  1. To be fair you as many other people do not understand in what context he said it. The medias and Rothschild did a good job here twisting the meaning of his words and people do not want to understand what it was he actually said and meant. I am not going to write a huge step by step explanation from that press-conference as it's probably a waste of time to explain people that he is far from being a Nazi or sympathetic with Nazi's but just mark my words that it's totally taken out of context and it was a joke (served badly due to his nature and extremely bad English) - he said it was a joke many times during the press-conference and the reporters also laughed - related to that he for his first 32 years of his life thought his father was Jewish but at his mothers dead-bed he was told the father he knew was not his real father and that his biological father was of German decent. That's where the joke originated from simply because he was very sad he was no longer was of Jewish heritage (he was very proud of his Jewish heritage) and he joked many times to his friends and in public in Denmark that now he was a "Nazi" .And people got the joke He has apologized a million times yet the wolves are on him 24/7. I wonder what interest are served her - Hollywood Point is I find it absolutely double standard and hypocritical that we are not allowed to joke about Nazi's, Jewish people or criticize anything related to Israel (a huge taboo ) whereas it's all fine to mock and joke about all other religions and especially stigmatize Muslims in the west (in the name of "free speech").But the minute a person find something interesting related to Hitler (in his case the architecture and the way the Nazi's went overboard in their own power-trip) and joke with anything related to Hiler then the person is being labeled as a Nazi or antisemitic. Isn't it time to move on
  2. Stay and keep believing what you believe. People who take a personal offense when someone example criticize religion are oversensitive (Just look how the world call the danish director Lars Von Trier -. a danish left wing humanist - a Nazi because people do not want to listen to what it was he actually said. "Hollywood" got offended and the world followed their command) . I too find the religious symbols in this scene out of place. But each to his own.
  3. I would not know. I took it from the cave painting in the background. So I guess it's some sort of burnt umber
  4. I am very open-minded when it come to music (except for a few obvious genres I simply dislike - taste is taste). My point is that it's weird and IMO false marketing and a direct lie to label everything under the psytrance umbrella. If I go to a House party I expect to dance and listen to House music and I can assure you so does the rest of people at a House party. They would get into a full blown riot if the organizer lied to them. In the same way if I go to a psytrance party or festival (when the organizer promote it as a psytrance event) I expect to dance and listen to psytrance and not wannabe House Techno etc. I call it false marketing. Simple as that. Now if the organizers would call it "A Festival with multi genres such as House, Techno and Psytrance" then it would be a honest way of describing and selling the event. But then I am sure they would lose some of the psytrance customers who suddenly realize it's no longer a festival or party with psytrance and I know they wont be able to attack those who are into real the real house and techno scenes. Unless they start to book the big names from those scenes and then we kind of lost the whole idea of the psytrance scene and its existence
  5. The new Elysium website is online! http://www.elysiumworld.dk
  6. You are absolutely right. Simon invited Frank'e from KoxBox to go to Goa with him. All expenses and the ticket paid by Blue Room. I 100% understand why they decided to close down Blue Room Released. But maybe they should have fired Simon instead
  7. I also like to add that there was very little "weirdness" to Blue Room's releases. They released the big household names (Etnica, KoxBox, Juno Reactor etc.) and the music was far from being weird.
  8. I know what it means but I still think (and apparently I am not the only one) that it sound awful. And to me personally it sound like some Nazi SS name. As I said before there is no need to make new sub genres. Just call it Goatrance. And after all that is what the artist in mind want to sound like a anyways
  9. Because IMO "neo" is a horrible name that make me think about 2nd world war. I know it got nothing to do with 2bd world war but I can't help it
  10. I hope this was good old sarcasm If not: Give the guys a break. They do quite a good job here. Compare it to a few years back at Psynews they are far better mods in my book.
  11. Yes there is. The names you just used Remove that annoying "Neo" and "New" too. It's just Goatrance and Psytrance. No need to invent new sub genres here

  13. There are no need for labels these days so go ahead and make whatever you want to make without feeling restricted by a label persons personal taste (in many cases a huge reason to why music sound the same). Release it yourself and best of all release it for free. There are no sale in music these days anyway so you might as well benefit from the huge database of people out there who will start to follow you once you throw away the chains of being locked down to a label which in most cases does not know the first thing about selling and promotion your music the right way.
  14. I predict this to be yet another "best of - post a youtube song" kind of topic we have seen countless times. People it's not really a debate when all you do is posting a few youtube songs with a very brief description (no dept in the debate). Hardly anything to pin in this forum A real debate (Ormion got the point of the idea with this debate - walkabout seem to post 6 videos without really explaining anything beside a very brief remark about the first video) with good to the point opinions would be proven to hold much better ground IMO. I'll return with my 2 cents later when I got more time. I hope more will join in a real debate free from "best of" posts.
  15. This is the exact point where I feel most of you new (and just as many old established) artists goes 100% wrong. Point is there are no rules And it's exactly because artist follow these rules that they end up sounding like someone else. The biggest day for me as an artist was the day I realized it and started to write music without sticking to any rules and just go with whatever idea I had in mind (no matter if it would not be "approved" by the Djs, labels, organizers and scene in general).
  16. Haven't listened to them before and nope nothing groundbreaking there either. What I sincerely do not get it why some of you guys who love IM so much somehow (and correct me if I am wrong here) seem to need to justify (or debate) why you think they are so amazing. You dont Just like what you like and do not get so caught up in why someone like me do not think they are so special or amazing. Simple Let's move on
  17. I have never heard about "devil music". Is it something played in the catholic Church to keep off the dark forces?
  18. Music produced today would sound just as clean on vinyl as on CD or digital. Its got all to do with the fact it's produced digital and not analogue like in the past. Some of the warmth or deepness in the vinyl was of course due to the pressing technique of vinyl and mastering techniques but today's music produced with modern digital technology would not sound as warm as analogue produced music - even on vinyl.
  19. IMO the problem is also the labels. They seem to only want this kind of "copy Astral/Etnica" music. High energy fast BPM melodic hands in the air Goa. They do not seem go for experimental trippey deeper goa or acid for that matter. Or maybe there are no artists who know how to make it? Or maybe no one make it because the labels don't seem to want it? I also do not understand why they can not release it all under the same umbrella as there's no need for sub labels as someone suggested in this debate. It's all music
  20. The problem here is that both visine and Rotwang does not seem to acknowledge their own part of wrongdoing in the fight/debate and seem to continue their fight here. I had a fault too in the fight/debate and are not afraid to admit it even though I stand by my words regarding Tatsu (nothing personal just a fact). My fault was also that I did not ignored the few people who came running to speak on tatsu's behalf As for Rotwang it would suit you to acknowledge your part in the whole damn thing too. You are also a mod (does not mean you should not be able to express your opinion though) and by that have an obligation to set a good example. Read what Drophsila wrote. It makes sense As for visine... Give it a rest. You have just a big part in the debate and also an equal part in the reason why it went wrong. My 2 cents - and no one are perfect. Ces't La Vie !
  21. As a start stop using the name "Neo" in front of goa. Its sound like something out of the SS Nazi headquarters. Just use Goa...It's OK you have been granted permission to use it (joke) 2nd. Stop trying to sound like Astral and Etnica. Find your own sound. If it's hard stay longer in the studio before releasing your music. 3rd. Good luck
  22. I do not question most or that many people entering the scene around 1998 + see them as unique and that to them IM really are unique (Just as i thought and still think Depeche Mode was unique and groundbreaking whereas the older electronic music freaks thought i was nuts). And as I said it's perfect OK with me that people think IM is unique even though I do not agree But looking back at the people I hang out with (the ones setting the tone as DJs and artists at the time) I did not hear any of them mention IM as being unique or groundbreaking. I guess that's the point here. OK bed time for me. Have a great night all and really I enjoy this debate where we all debate our different opinions without fighting.
  23. I totally get what you mean but when I listen to music, analyze it and also judge it I look and listen beyond the production (which of course is also important but IMO not at all important enough to call someone groundbreaking). I listen to the way they composed and in this case also reused old proven and used techniques in the arrangement and I listened to the melodies, bass lines etc, and yes also the lead sounds used. And my concluding was and always will be that I heard nothing that could justify calling them groundbreaking or unique. As I said I heard a lot of copying in melodies, lead sounds etc, Groundbreaking and unique is to me someone who re-invent the wheel in music (and not many do that if any).
  24. Well nothing is wrong with my ears except for a mild tinnitus. I am stunned that you actually write this nonsense as taste indeed is taste and that I never said anyone of you are wrong in thinking the way you do. I merely express that I believe that the majority of IM fans base their opinion on the fact most of them (not all and I am not saying you) was not part of the scene prior to IM's release (some of them if not the majority probably got into the scene due to IM's release long after it was released after some of their friends recommended it as being the best "s**" ever - again based on that they did not have any knowledge about prior releases in this scene). Funny thing is I have never heard any of the artists or DJs I used to play with and work with mention IM as unique or groundbreaking. So a lot of IM's fans base their judgement on what they head first and that's all OK. But that does not mean something is wrong with my ears or that my opinion is less valid than yours.
  25. Again I totally disagree. When I listen to example their lead sounds I have heard those sounds many many times before. I recall that I got a promo of The Gathering (never used by me though and given away a long time ago) and told this was a groundbreaking release and listening to it I asked if they (BNE who I also released with a year before The Gathering was released) could pin-point to me where the groundbreaking aspects of the release was. They could not point it out to me which said it all to me No matter of what some people say I will never agree that this was groundbreaking, unique or a sound that had not been heard before. That does not mean I do not aknowledge that they had talent and that they were extremely good at what they did (especially when it came to promoting themselves with help from clever people at BNE/YoYo). But to call this groundbreaking and unique is an overstatement based on a hype. My point still remain that to the people who had no prior experience with the scene or the artists dating prior to IM (IM who introduced them to psychedelic trance) it would be considered a groundbreaking unique release as this was their first experience with psychedelic trance. Heck I thought Depeche Mode was groundbreaking but those heavily into pioneering electronic bands prior to Depeche Mode found them to be copycats
