  1. Traveller probably you didnt read correctly my post otherwise you would understand that i also mentioned that some countries allow the download of any kind of mp3's,its even in the passage you quoted mate By the way you said that many countries allow the download of any kind of mp3s,can you please mention ten countries for me,i only happen to know Finland just because you live there and you mention it many times hehe.
  2. Snowball like i said my friend was sentenced and his case was on couple newspapers like Kathimerini and Ethnos so there is no question if this case is true or not. And no he was not selling pirate cds, someone from his neighbourhood with whom he had a fight went and said to the authorities that the guy is downloading illegal software, games and music and two policemen along with a prosecutor knocked the guys door one Friday morning and arrest him after they found out mp3s in his computer and on some copied cds.No need to mention that they also took his pc and his cd collection as proof. As simple as that.
  3. Snowball my friend got sentenced in 8 months in prison and a 1300 euros fine so i dont know where you see anything hypothetical in that. His case was also on couple of newspapers when they arrested him.
  4. So CINOS i got to thank illegal downloading for most of the sales i am making? Why shouldnt i thank the artists that make good music and have build a reputation for themselves through time and various gigs all around the globe long time before illegal downloading existed? Why shouldnt i thank all the time and effort i am putting in the promotion of my label and my products through the internet, phone, private meetings, magazines, radio and more? Why shouldnt i thank the people who love this scene and music and prefer to buy original instead of downloading? Why shouldnt i thank my distributor for doing a great job and making available my products in most countries and internet shops possible? Why shouldnt i thank other labels that support me like i am supporting them? And most of all why shouldnt i thank Psyshop and Saikosounds and every other internet shop out there for making available up to 4 minutes demos on their websites which gives the option to people to check out a tune or a cd before buying it? Man you can always play with words and try to twist reality but the truth is out there and people can either choose to face it or ignore it on their own advantage. And please dont tell me that i dont loose money from illegal downloading because i didnt have them in the first place because you make me feel for you that you have never ever studied anything related with business management and marketing which i dont think is the case here. The only people who didnt have anything in the first place are these people who illegal download everyday music which labels and the artists working with them made available to them. By the way dear BAHAMUT the new European Constitution is changing every day concerning the matter of illegal downloading and copyrights trying to protect the artists and the music companies.I dont know how things worked so far in Netherlands or any other European country but in Greece i know from personal experience of a very close friend of mine that if they arrest you owning a copy of a music cd and you fail to prove that you have bought the original and you got it somewhere in your house then you end up in court and they sentence you to a small prison time or fine or both.Ofcourse like you said sharing or selling or trading any kind of downloaded or copied music is illegal in all around the world if i am not mistaken.
  5. Cinos mate are you out of your mind? Dont i loose sales if people instead of buying they download my cds? Even if out of 1000 people who download just 50 of them would buy my cd in case they couldnt download it then this is serious money for any label specially for smaller ones. Sorry man but you must find some better argument than that.
  6. Basilisk please spend a couple of minutes and read the following steps. A) Deedrah has his own studio with all original hardware equipment and programs. Deedrah wakes up one day and he starts a bright new track in his studio. C) After one week he finishes the track and he is happy about it. D) He then decides that he wants to sell this track to a compilation because it would be good promotion for his upcoming album in some months. E) Before selling the track he goes to Sacem and registers the track under his name. F) He then contacts me and sends me the track and asks me if i am interested in releasing it. G) I receive the track,i listen to it,i like it and i answer to Deedrah that i want to sign it for my label. H) I send to Deedrah a contract between him (he is a registered artist paying taxes) and my label Exposure Productions (also a registered company paying taxes) where i state that my Exposure Productions offers to Deedrah an XXX ammount of money for the WORLDWIDE EXCLUSIVE LICENSE OF HIS TRACK IN ALL KINDS OF FORMAT BOTH PHYSICAL AND DIGITAL FOR THE NEXT 5 YEARS. I) Deedrah reads the contract and accepts it so he signs it and returns it to me including an invoice for the money i payed him for the track. FROM THIS MOMENT THE RIGHTS OF THE TRACK BELONG TO EXPOSURE PRODUCTIONS AND I CAN DO WHATEVER I WISH WITH THE TRACK EVEN KEEP IT FOR MY SELF FOR THE NEXT 5 YEARS AND DONT GIVE IT TO ANYONE.EVEN THE ARTIST DOESNT HAVE THE RIGHT TO PASS IT ON TO ANYONE. J) I wake up one morning and decide to include the Deedrah track into a compilation along with some other tracks by other artists. K) I master all tracks,i prepare artwork and i send the whole thing to the printing factory so it can print me 2000 copies. L) SACEM comes to me and asks me to pay the mechanical rights for the Deedrah track since its a registered one,i do that and then i get my 2000 copies from the printing factory. M) The cd is ready,i give it to my distributor and he provides it to various shops all around the world and some internet shops as well. N) People now can buy the cd in either their local record shop or through the internet and from the psyshops there. If my label has also a contract with some digital distribution company like iTunes then they can also download the compilation from there for a certain price. FROM THIS SPECIFIC MOMENT ANYONE WHO DOWNLOADS MY COMPILATION FROM ANY P2P PROGRAM LIKE KAZAA OR SOULSEEK OR AN FTP SERVER OR WHATEVER IS ACTING ILLEGALY.ANYONE WHO HAS A COPY OF MY COMPILATION WITHOUT OWNING THE ORIGINAL DISC IS ACTING ILLEGALY AND CAN BE PROSECUTED BY EITHER ME OR SACEM ORGANISATION OR THE COUNTRY AUTHORITIES IF THIS COUNTRY DOESNT ALLOW FREE DOWNLOADING OF ANY KIND OF RELEASE WHICH IS THE MAJORITY OF COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD. Is everything clear now?Are there any questions around? The fact that most people dont feel like stealing when they actually steal doesnt mean anything and this claim cant stand in any court when someone accuses you for illegal downloading. And please dont tell me that people dont know what they are doing, they know very good that they steal what they download THEY JUST DONT CARE BECAUSE ITS NOT EASY TO GET CAUGHT AND BECAUSE ITS EASY TO STEAL BEHIND YOUR COMPUTER.
  7. My favorite tune is Land Of Freedom. By the way for you Trashish lovers there is already a new remix which is really great
  8. Cangrejo labels PAY the artists to get their music and release it so if you download the music from the net instead of buying it then this means that you steal the labels. Its not a matter of explanation but a matter of logic either you like it or not. So the artist creates his music and he decides whether to offer it for free to the people or not, from the moment he sells it to a label then this means that the rights of the track for a limited time belong to the label and noone else has the right to sell or give away for free this track to anyone. As simple as that.
  9. Goazzzz this is not a topic where we compare whats more important between a party and buying an original cd.I just putted some examples in my previous post to help you understand some things you might have missed. What we examine here is mp3 downloading, trading and sharing and how it affects the scene, artists, labels, people and everyone involved. You said in your previous post that you thought that the main idea was to support the artists and not the labels BUT i tried to explain to you that the artists are connected in many ways with their labels and by supporting a label you also support its artists. A label is an artist's house just in case you havent noticed it yet P.S And to answer your question between a good party and a good cd i prefer a good cd because i am a lonely guy and have more fun when i am alone that when i am with others, except ofcourse if the party was at the Playboy Mansion hehe.
  10. Goazzz the idea is not only to support the artists you love but also the labels that you like. People must understand that the role of the labels in this small scene is not just to release cds in order to make money for themselves.Because labels unlike artists are most of the times faceless people tend to ignore their significance which is a big mistake if you ask me.Everybody knows who Hallucinogen is but few people know who runs Twisted Records, everybody knows Raja Ram but few know who really runs TIP World,Youth is worldwidely known but he is not really active with Dragonfly and few know the people who run the label. Labels are as important in the scene as party organisers and promoters are too. Yes artists make the music and people enjoy the music but its labels that promote it and distribute it all around the globe plus its labels that give money to the artists for their music and support them financially in what they are doing and most of the times arrange gigs for them.By ignoring the labels you also hurt the artists in many ways and therefore the music itself. Yes there can be a party featuring just artists and the crowd but its the party organiser that arranges everything from the venue to the soundsystem and the security and its the party promoter that is responsible for how the flyer will look like and how the promotion will be done in order to achieve a good crowd for the party so that it can have a vibe. People with all the respect i think that you need to get a little educated on how things work on our small scene, its not bad noone knows everything and who knows you might get suprised while discovering new things.
  11. KTRANCE ofcourse not all of my software is original in my pc BUT ofcourse i never mentioned anywhere that ALL OF SOMEONES MUSIC has to or must be original I own original copy of Windows XP but i dont have an original copy of Soundforge which i happen to use maybe once a month or something. I own original copies for Final Fantasy and Pro Evolution Soccer games for my Playstation but i got couple of copied games too like Killer 7 which i recently copies and which i didnt like at all so i saved my money there. I own original copies for Football Manager and Heroes Of Might And Magic for my PC but i own many other games in copied format. The last one i copied was the latest part of the Civilization series by Sid Meier which doesnt worth all of its money if you ask me. I got a whole collection of original movies for my film collection but almost the other half of my collection are copies which i made from renting my movies from the local video store. I own more than 1000 original cds but i got also 150-200 copies. I dont say that people shouldnt download at all i am saying that there must be a BALANCE in everything we do.The ideal would be for each one of us to have enough money and would be able to buy anything we want in original but since that is not possible for most of the people then keeping a balance is the right thing to do. And in my humble opinion having 1500 albums in your hard disc and owning just 20 original copies is not what i call balance.
  12. SMITH i dont know in which world you are living mate but in my world there are some stupid people like me who own companies that are called LABELS.Seems like though that in your world there are just trancers, party promoters and artists, whats the name of that planet? Dear MONI indeed like you said each person has his own financial situation and that is totally accepted and respected,i mean i dont expect from someone living in Serbia or Russia to buy the same as someone living in Greece or Italy and ofcourse the same applies for Greeks and Italians who obviously have smaller buying ability than someone living in Scandinavian countries or USA or Japan.Ofcourse when someone living in Greece lets say and earns 700-800 euros a month and owns a 50 euro per month ADSL line and downloads all day like crazy and decides to spend his money on more coffee on sunny days, more drugs in parties, more money on getting new clothes every week then something is wrong there dont you think? And unfortunately thats the Greek reality and not only if you ask me.People just dont buy music not because they are short of cash but like i said before because they can download it instead of buying so this leaves them spare cash to invest on other things which are not vital to them but still they like them but cant download them so they pay for them. Also people shouldnt connect much paying an entrance fee to a party with buying an original cd,yes there is a connection but not always and even when the connection is there usually it isnt a very important one. The main question for you dear MONI though is not how much people are willing and are able to spend BUT HOW MUCH THEY NEED TO SPEND cause there are people out there (and thats the majority) who download 5-6 albums a day,i mean this is just ridiculus since i cant understand how people listen to all this music every day.I personally think that a normal person should be happy with something like 10-15 cds a month because like this he has time to evaluate them and appreciate them correctly. And if people bought 3-4 cds a month then this would be lovely for everyone and healthy for the scene if you ask me. And dear GNOME you dont need to be rich in order to buy couple a discs a month and spend 20-30 euros on them, like you dont have to be rich to spend 50 euro on coffees a month or even further 150 euros a month on drugs like the majority does
  13. Guys 8000 dollars is indeed a big sum of money but if someone spended this money in lets say 10 years for his whole music collection spectrum thats roughly 800 dollars a year which is 65-70 dollars a month which is the money one can spend on a monthly basis for either his cell phone account, cable tv,fast access internet, various hobbies, buying video games or whatever. I mean other people spend 100 euros a month to follow their favorite team wherever they play while other spend 50 euro for cable tv or other 60-70 euro for super duper fast internet connection. All the above are hobbies or interests and so its music but the thing is that u cant download cable tv or fast internet or the feeling of being into a football match but on the other side even though music is also a hobby or even a passion it is downloadable so thats why people dont spend their money on it.
  14. Euchkuh noone said that the guy spend 8000 dollars in one month or even a year for buying his music,i am preety sure that this is the result of someone collecting music for more than 6-7 years which is preety similar to my case also. By the way Cinos you said you got 1250 albums more or less in your Hard Disk, how many originals do you have mate?
  15. Yell the thing is that you cant download an Audi can you? Thats why i am saying that people download just because they can do it and i even claim sometimes that even if cds costed something like 5 euros each people again would download and would come and say 'Why should i spend 100 euros on music when i can buy a new T Shirt?'. Bloody human nature and mind...
  16. Vibrasphere are one of the most innovative and talented groups out there. Certainly one of my top acts of all time.
  17. Now i will see a person coming at Journey Man saying to him 'Come on man 4 minutes demo from saikosounds is not enough to judge a track'. LOL People will always download simply because they are able to do it and noone out there cant prevent them from that. As simple as that, its in the human nature to get something for free instead of buying it when we can do it,and please how many people download older releases? Most of them they are not interested even on the newly released ones, they want more and more of those unreleased killer tunes...
  18. Somebody offer this guy a contract at Chemical Crew so he gives us a break? Damn Israeli kids...
  19. The cd has been released since last week and you can find it on all major net shops like psyshop, saikosounds, chaos unlimited and beatspace plus ofcourse your local record store if they deal with good psy trance music
  20. Otto Matta actually when the GHE album was out i was one of the first people that bushed it out and even had a dissaggreement in private with Sandman about it,how big mistake of mine back then. Like you said the album aged really nicely and became one of my favorites ever, too bad Sandman doesnt consider a new one Now concerning Electric Universe i doubt that even Boris knows where he is going to release his new album, for sure not SpiritZone though since the label is officially closed. He will be in Athens next week and we will spend some days together and we shall speak more about his future plans and let you know, who knows you might get suprised from the news
  21. I was big fun of this music before 7-8 years so whoever needs to buy ANY cd dealing with it just let me know,i think i got the full collection from both Israel and Greece.
  22. I wasnt very big fan of Sandman's music but his Green House Effect project is for me one of the best projects ever appeared on the trance scene.I even liked the tune he released on Full On 7 compilation along with Xerox and Illumination if i am not mistaken. The guy surely knows his job but seems that after his lost time dissappearence wants to follow todays trends in order to built his name again. Lets wait and see, this is just the beggining after all.
  23. Nice work Moni I got to find and check out this Khetzal cd since i never heard them before, many people voted for him so its got to be little good at least.
  24. If it sounds like a blend of the latest Silicon Sound,Jaia,Ticon,Prometheus,Allaby artists then just let me know.
