Strange... some people love it, some people hate it gotta give it a listen.
-
...did they mention dates or something about the sompetition? and did Simon say anything interesting, cuz I missed the first part
-
I should take all the ©opyrights and register DeathTrance™, it seems to be a popular term As for 'Death/Metal/Satanic imagery' - u are talking about cover, right? Track names and evil vocals in tracks have been used for a long time now... but the name of a compilation and this cover have gone too far...

What music are you listening to right now?

Massive Attack - 100th Window not too bad, I'd say... this is their latest album (2003) but it seems to be very OK compared to Mezzanine, Protection and Blue Lines. I mean groups like this fuck it all up till their 3rd album.. different story here, imo. -
it isn't his country... but I don't support reger anyway... the same can be said about Skazi and neo fuflon ('fuflo' in russian means 'crap', so 'fuflon' is the funny word to name full on), but people don't accept this kind of shit, they resist it. Just like we do if we see such bullshit going on.

After first two listens I can't say this the best album in the World, but It was pretty much enjoyable! Maybe it will grow even more on me.

Did you take part in the competition? =) And how did you like the show? I haven't heard all of it, but I'm curious if there were any unreleased killlarghs from Simon the killargh?

The worst thing is that all these pics and comments are real. This is how psy-scene is like in Russia
-
Average stuff, imo. There are some nice tracks, but too few.
-
What about we all use the same format for reviews? We could make a pre-formated word document and use it!

The very first 'music' I remember was Queen and Pink Floyd, my father enjoyed them, so everytime there was a party at home these were played aloud When I was a child I always liked music no metter what it was... I was like 6 years old, we have just moved to a new house, my father was making repairment and all the stuff.. so every day I went to sleep listening to Enya, magical momets... this is something I will never forget Also Pet Shop Boys When I was 10 I liked DJ Bobo Ace of Base - that one was my favourite... can't really remember more Fun Factory or something... La Bouche... Headaway and all the mid 90's popular groups. For almost 5 years I was away from music, but @ 15 it struck me hard I began smoking youknowwhat so the door opened I liked propellerheads/prodigy/crystal method/chemical brothers at first.. soon my tastes moved to jungle, my god I remember that times DJ Hype was the man! Godlie... wow =) After 1 or 2 years I was fed up with dnb as it became tekknish bullshit and the only project I still enjoyed was Photek. He was great, but I quit dnb after he released Solaris album. I was very disappointed and began smoking more In my mid dnb days I was introduced to IDM / experimental electronica. People like Autechre, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher and Boards of Canada hugely influenced my life... so I began exploring more and more, I digged deeper and deeper. I my mid IDM days a friend of mine gave me a couple of albums of psychedelic trance, I coudn't understand that music It was annoying and I coudn't stand these 4/4. Boom-boom-boom... it sounded like techno and I didn't really like dance music. Later another friend... actually a brother that first guy gave me some progressive house... and I really liked that. So the clubbing days begun John Digweed and Sasha made my day (every day) back then... I tried xtc for the first time and the gate opened I also liked GU releases, especially Deep Dish. I liked to come home after school, smoke a joint and listen to some music - proggy stuff or IDM... so once I thought about listening to that strange psytrance So I pressed play and prepared everything... but after some 20 minutes I was like ... it effected me in some strange way. I was like high . This was the second I understood the power goa =) Shortly after I visited my first goa-party and it was awesome Fluoro-paintings, fluoro decos, strange people and powerful music. I have discovered goa in 2002 and it was a long time after golden age, at first I liked full on, but soon I understood old goatrance. I have seen people playing with dnb, house, techno and soon they leave this culture, but I have never seen anyone leave psychedelic culture =] So I'm here for good

Yes, reading higly subjective reviews (long ones) is very pleasurable indeed =] even more than objective ones, I'd say. However there is need for objective reviews, I can't agree with you... There is a small number of people able to write a nice subjective review, most do the following "Unrsld killargh psy killlllaargh!!!!1" or something like that. So you can't trust everyone - only the ones you know. What I don't like about reviews is that they are not objective... for example, I feel synthetic touch in some of the reviews of guys that get free promo CDs... it's like they receive a free CD so they have to make a positive review (or not a bashing one) so they will keep receiving CDs and are such nice guys... Also I'd like the rules to stricken reviewers for full lenght track-by-track ones... only!

Yeah, lets fight! Come on...

This year, imo, the best of proggy I heard are Jaia, Antix, Beat Bizarre, Sensient, Drone, Gaudium and Tegma... and if you throw away all the wanna-be-more-housy-projects Beat Bizarre's album is the one of few that doesn't sound too clubby/electro-like, instead these guys continue to evolve their unique sound. I'm very fed up with all housy stuff, so I hope there will be more albums like this one =]
