  1. YES!! Darshan - Morphic Resonance for today
  2. I'm deeply touched by the contingent of psynews and its understanding of "regular trance" (in the best meaning of these words).
  3. This is great. Just great. Intensive non-stop psychedelic flow. One of the better releases I've heard to come this year and I mean it. Congratulations on the release. And once again, good luck in the future!
  4. Ka-Sol - Klibby Ka-Sol for the win. The guy produces authentic psychedelic trance music without flavour of full-on and other genres. Deep, groovy, incredibly hypnotic psytrance music.
  5. Highko vs. Chromatone – Double Milk Vaio

  7. Triac — Encrypted Session psytech in its best!
  8. great choice there. *thumbs up* --- Encens - Venus Zen / Dialogue (Exposure Mix) one of those far forgotten amazing oldschool acid goa projects. Wonderful tunes.

    Pleiadians - IFO

I don't have much to add, as these words would most definitely be already spoken. Still, I have a few unspoken words. There are, of course, some subjective factors determining the point on the scale of quality of something, but as soon as it comes to "Pleiadians - IFO", I'm confident, that subjectivity becomes extremely relative straight away. IFO is one of the best goa trance albums ever made, be it your style or not. Because it's genuine goa trance. It's the milestone in the genre. I'm personally not a fan of this type of goa, but it's just one of those exceptions which are being spoken about every time one mentions: "sure, there are few exceptions". That's the exception. Ten years anniversary since IFO saw the light first time. And yeah, Asterope is possibly my favourite goa track of all time. I dislike setting something in stone due to thorough relativity, that's why I'm obliged to insert "possibly". At least, it's just one of those tracks.
  11. Optica / Optic Eye "Feed Your Head", "Amberdelic Space" and other compilations. Basically, you might want to discover some stuff on good old (demised) Kinetix label.
  12. This album is a masterpiece of the genre. I don't know if there's something that could fit better to the name "darkpsy" than this album. Extremely tight production, serious approach and absolute breakthrough in the dark psychedelic trance genre.

To be fair, it does matter. While being a tool, it really works. My favourite BPM is between 155 and 175, preferably ~165. But that's about darkpsy. If you mean classic goa, then it doesn't really matter; 135-150 would be fully nice. And if it's classic progressive/uplifting trance, I don't mind about 126-140. I'm also a big fan of various chill stuff, be it classic chillout, psybient, dark or drone ambient. BPM in fact should not be a barrier for your preferences in music. There are different levels of perception of different music, of different ALL. All has its time and place in life occasionally. That's what I see as one of the integral parts of ultimate state of consciousness; be able to comprehend different music, to adapt to different circumstances, reach ultimate mental flexibility, since basically all "progressive", "uplifting", "goa", "psy", "darkpsy" and "ambient" genres have very solid common ground. Geniunly, this is intelligent music. All this musical matter is very similar to real life. In my country there's a wise statement: "the one who can't work hard will never can have a good rest". Polarity. Same with intelligent music. Once you reached the level of comprehension of hard music, you will have more pleasure from listening to easy and chilling music, than the one who limits oneself with a couple of neighbour subgenres or even a couple of artists. I can listen to both 180 BPM darkpsy and to mind-melting classical or new age music, such as "Gregorian - Join Me" and other beauties. I have awesome pleasure from listening to any of these genres. And at the same time, I'm able to reject primitive and weird music, like electro house (I consider the biggest disgrace to music in the history of humanity) or hardcore (which I don't consider as music for its abnormality). Develop yourself.
  14. I'm pretty confident that discovering quality ambient-nature music would take forever. You'd never know how many outstanding projects still out there; you would never know if you have already reached the ultimate point in your favourite music, or it's still there waiting until you discover it. And that's the great thing about underground music, since ambient, basically, is in a major part still relatively an underground division of music (I'm talking about real psychedelic/experimental/intelligent type of ambient, rather than of various kind of new age'ish and other orthodox publicly renowned projects, like Vangelis, etc). I'm personally currently looking for some dark nature ambient music. Quality material of this genre is relatively rare; I think I'd hardly be able to highlight even a couple of projects, as I haven't yet reached them, basically. Here's some interesting almost unknown amateur project I discovered while back: http://www.mikseri.net/artists/?id=18034 Most notable tracks for me are "Kaamos" and "...blabla..something... Kehto" (excuse my finnish ). It's just what I'm currently looking for in ambient music - deep, dark and intelligent sound; so discovering this project was like a revelation to me, like "here it is, finally!". Right now there's another underground project I'm badly missing: http://www.discogs.com/release/375059 http://www.discogs.com/release/861337 So called, Tugend. There's a note for the first album: "first edition limited to 100 copies. second edition released with different artwork cover.", which only adds more value and importance for such releases to have in your collection. A lot of interesting projects are underground. Discovering them is like fever - you never know what size of nugget you grab with your pickaxe. I love it.

you obviously got to wrong forum, didn't you?
  16. JOOF is a great trance label. And it would be pretty interesting to see what psy people say about it as it's usually being more discussed and appreciated among more commercial trance communities even though calling JOOF solely a commercial label would be a big inexcusable mistake. It wouldn't, however, be correct to call it a psy label either, since, as mentioned, it's just a trance label, where the emphasised word really reflects actual content. You would never find any commercial happy uplifting trance there as well as any collateral/incidental subgenres like electro-trance, housey pop-trance and so on. JOOF releases mostly genuine trance music, which, however, doesn't usually have much to do with psychedelic-nature trance subgenres. It's best described just as "quality trance label". The biggest artist highlights in my opinion are Steve Birch Whirloop The Digital Blonde J00F himself I personally recommend everyone to check out these artists, especially the bold ones. Most notable albums for me were 'Steve Birch - Aquarius' and 'Whirloop - A Fascination For Clouds'. First one does not fall under any known category; it's not psytrance, it's not progressive, morning, hard, full-on, uplifting or any other commonly recognized trance subgenre you may think of, it's just Trance. Whirloop's album implemented in morning progressive trance style, the true must-hear material. Other artists' styles vary from already mentioned progressive trance to various kinds of full-on psytrance. Formal classification doesn't matter much, though as it's mostly just quality trance.
  17. This is probably what I call "quality full-on". With all my hate towards generic full-on music, I can frankly recognize that this has been absolute bomb, confidently standing out against generic full-on background. It's not the usual astrix-skazi-IM rubbish oriented on superficial masses, it's absolutely another approach to the whole full-on subject. If there was a genre called "intelligent full-on", Prahlad would be one of the first in the row to fall under this category. Check it out unless you have done already.
  18. Darshan is my favourite goa project. And it's not "him", it's "they" - the duo, to be correct, consisting of Grant Collins & Mark Robinson. They had intense producing period, releasing EP after EP and two albums with very small interval. Their biggest years were 1997 and 1998. After that they had less and less output until demised completely in the late 90s / early 00s. Their most powerful tracks: Tranceformations Warped Dimension Digital Damage Navigator + whole 'Awakening' album, basically. Amazing project and very original one at that. Long memory and respect.
