  1. I did not put a review so I get some preaching around here. I find this PSYCHEDELIA if you might call it to be very boring and uninspiring. I didn't say it was music fault as you simply put it but that this artists and label gave us much better and quality music before and this is certainly not one of the better compilations or coolest and innovative from this label. Simple as that. Maybe I'll get another 4 posts about me being grumpy or whatever, I was just stating my opinion about the album and got highly intellectual answers.
  2. I can't call it psychedelic actually. Psychedelic music has some course, this has no course, it is just too random. Maybe it is in tastes, but the general thing is that this release is not psychedelic and I didn't hear 4/4 tracks. Every track here is different than another one. I quite like that kind of concept in general, but here, it just lacks lot of things to be psychedelic or trance for that matter.
  3. Trust In Trance Phonokol Flying Rhino Blue Room Dragonfly Transient TIP I can't name one, really...

You go to My Controls and then to Avatar settings. Then you upload whatever image you want from whatever folder you have them in. That is it....Newbie...
  5. PSY HARMONICS 4 - OUT ON THE FULL 1998 PSY HARMONICS 1. SINISTER ASSOCIATION - HOW DOES IT TASTE ? 2. TEXAS FAGGOT - STIFF NECK 3. THE VISITORS - NEVER KNOW 4. SHAOLIN WOODEN MEN - TRICKSTER 5. RIP VAN HIPPY - BROTHER LOVE AND THE CULT OF THE UNSTRAIGHT 6. ASSASIN DEVICE - THAT IS THERE 7. LO REZ - I HEAR IT IN MY GHOST 8. HIGHER SPIN STATES - HEINOUS GROOVE GLAND 9. ANTEDELUVIAN ROCKING HORSE - IT'S OK MOSQUITO I just dig this compilation out of the bottom of the pile, under which stood for reason. I mean, I know I heard it once, but even that once was quite enough. First, this is not a trance compilation. You could be disseived by it cause you expect trance collection of tunes considering it is under name Psy Harmonics best of compilation. I am for variety in music but this compilation just goes slightly over that line. I can't even define this collection of rather deviant, non sense tracks. Generally, I liked various Psy Harmonics releases, but this release is so weird that it just takes you nowhere actually. Mixture of twisted jazz, sick breakbeat and noisy non sense psychedelic electronica, this concept actually doesn't do anything but annoy. I somehow deliberately reviewed it because I mostly reviewed great or very good stuff and rarely average or bad. This compilation is just plain bad, have to say. Why on Earth they bothered putting something like this ? The only decent tracks are I HEAR IT IN MY GHOST and IT'S OK MOSQUITO. The Visitors track has some interesting ideas and parts but in fact gets too monotonous and minimal. The rest sound like randomly thrown twisted ideas without any course. I see that a lot of you guys simply worship australian and finnish artists with their weird psychadelia but they do tend to get a bit too much weird, at least for my taste...Unfortunately I can only give it 3/10
  6. Huh, it is always difficult to introduce this MASSIVE genre to the newcommers, but I'll give a try. You see, whole trance culture started developing at the very beginning of nineties. In the beginning, trance was purely based on bunch of samples arranged very simple but with some specific order that can put you in a trance. It was very energetic and simple but with point. Soon after that, people started to understand state of trance in more serious ways and started producing more artistically arranged ideas. So, 1993 was turning point for trance. It started to develop from simple arrangements to more complex, precise and emotional trance structures. Acid Trance was first artistic trance and it was enormosly popular back then and was highlight of every RAVE party. 1994 was definite beginning of GOA Trance. First labels started to rise : DRAGONFLY, FLYING RHINO, PHONOKOL, BLUE ROOM...leading trance labels for years. New compilations and first Goa albums were made back then, but the real expansion and maturement started in 1995. Heaps of new artists started to produce this wonderful music and so many pioneers of nowadays trance were at their beginners peak back then. 1996 and 1997 were the most creative, tasty, and musically most challenging for Goa and Psychedelic Trance. Lots of classics were made back then. Almost every artist and every album made sense and was made out of sheer excitement and whole spectar of new ideas and states people were in. 1998 was maybe the best year for big, epic, massive trance structures. Lot of crossovers and new genres started to develop back then. Even minimal psychedelic trance started to develop then. 1999 passed very energetic and goa genre progressed and production was never before so clean, crisp, polished and firm. Lot of artists developed their sound at its best. 2000 brought many newcommers, mostly interested in developing minimal and progressive trance. Goa genre started slowly dying and some of the last Goa albums were made back then among which was Dimension 5 - Second Phaze album, Ra - To Sirius, etc. Minimal and progressive started to be heavily produced and by 2001 we almost couldn't hear any Goa anymore. 2001 was year of experiments. Lot of pioneers decided to evolve their sound and made more 'intelligent' releases than emotional and exciting. That year was to me one of the worst for this genre cause there were heaps of evil, nasty stuff made then. 2002 brought Full on genre to its place in trance culture. The beats started to pump and whole genre started to be slightly hysterical. Hyperproduction started to develop and there were bunch of artists that were constantly producing thousands of songs for better trance parties. Whole evolving started to sound like devolving. Less and less creative ideas were there and there was more fillers than ever. 2003 continued with this trend and brought hundreds of new artists that were poping from all meridians in the world. In the year 2004, it seems that a lot of people were bored with hyperproductivity and it brought some new genres and crossovers we were waiting for a long time. Someone went to the roots and someone progressed the sounds even more. According to present state, it seems that 2005 will bring melodies back again and long waited excitement seems to knock on our doors of perception again. I truly hope that 2005 will be the best year for trance for this beginning of century. And now I can list you some of the music you might be interested in considering you like melodies and excitement: Astral Projection - Trust In Trance Message From God - The Prophecy California Sunshine - Trance Indoor - Progressive Trance Electric Universe - One Love Cosmosis - Cosmology Transwave - Helium Prana - Cyclone Shakta - Silicon Trip Etnica - Alien Protein Dimension 5 - Transdimensional Man With No Name - Moment Of Truth Green Nuns Of The Revolution - Rock Bitch Mafia Battle Of The Future Buddhas - Twin Sharkfins Pigs In Space - Artificial Pigs Agency X - Dream - We Created Our Own Happiness The Infinity Project - Feeling Very Weird Juno Reactor - Beyond The Infinite Total Eclipse - Violent Relaxation Colorbox - Train To Chroma City Message From God - New Kind Of World Chakra & Edi Mis - The Promised Land Cydonia - In Fear Of Red Planet UX - Ultimate Experience Astral Projection - Astral Files Power Source - Cosmic Waves Oforia - Delirious Chi-A.D. - Infinitism Miranda - Phenomena Tandu - Multimoods California Sunshine - Nasha Transwave - Phototropic Psygone - Optimystique Astral Projection - Dancing Galaxy Electric Universe - Stardiver Asia 2001 - Dreamland Boris Blenn - Paradise Connection Message From God - Project Genesis Astral Projection - Another World Lunar Asylum - Lunar Asylum Doof - Let's Turn On Jaia - Blue Energy and lots lots more... I hope I helped you a little bit...
  7. I finally got the album and I can say I totally agree with Lemmiwinks. It is way better than Nitrox and Chrome but I still miss dynamic progression and melodies as Lemmi. You can expect that just because they did finally changed their style and it is normal to expect it to be better. My favourites : AUTOMATIK ( nice track, has good sounds and melody but it still needs one or two more melodies to top it up ), EROS ( yeah, dreamy track, pretty good ), PLANET X ( reminds a little bit on old Etnica but it also lacks more melodies ), PHOTONIC ( it also resembles on old Etnica style, but I would also add more twists ), FADE ( very good downtempo track, it is one of the better ones on album )...6/10 My ratings for their music : THE JUGGLING ALCHEMIST UNDER THE BLACK LIGHT - 9/10 ALIEN PROTEIN - 10/10 EQUATOR - 9/10 NITROX - 5/10 CHROME - 3/10 SHARP - 6/10
  8. I go for hard techno too, but not that minimal as Chris Liebing is playing but more psychedelic one, with driving beats all the way. Unfortunately, I only listen to that music in the club or outside and have nothing at home... But there is of course good ol' drum'n'bass with high bpm. I simply love those psychotic tribal deviant patterns those producers are producing. Yeah, I forgot, best Techno group, especially live must be DEVILFISH...AMAZING ! Pure NRG, excitement, passion !
  9. Eternal Optimist, I am sorry to correct you but the real name of the track is The Dark Secrets Of The Manky Fudgepocket. I quite like the title of the last track from that album ( There's Nothing So Dated As The ) Yesterdays Future...
  10. No one said that everything is lost, the guy asked about goa/psy scene, and there are no goa/psy scene, that is all. I am for change, but the best would be to have all the genres functioning at the same time and not have age of this genre and now age of other genre. I am always talking only about not suppressing true spirit for some wild rhythms. People will always make wilderness, dark, demented, groovy music, I miss happiness, melodies, harmonies, goa crsipyness, bravery, epic structures. I know there are Filteria and Ypsilon 5 but they are the only 2 groups that make some kind of goa trance. That is what I am speaking. I like some progressive, minimal, even full on but there are way too many artists doing same things. I am for evolution, but evolution on all fronts.

    The Orb - Orblivion

This was good evolving, but it is pity cause they regressed after this album with Cydonia. I don't even want to review that album cause I find it too commerical and not psychedelic at all. I have no idea what happened to Paterson, he was really no bullshit guy...
  12. That would be the great idea Basilisk. But, somehow I don't mind not so good mastering cause a lot of old school releases sound right being slightly poor mastered cause of spiritual feel. I mean, it would definately sound great if you for example take brilliant Hallucinogen - Spike song from RTTS. That song is abolutely marvelous but the mastering is so poor you can barely hear melody. Same stands for Etnica's first album Juggeling Alchemist, great music, bad mastering and that album would sound great with liquid sounds...
  13. Yeah, I also thought Tranan - Cluedo cause it was in the beginning of the track, right ?
  14. Sick Bastard, it seems you are not that sick as you present yourself... I wasn't thinking anything extremely negative, I just have twisted taste about some music and I had people trying to convince me in agressive ways to like some music and that is why I probably sounded strict...But, you were right, I shouldn't just dismiss something if I have no afinities towards it. Best regards as well...
  15. I also think that it is going to be IM The Supervisor tour. When I heard them live, I was almost on the edge of leaving but I had to hear Psycho and Bust A Move, the only older songs they played then.
  16. Sick Bastard, I already mentioned in various topics what I like, I think that everyone on this site already knows that by now. But as I see that you felt offended by any means, I will write again, cause there is actually more music I LIKE than DISLIKE. I also thought at first that this topic is useless but when I saw how many replies it got and views then it must be some kind of interesting cause so many people won't response to it. Every one of us like and dislike music. I really dislike METAL music, it is my taste, no matter how quality it sounds to so many people. Britney Spears sounds great to millions of them, I personally wouldn't mind seeing her on the moving line from Pink Floyd The Wall meat machine. So, we can argue over small things and you persudaing me that I maybe COULD like DEATH metal but that is no point. As I specified, I don't like music that is propagating satanism, death, devil and rest of the boring evil shits. I believe that there are good musicians in such music, but I don't like their IDEOLOGY, simple as that. So, here is the music I like : TRANCE : Goa, Psychedelic, Acid, some Progressive, some Full On, AMBIENT : Ambient Trance, Dowentempo, Chill Out, Ethnic Ambient, TECHNO : Hard Techno, Deep Techno, CLASSICAL : Modern, Avant Guarde, ELECTRONICA : IDM, Ambient Electronica, Experimental, WORLD : Ethno, Ethereal, TRIP HOP, some ROCK, some HARD CORE, some PUNK but I am mostly focused on electronic or peaceful ( ambient, classical, ethereal ) music these days.
  17. Huh, what a shame you haven't heard the first part Grahf ! It is maybe even better than second one in some ways...get it !
  18. Yeah, Hacking The Reality Myth is demented comp, I actually reviewed it here, on the site, in Goa Reviews section and as I said then, I quite like this compilation and there are great songs : TINY LITTLE ENGINES, RAGU, CREATURES, ANCIENT SUNS, SHANGO but the rest didn't grab me that much. Still, that level of psychedelia was pretty high !
  19. First of all, GOA genre doesn't exist anymore. Goa trance was genre dominating from 1994 to 2000. After that we settled for some juicy psychadelia until 2002 when full on started and practically threw real psychedelic music on the side. Only few artists are producing real psychedelia these days. Full on entirely took over the scene and last 2 years we have more new commers that decided to make music one day and after 2-3 months of preparing and finding the stuff they released an album in no time, completely supressing real musicians in the shade and dominating on completely wrong levels. There is heaps and heaps of new comps, albums, labels every day practically. We can hear about new smashing, crispy releases every day where in fact most of it sounds bland and THE SAME as other 70 % of trance music. Only rarely someone old or new pop up with new, quality release. Now, it depends wheter you wanted to tell you who is new, what happend in the scene if you haven't been around...? Nothing much changed except that progressive trance progressed even more and went into housey realms and the beats and groove are much more sophisticated but the fact is that there is too much music that you can't even discover more quality music anymore from ultimate hyper production. Ambient is much more crisp and there are even some psychedelic comps. If you haven't been around for some time, here is what you missed in the mean time : FRACTAL GLIDER - PARASITE 2002 ALEINATED BUDDHA - INPSYDE 2002 SPACE CAT - POWER UP 2002 ALIEN PROJECT - AZTECHNO DREAM 2002 BAMBOO FOREST - RANDOM FUTURE 2002 ELECTRIC UNIVERSE - UNIFY 2002 HUMAN BLUE - ELECTRIC ROUNDABOUT 2002 SAIKO POD - PHUTURES AND OPTIONS 2002 PROCESS - SUPERIOR TECHNOLOGY 2002 LOGIC BOMB - UNLIMITED 2002 COSMA - NON STOP 2003 MENOG - NATURAL BEHAVIOUR 2003 WIZZY NOISE - ELECTRO THEATER 2003 FRACTAL GLIDER - DIGITAL MANDALA 2003 VIBRASPHERE - LIME STRUCTURE 2003 MAN WITH NO NAME - INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 2003 DARK NEBULA - THE 8TH SPHERE 2003 OTT - BLUMENKRAFT 2003 ZORBA - ZORBA 2003 SPACE CAT - MECHANICAL DREAM 2004 JUNO REACTOR - LABYRINTH 2004 FILTERIA - SKY INPUT 2004 WIZZY NOISE - STEREO ELECTRIC 2004 PROMETHEUS - ROBOT.O.CHAN 2004 and there are more, I just named few...
  20. DELERIUM - SPHERES 2 1994 DOSSIER 1. MORPHOLOGY 2. TRANSHUMANIST 3. SHOCKWAVE 4. DIMENSIONAL SPACE 5. HYPOXIA 6. OTHERWORLD 7. IN FOUR DIMENSIONS Here is the second part of their wonderful Spheres. It is closely tightened together cause they use similar sounds and soundscapes, but it is somehow different than first one. It is still spacey but with little more melodies and stronger beats. I can say that is more modern than first one. MORPHOLOGY is as the title suggest, very morphing and layered. It is very gentle and melodic, one of the better ones on album. TRANSHUMANIST explores less calm realms and reminds a lot on Synaesthesia structure. SHOCKWAVE is another great, morning song. It has 303 and somehow stronger kick. DIMENSIONAL SPACE is pretty short and it could have been longer cause it is very good. HYPOXIA is a stunning track. Very trippy and generic again filled with 303 sounds. OTHERWORLD is also short and sounds like trippy new age. Then comes the BEST song on album : IN FOUR DIMENSIONS ! Wow ! Easily one of the best Delerium songs, extremely melodic, melancholic, trippy, enchanting, positive and it lasts 12:30 minutes ! Absolutely wonderful ! This album also deserves 10/10
  21. DELERIUM - SPHERES 1994 DOSSIER 1. MONOLITH 2. TRANSMITTER 3. WAVELENGTH 4. COLONY 5. DARK MATTER 6. CLOUD BARRIER Here is the first ambient project by Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber, guys that stands behind FLA and SYNAESTHESIA. They made this project at the end of eighties but I won't review their first albums cause they are more in gothic/alternative ambience style than this and their second Spheres that are more psychedelic. And that is the reason why I am reviewing them. This album is with the second Spheres their best DELERIUM albums, at least for me, cause they changed style from dark, demonic ambient scapes as their first 4 albums : FACES, FORMS AND ILLUSIONS, MORPHEUS, STONE TOWER and SPIRITUAL ARCHIVES. I like all of their first four albums but they started producing psychedelic ambience with these two. MONOLITH is very long, beautiful beginning. It is very spacey with lots of 303 sounds. TRANSMITTER is another long, slow song that gradually builds up. Whole album has specific spacey feeling with lots of 303 making perfect psychedelic soundscapes. WAVELENGTH and COLONY are the best on album. They have some kind of epic structure especially COLONY. They used choir voices that I assume they borrowed from Vangelis music from 1492, but it doesn't matter cause they go perfect with this music and ideas. DARK MATTER is slower again and drifts smoothly inside your brain frequencies. CLOUD BARRIER is even more slow but beautiful ending. Another perfect release by this great musicians...10/10
  22. SYNAESTHESIA - EMBODY 1995 CLEOPATRA 1. OUTLANDS 2. ALIEN INTRUDER 3. NEW HORIZONS 4. DOOR TO THE OTHER SIDE 5. HEMISPHERE 6. SUBMERGED 7. FLOATATION Here is their first album from 1995 and it is pretty good ambient release. It is their first but third best album, even though they are all great albums, but Desideratum and Ephemeral are slightly better. This album explores nature and the twisted turns of nature. It is in the same mellow style as their other albums but it has some edge to it. It is slightly faster and more mystical. OUTLANDS is perfect oriental downtempo track with electro influences. ALIEN INTRUDER is FSOL alike track with faster beat and natural effects all around. NEW HORIZONS is best on album and it is very primal, enigmatic track that also resembles a lot on FSOL. Perfect ! DOOR TO THE OTHER SIDE is another dark track and pretty well constructed. It has twisted rhythm that drives you dementedly. Their usage of organic, natural pads is so professional, they really trip you out. HEMISPHERE is slower and more subversive. SUBMERGED is another electro influenced faster downbeat track. FLOATATION is great ending to this great album. Very dreamy, floaty and mesmerising album...Get it all along with their other releases, you won't regret...10/10
  23. Delerium is not that cheesy Grahf... This album is too good, better than Ephemeral just because it is double disc and all songs are great !
  24. SYNAESTHESIA - EPHEMERAL 1997 CLEOPATRA 1. NOMADS 2. WASTELAND 3. INTELLIGENCE DREAM 4. ENTROPY 5. NATURAL FORCES 6. NAKED SUN 7. DESCARTES Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber are famous duo that stands behind famous Front Line Assembly. Beside this wild, lunatic project they started their ambient project DELERIUM at the end of eighties, specified for gothic, gloomy ambience before they made this PERFECT AMBIENT project. All of their three albums : EMBODY, DESIDERATUM, EPHEMERAL are absolute milestones in music world. I already reviewed DESIDERATUM but there were no people interested in it which I found confusing cause it is one of the best ambient albums of all time. These guys really knows how to make music. They are very talented and you can see that they are professional musicians. This albums is last Synaesthesia album and their second best after Desideratum. All songs here are absolute perfection. NOMADS is stunning, mellow, dreamy track with lots of paradise sounds and you feel like you are travelling while listening. It is like a long journey you experience from the air, looking down on unreachable fields, enjoying sun in front of you. It is perfect track for resting after strong tripping. WASTELAND is another dreamy track, with oriental melodies that sensually penetrates your brain. INTELLIGENCE DREAM is another one best on album, long, trippy melody that stretches and spiritually invocates you. ENTROPY and NATURAL FORCES are a little bit faster and the style is developed into more downtempo. NAKED SUN is another oriental bliss with gentle melodies all around and DESCARTES is pretty good finish being gently structured and very calm. Sheer perfection...Get it if you like serious music that will embrace you and take care of you after hard tripping...10/10
