth track where his overall sound gathered in one track makes the light shine in an otherwise dark tunnel. Tracks like Odin’s Raven got complex layers with some storytelling and gives an acid-trip feel like the sample proclaims and it got some swirls inside its sounds that manage to impress with a smile. Unfortunately most of the tracks begin promising with crazy slick effects and shocking baselines as they set their wheels on the elements, but always seem to lose the grip of my concentration and smiling mood as the tracks evolve with nagging synths and repeating grooves. Recommendation: If you like punkish FullOn trance music with an attitude where baselines are hefty and pumping without getting repeated in style, music which got limited realms to play on and growling guitars with some bleeps along its side ready to party hard and cool, this is for you. I don’t think Ben takes his Sabretooth as being a blood gorged Psychedelic trance project, but aims more to set the party straight with sweaty drives, howling guitars and acid sounds heard from the early 90’s. It all reeks of chemical reactions in your body while emotions flourish from your brainstems. Some of his melodies and sounds feels outdated and not something out of this world where galactic animals vegetate. Sabretooth is an extinct Tiger with brute force and admirable guts. Too bad the oversized tooth are only for display and does little if any use in a world dominated by natural selection. 4. Arsenic - Arithmetix (Manic Dragon Records) 2009 (MDREC-12) 01. Demon Resort 7:17 154bpm 02. Linear Parabolic 7:34 149bpm 03. Reakt to Noise 7:08 155bpm 04. Grain Cloud 6:55 153bpm 05. Triangle Device 7:29 146bpm 06. Unregulated Power 6:53 160bpm 07. Profundis Tenebarum 7:43 148bpm 08. Obscure the Dream 7:38 152bpm 09. Caelestia 6:15 160bpm 10. + + 6:52 148bpm 11. Welcome Back 6:46 149bpm Through spikes and needles we will walk, through hallucinations and noise we will speak and through madness we will listen. Arsenic has finally released his debut album, an album which is bound to take you through shifts and pitch with structured noise as its best companion. Released on Friday the 13th, it is a diabolical album that will twist your mind with smart moves and intelligent sounds. This album is all about moods and abstract journeys, and I think its key to tell you that in between its noise and abstracted audio appearance it has some of the most beautiful, funny and mind resting melodies you can imagine built into the whole experience. The man behind Arsenic, Fausto Emiliano Gianni Aka BON, from Italy, is credited with pushing forward the genres of trance music using modular synthesis and analog equipment together with new digital systems. And you can clearly hear that Mr. Gianni is a talented producer with many clever ideas in sound, temper and storytelling. I’ve heard few artists that can take you on such a massive brain journey in the playful sense that Arsenic is delivering. In one moment you are rushed down underground where corpses are rotting and demons are celebrating, when suddenly in a grinding fashion he will lighten the mood for you by raising you up to the clear sky with colorful abstract clouds! This is respectably, an exciting piece of musical art. The BPM’s are ranging from 146 to 160 and the variation aspects in each single track is extraordinary, it never gets boring and it seems the man is never out of ideas of how to surprise you and turn your whole existence into delightful confusion. The artwork by Quasga is a perfect representation of the music, how it sounds and what it feels like. So if you like the cover art, you will defiantly love the music inside. If I would be forced to compare this album to other artists, my mind would wander to the mixed musical realms of Infect Insect and Osom, but with its own distinct signature. In my honest opinion Arithmetix successfully manages to combine the noise factor and the high acid trance technology making it if nothing else, extremely interesting. Arsenic is a formidable demon telling a story, through music, of a great city of the future, Caelestia, brought into a world of darkness by scientists from Arithmetix Laboratories experimenting on the structure of atomic matter - experiments which went horribly wrong. One little girl was watching the sky as it flickered red and white - it was the end of Caelestia, but not the end of the girl - sound and energy enveloped her and penetrated her soul - she became the demon who returns to us now to tell her story. As a trivial note, this album is inspired by the movies of Akira Kurasawa and Hayao Miyazaki. Recomendation: This album will throw itself into the already popular night oriented style of high tempos, crazy pads, shifting beats, strange leads and mood confusing emotions yet it strikes as being original with strong feet to stand its own ground without copying other acts within the same dimension. Its weakness is its wearing effect of making your brain tired of the nagging and repeating sound theme that connects the album together to form the overall image and connection. Its strong and very positive sides are its power to surprise with a thousand melodies of magical moods scattered all over the album. It is the immense variations found inside the stories told that makes this album a must for all fans of ‘dark’ psychedelic trance music. It is unmistakably unusually great in amount and size. So be not in doubt, the album’s overall sound is a representation of the branch of pure mathematics dealing with the theory of numerical calculations, coated in poisonous metallic elements. It is as a white powered poisonous trioxide of arsenic. So if you’re up for a mind blowing album that will give you one hell of an emotional ride and make you exhausted, this is for you! Be aware, brown acid and this album might do you pleasurable harm leaving you bruised while smiling. 9. Brakkvann - Fear .. A norwegian farmer who tries to get released. Yeah, the boat is insiane. My warrior brother is planning on buying one
  10. Unfortually some people like a lot of water in it so the lemonade taste goes away. And sometimes they add chemicals that isn’t good for you. Skål!
  11. Too much water in your lemonade
  12. ^ Great idea ... Though, can you smell the consequences?
  13. Says the clown who digs Whigfield- Saturday night No, but for real. I think the album version of this track is somewhat of intense genius.. The old drive, the nostalgic feelings, the lyrics of mouth full of cactus. It’s all just very exciting! I agree that singing in our Psy-Trance is a big NO-NO and that the other lyric based track on the album where the track in question comes from; The First Day (Horizon) is PURE rubbish - Super stupid track. Mind you, on the Japanese version they removed this track, and rightly so. But this track, Serotonin Sunrise.. aahh, pure Bliss and smiles with a grinding fashion IMHO. Its sOpa dOpa koOl yo yo word opp.
  14. that would be killar!

  19. It’s been about a year since we last saw a release from the Norwegian ChillOut label Chill Tribe Records led by ChillOut DJ /reviewer (www.trance.net)/music collector PKS (Per Kristian Slagsvold). Finally, he’s out with his second release in the famous compilation series Relaxed – Last time we heard from CTR we got a more northern inspired chill-out compilation with many big names. This time the names are just as impressive but also warmer in style. Let’s take a dive into the sea of relaxed Journeys.. V/A – Relaxed Journeys (Chill Tribe records) 2006 (CTRCD02) 01 (8:28) Altitudes - Altitude II 02 (8:43) Nada - Earthgarden (Jong Remix) 03 (9:09) Adham Shaikh - Indu 04 (7:34) Digitalis - Noodles 05 (9:09) Jong - Unexplored Depths 06 (7:51) Makyo - Nothing Is Real (Sensual Mix) 07 (8:01) Solar Quest - Tokers Dream (Remix) 08 (8:22) EldarLife - Gone Gong 09 (4:00) Circular - Ambulo 10 (8:34) Saafi Brothers - Multiverse 1. Altitude – Altitude II (Co-up between the dream team Jaïa, Blue Planet Corporation and newly joined Silicon Sound) :: PKS leads us into a track filled with rumbling skittering noises followed by a surrounding atmosphere that will cover your Chakra with warmth and bliss. You are leaded by an exiting sample about destiny while a beautiful synth captures your attention and the beat slowly but lovely kicks in. Here we get the long awaited second Altitude track simply named Altitude II. It’s beautiful, harmonic and peaceful like floating in space while watching your face disappear. Altitude is still trippy and floating like their first release (Featured on CTR debut release Quality Relaxations), and you will get a pleasant guitar sample at the ending of this spacey chilled track. It’s a beautiful introduction to an album that promotes Relaxed Journeys. 2. Nada – Earthgarden (Jong Remix) :: is a track by the sweet melody producer Nada, remixed by the newfound talent Jong which will be presented later on this V/A. Once again dear Team Nada manages to put a smile on your face, feeling your negative energy being swept away by beautiful tumbling effects and twists. You are brought inside a Garden of Eden where peace and joy roams. This downbeat track got what it takes to make you feel like a bag of sugar with ultra sweet synths, beautiful vocals, whispering samples and strange effects. Surly a beautiful track with the heart placed just in the right spot! 3. Adham Shaikh – Indu :: Now, if there is one producer in this world who got a direct connection to it, the holy world, the world of no rules and every rule simultaneously - It is this man, no questions asked. The legend himself presents us here with what can be called the most interesting track on Relaxed Journeys. Here we get all the eastern influences we need with deep hypnotizing vocals and leads. This is a great tribute to the all might Hare Shiva! As always Adham presents us with mind dripping inducing psychedelic chill with tribal Hindu influences. Great drum work that will for sure stop time, space and room on your next holy trip. Super! Beautiful! Smooth! Scary..! 4. Digitalis – Noodles :: After a very inducing track by Adham Shaikh it’s time to wake up a bit. Feel the summer breeze and enjoy the more bouncy sides of life. Digitalis presents to us a more up-beat track with many scrounge sounds and effects taking you inside wonderland of colors and amazement. Here Digitalis gives us a sea bucket of drum works, twisted effects and moaning samples that is sure to create a strange world around you. As the track evolves you will stop to notice an extra ordinary feeling of something…. What this feeling is and represents is up to the listener. Not my personal cup of tea this feeling, to café like maybe? But objectively seen; A beautiful track that will show you wonders and deep thoughts inside your very own head. Good luck! 5. Jong – Unexplored Depths :: As presented earlier with a remix of Nada’s track Earthgarden, Jong hits you now with his own piece of art. It starts floatingly with an introduction sound while the drums and effects will fly around and over you from side to side - Really hypnotizing and beautiful. Jong, a young but experienced talent from France shows us his talents in spiritualized ChillOut. Best part for many will be when the French, or can I call it the Air elements jumps in at 02:30 minutes. This is for me where the track gets really interesting and weird adding many elements that will enhance your trip pleasure. You will also find many Hindu elements and fluids. All that is needed to enjoy this track is a smile and a pinch of amazement in your actions. Let yourself be told a story by Jong! What a journey! What a story! 6. Makyo – Nothing Is Real (Sensual Mix) :: is next, a track of oceanic feelings. You can feel the cold breeze coming in from the shore while the heavy downbeats and jumping synths play. After a small travel through a relaxed universe you will encounter a female voice telling you beautiful words and feelings. She will grab you and take you down inside your mind leaving you with a sense of stability and understanding. The beat will carry you back up again while it shows you how fun a mouthful of breath can be. This is defiantly a sensual mix made to caress your soul. But for me it seems a tad boring, nothing to really grab my attention. Not entirely my style of heart, but oh so beautiful it sounds while floating around me. 7. Solar Quest – Tokers Dream (Remix) :: Ah, the legend, the untitled ruler of acid techno of the 90’s! After a couple of more up-beat chill tracks by Jong and Makyo, Solar Quest brings us in to a world of sitars, trippy elements and beautiful vocals. Just the way we like and adore his creations! Here we are taken inside the world of peace, love and unity. Solar Quest brings us a truthful track of much wisdom and prophecy. If you adore sitars, come closer, close your eyes and fly inside his visions. If not, then push next –but hey, give it a flying chance. Either way it’s a respected artist with a respected track. On a side note, it must be one special experience to see a piece of art like this being performed live. Awesome track! Maybe a bit too much sitars for some, but hey, this is Indian spiritualism in its finest coat! 8. EldarLife – Gone Gong :: Away from the far east of Solar Quest, we find ourselves standing inside a Nordic vision, a track with hard falling spikes, strange atmospheres and deep and rough baselines. Here we are presented with a track from EldarLife who also has a saying in the great Norwegian Progressive Psy-Trance duo PhasePhour which also presented us with a nice downbeat track in the first series of Relaxed compiled by PKS. This time he went solo. I’m not entirely sure what mister Essen is trying to achieve or show us with this track. It’s a strange one, I’ll tell you that. It has many elements of instability and falling sounds. All I know is that I want very much to stand inside his creating moping at all that is passing me by. Good track – Unclear in message. 9. Circular – Ambulo :: Is an oldie when it comes to the ambient scene of the 90’s. If you’re fanatic about Biosphere (both Norwegians) you should be able to recognize this name. Circular gives us a heavy track, a strange and fluid place he is presenting us. Swishing sounds twirl by while echoes and sharp sounds make my body hair stand up. Circular presents a track that can be considered more of a creation and a thing then a music piece, well, its art. Circular displays you a special place with joy and play. Smiles and wonders. Peace and relaxations. Nothing is real, and real is nothing. What a strange trip .. For me this is a pause track since its only 4 minutes in length. None the less it’s a great track to raise your curiosity. 10. Saafi Brothers – Multiverse :: Last, but Oh not least we get a track by the well known Saafi Brothers. These brothers from other mothers present a mysteries piece with a floating but playful atmosphere. Stars glitter and space evolves as it takes it time to build and lead you on, it reveals a deep trembling base that will make the ground waggle like the sea itself. Here we get waves splashed up in your surroundings. Colorful, playful and hiding - What lurks in the deep sea is to be explored by you, the listener. This is a beautiful standstill track that ends another nice Relaxed Journey by ChillOut DJ, PKS. Sweet explorations of the mind! Overall I would have to say that I’m just as, or a tad more impressed by PKS’s compiling skills on his second compilation release on Chill Tribe Records. As one can easily hear this release contains a much more summer vibration of life and wisdom - A new era of human civilization. Where the first release Quality Relaxations was more cold and western (in a good way), this album is much warmer and eastern influenced all over. A BIG FAT bonus to PKS, because he needs to get BIG reconditions for what is the AWSOME booklet featured inside your new bought Relaxed Journeys. A big pile of respect to PKS and his small budget to include such a well informed booklet with pictures and goodies. If you enjoy life, and you enjoy psychedelic ChillOut music at its finest! Then do not hesitate, get yourself a copy, sit down, light up and enjoy! I would trust my trip in PKS’s hands any time, that’s for sure! Recommended! 22. Can anyone tell me what track is being played on this video from 02:30 and 04:20? Its crap but mywarrior brother wants to know. http://www.klikk.no/produkthjemmesider/vim...ticle362950.ece thanks
  23. When I buy toilet paper I often buy the less expensive poor quality ones. It’s healthier for my wallet and on the pack it reads 'Made of Recycled Paper'. As long as it wipes my ass clean without a rash I'm satisfied. What I'm saying is that for you (the label) and for me (the consumer) it shouldn't be so much more expensive. Who is the one to ,,blame" at the end of the line? For sure not Suntrip.
