I listen to some old goa / psy albums now and then, but I mostly compile releases by artists I like or a special feeling or sound in the music. I don't listen to Halluncinogen's album Twisted, I listen to his tracks from that era with the Twisted sound. I never listen to Spotify's AI generated playlist, I listen to my carefully curated playlists. đ I spend a lot of time digging through music and compiling playlists. I find the first Tarsis album to be mostly great, but their other albums are bland. This summer I listened to all their albums and compiled their good tracks (released after their debut) and now I have another great Tarsis album.

08/09 SHPONGLE - Codex 6 Premiere Party
Trolsk replied to Elixir Events's topic in Party Announcement
My memory says that his stage fright got worse and he didn't enjoy touring anymore, but a year or so later, he found an American girlfriend, and now he's back touring. Something like that. I believe there's a Facebook post or two, with the details. -
Can't argue with the above. Here are some additions TIP: Blue, Yellow, Orange, Phosphorescent, TIP Singles 1-3, Beyond Colour, Mu Clear Why Not: Destination Goa 2 Blue Room: Made on Earth Twisted: Demented

I don't think he emerged out of nowhere, and I didn't claim Klein Aber Doctor was his first attempt at making music. He was not an established goa trance artist back in the day. His (presumed) goa tracks were not on Destination Goa or Sun Trip (the two most popular Swedish goa trance compilations) or any other compilation. The tune you're referencing was released almost two decades after it was made. The first tunes he got released were all progressive tunes, and their were just excellent. I don't doubt goa trance had a huge influence on him, but 604 is still a weird album name since the tracks are not goa tracks and he is not known to have been a goa trance artist.

I seldom listen to (astral projection) albums. Since the dawn of digital music (be it mp3 or streaming) it's all about playlists. I've compiled my favorite tracks of theirs depending on the era / sound: goa: tracks up until Dancing Galaxy psy: tracks from Dancing Galaxy up until Goa Classics Remixed modern psy: Goa Classics remixed and onward I pretty much like everything they have released since Dance is the Answer, so I have high expectations for the new album.

Atmos as an individual might have started in the goa scene, but his early tracks doesn't reflect that. If anything, he was on of the leading names of the new era of progressive psytrance. His first release with Flying Rhino was Klein Aber Doctor (1999), it's not a goa trance tune, and goa trance was long dead by then, and FR had abandoned goa a long time ago, marked by their 1997 compilation Airborne. Sorry for the history lesson, I'm sure you're very familiar with this.

I don't quite get why the album is called 604. Atmos never was a goa artist and the album is not a goa album. Any theories?

Astral Projection - For All Mankind - 19 september
Trolsk replied to Trolsk's topic in General Psytrance
When we speculated, you went to the source. Thanks for looking into that. -
Innovation is something that happens when you're younger, so I don't expect much innovation, but hope for even more of the sound they made mastered and perfected over the years, and judging by the samples, we willl get just that. Many have tried to copy their sound, but none have come even close.

MFG and Electric Universe didn't produce "very good and a lot of tracks in late goa trance time" because you think Astral Projection are overrated? Makes sense.

Why does noone talk about Miranda Silvergreen?
Trolsk replied to Radish6404's topic in General Psytrance
Miranda tracks are featured on at least 75 compilations according to Discogs: https://www.discogs.com/artist/19682-Miranda?noanv=1&superFilter=Appearances&subFilter=Compilations For reference, Transwave are featured on 77 compilations, and your beloved Astral Projection: 177. -

Trolsk replied to Radish6404's topic in General Psytrance
Old school Miranda and Athena was great. You might find her track Mars Needs Women to be great, but it's not talked about at this forum because it's not a goa or psytrance track, it's a commercial trance track. Online Information by Electric Universe is a great and very well known track, many like it, and it's featured on many compilations. Miranda and Athena is very much appreciated at this forum: https://www.psynews.org/forums/topic/35418-miranda-phenomena/, but this forum is pretty much dead, and she hasn't released a great album since Phenomena back in 1996. -
Back in the day it was the anthem. You can argue about there being better tracks, but you can't argue with it's status as one of the most well known goa anthems.

Astral Projection - For All Mankind - 19 september
Trolsk replied to Trolsk's topic in General Psytrance
On the new album there's a track called Himalaya. The Himalaya's are also know as The Highest Mountain, which also is the name of their recent (2022) collaboration with Oforia. Maybe it's a second track made with Oforia. -

Agree. Makes you wonder why they didn't continue their collaboration with TIP Records. All their previous releases were with TIP: Goa Classics Remixed, Dance is the Answer and The Highest Mountain. The photo they use at Spotify feature Avi wearing a TIP Records t-shirt. -

That's awkward. đ It appeared in my Spotify release as a new release, didn't think twice to double check if it was already released. Lesson learned. Thought it sounded familiar. It's still a boring release 16 years later. đ

The Delta just released a new album called Minusman. There are a couple of good remixes: Nightmares & Dreamscapes (The Delta Remix), Midnight Circulator (The Delta Remix) and As A Child I Could Walk On The Ceiling (The Delta Remix). The rest is quite monotonous, not my cup of tea.

25 years but not going strong. I try to contribute regularly, but there are seldom any replies. We need to ramp up. Let's make 2025 a good year for psynews.

Now available @ Spotify and of course Bandcamp, for us non vinyl users. Those were the days!
