hey everybody,

 

ive been away from the psy trance scene for a while, and since ive been gone everything seems to have changed, or maybe its me? i was hoping some of you nice people could help recommend my some new stuff that i might like as much as the old goodies i remember.

 

 

I have just got the folllowing cds which i actually really like, but i don't want my whole psytrance collection to be quite so minimal/dull

 

AUDIOMATIC - UNDEFINED FREQUENCIES,

PRESSURE POINTS - is it just me or are these cheesier than paul van dyk? not even psytrance IMO

 

 

 

 

i think i know what i really want - full on psytrance WITHOUT the noise; i like the clear heavy beat of the progressive, if only it could be a touch faster with some of those cheesy sci fi voice samples thrown in. thats what i really really want. if this isn't a sub genre, then it bloody should be!

wow, thanks for the quick reply. i have checked out samples for both of them. not bad, but not quite up there with the ones i mentioned i don't think. not sure why though maybe they need to be more bouncy and spacey and fun and deep, less tinny and noisy. or maybe im too fussy for my own good?

Albums:

 

Freaked Frequency-FF syndrome. Not so "deep" But very "non noisy" fullon, with progressions and not the typical fullon bass

 

Bitmonx and Fabio-plugged. Was the album comming to my mind when listening to audiomatic. A little more progressive, but i think you'll like it

Samples are not always the best way to go... I think Oopie's recommendations are definitely up there Both are very solid releases, in the general psy-trance genre! But of course we all have different preferences!

Well, judging from the list of tracks that you say you like you are somewhat on my line anyway ... Auricular, Shiva Chandra, Magnetrixx ... that's what I like and would have recommended. You should get their albums though.

And since your nickname suggests that you know about the label Acid Casualties it's pointless to recommend this one aswell...

I really do beleive that alot of people found this uninspiring and boring (as stated in my review of the album), but I also think because of the bad hype around the artist and the album, alot of others didnt give it a fair chance and just jumped on the bandwagon and didnt like it.

If its progressive your after then I would once again recommend (as others have) Zenon records or artists such as Sensient, Cujurious One, and SunControlSpecies.
