    To be honest, Forest from the few I know, is a bit annoying to define, I saw what Ormion wrote, and I also noticed you included Ka-Sol - Fairytale in the forest section, while indeed this album is really hybrid, some tracks in this album are actually pure Psy or Goa-Trance, if you listen to Matrix (remix) or The Light, they are totally different to Forest. But since Ka-Sol is a pioneer of Forest.... but the genre today is really different. So this is confusing. This category is annoying and could almost be separated between Old Forest and New Forest...
    You said KOB - Identity Mash is Forest Goa, that's why for me it's only Forest influenced, unless we open the borders of the genre. Forest as we know it today is far from Goa. ... I love that album anyway.  Good luck and keep it up!

    In my opinion, you should leave out every albums that are somehow hybrids of several genres. Don't forget your guide is aimed at beginners.

    That's why you should not include KOB - Identity Mash in the forest genre, the tracks you posted (especially Cousin It) have forest influences, but this album is not 100% forest. For me it's barely 20% or 30% forest at best. 

    It is better if you include only albums that are a perfect representation of the genre:
    Derango - Tumult 
    Dohm - From the dark poetry
    Shivattva - The tales of Harvia

    The same way I would not, for example, include Oforia if I want to define what pure Goa trance is, because his style was more robotic than Dimension 5 or Etnica. 

    This way your PDF (and future website) will be more accessible to beginners.

    The first album was very interesting, but this one is even better, especially the middle part. 
    Extremely creative psy-trance, the opposite of generic, there is a bit of everything in the tracks. A unique release, it deserved a bump!

    After Magus released last year, Fiery Dawn from Georgia delivers a second album, this time self-released. Very danceable material, the sound is very sunny with noticeable influence from Astral Projection (especially the Amen album).

    The opening track "Illusions of life" is melodic downtempo, the atmosphere is actually darkish but this dark side will not last too long. A very well executed opener.
    "Darkness & light" delivers an Astral Projection tribute, straight to the point with a solid melodic work.  "Inner motion" has a very nice structure, sadly I do not fancy these out of tune acid sounds, probably deliberate but a strange choice in my opinion.
    "Limitless" starts a little differently, more clubby and morning, but later unleashes delicious acid lines. "Signals from outer space" is similar but without the acid it sounds a little dull for me.
    "Cosmic soundforms" is enthusiastic and contains a sequence quite similar to Pleiadians - Alcyone, listen closely and you will know what I mean =) The second half is pure morning bliss with a few drums played in the background. Surely a favorite here.
    "Perihelion" is very reminiscent of eurotrance from the early 2000s, and also a track I would compare to Astral Projection (Infinite Justice), very pleasant party vibe all around.
    "Feelings" brings the acid again together with twirling melodies on a groovy bassline. 
    "Soul ocean" grabs the listener with a very heavy kickline, the atmosphere is very morning and even euphoric, pure trance, very refreshing stuff with inspiring key changes too. Brilliant melodic manipulation in this track, great drive, maybe the best production here and definitely a favorite if you are into melodic trance.
    "The abyss" delivers a style close to the opening track, a downtempo composition to end the journey on a relaxing note.

    Interesting album to say the least, more on the morning side of goa trance, with at least five strong tracks that I highly recommend (#1, #4, #6, #7 and #9). According to me, an improvement over Magus which was more psychedelic but also more generic. At the end of the day it is just a matter of taste.

    But on the first post of the topic, you say the track was played from 1:16... So it seems this is the track (the first minute was the end of Mandalavandalz - Irina)...

    @Ormionfrom Greece is a well known member of this forum, a Goa/Psy-trance lover but also a die hard fan of the South African style of the 2000s, Twisted System, Shift and co.
    I confess I never listened to Exelization's previous work but I was very excited to listen to this album. And without a doubt, the power of this release is undeniable. All those fast sounds, melodies and patterns on top of a rocking bassline and heavy kicks make this psy-trance very appealing. It isn't too predictable and the production is very sharp! 
    I enjoy tracks #2 and #3 the most, but there is no weak track in my opinion. It has great energy for the dance-floors, I commented earlier that it could have been released on Timecode Records a decade ago, but I find the overall sound less noisy than the few albums I remember from Timecode. It is no coincidence that Beyond The Black Lodge was released on Timewarp since it still has some dark goa ingredients, though most of the music is simply characterized as night time psy-trance.

    I was curious to listen to this release and I was not disappointed at all, and if you simply dig quality energetic well rounded psy-trance I can guarantee that you will not be either.

    Many on this board are familiar with these tracks, I personally was not. The hype surrounding this release made me a little scared that it would not live up to the hype, at least for my personal taste.
    But what I discovered was really my thing. The Old is Gold adage sounds overstated, however it often proves to be right, and with this album I can agree, these old tracks are wonderful, full of enthusiasm, full of energy. 
    The music is fast, acid, with risk-taking, it was compared to Green nuns of the revolution, I would also compare it to Cosmosis, it is more messy though, but extremely enjoyable and truly psychedelic. Superb material for dancefloors or home listening. The originality and harmonic quality of this release is not to be underestimated in my opinion.
    Another strong point is that the tracks sound distinct to each other, it is not too homogeneous, and the overall sound is audacious and has strong personality, 
    And in comparison with a lot of other goa artists in this era, Psylent Buddhi puts a lot of attention on the basslines. The basslines hit hard and are an important element of the tracks.
    If I had to find a weakness I would say the music sounds a bit messy and noisy at times, it's not a big deal though. Overall I cannot neglect the fantastic effort and high energy that sets the theme of this album. This is fantastic news for the scene to see this album finally released.

    Third album from Israeli psy-trance producer Maxim Galinov. 
    Hi-Tech is a strange style, it can sound off-putting, or childish but sometimes entertaining. Surprisingly, even though I am not in love with this style, I thought this album was easy to digest, probably because the tracks are not too long, only one really overtakes 7 minutes. It is very fast-paced from the second track and goes crazy from there. I mean above 160 BPM. It does sound formulaic,  but I thought tracks 2 to 5 were actually nice to listen to, of course if you don't take this music too seriously. Melodies however are quite rare, if not for some pads here and there. My attention dropped from track 6 but the ending track is slower and sounds more like typical commercial psy-trance and even contains some melodic sequences.
    The artist surely enjoys what he is doing, it sounds formulaic and simple though, has some of the ingredients we love to hate in the modern commercial psy-trance sound, but I would recommend the powerful tracks 2, 3, 4 and 5 (vocals in the intro are bad though), just for the experience.

    It is not bad at all. It is good party music.

    First, awesome cover from Ivan! Now I understand where the other guys on this thread are coming from. The thing is, the psy-trance and goa trance market has became saturated so we quickly have this feeling "I heard this many times before". There is also something about these tracks, the 16-notes melodies are tiresome after a while, in my opinion. That's not unique to this release, I personally feel the same about many other albums that includes too many of these short 16-notes melodies.
    I think tracks 1 and 2 are the best here, track 1 really contains a lovely rocking bassline, and track 2 has a superb energy together with many modern ingredients that makes the genre interesting to listen to.
    So overall not bad at all, even though there is definitely room for improvement.

    When I was a teenager, I started to listen to trance music, mainly discovering artists broadcast by some radio stations. My twin brother and me were just in love with any catchy and mysterious melody. We did not care about the structure of the tracks, the bassline, the kick, what is all around the melodies, it was all about melodies, the more melodies the better. 
    It's only after hitting 18 or 19 years old that we became more aware of what makes a great trance track.
    Infinite Mind is the 5th full length album from Somnesia. This artist loves melodic goa trance, his productions are all about melodies, if you need a melody fix just buy this one together with all his previous albums. Twirling sounds, emotional pads, acidic sequences one after another. Now, as a few reviewers have already said on this forum, the same issue I have is that it seriously lacks power. I am not a producer but it seems the basslines are too weak, the rhythms are simple, it just lacks energy. 

    The first 3 tracks are a perfect illustration of my opinion, very well made melodies but the music sounds soft. Interestingly, the first track that has a more memorable bassline is the collaboration with PharaOm. Then interestingly again, the track originally made by Asura and Aes Dana has a much more dynamic kickline. So overall I have mixed feelings about this album, I find the work on melodies very serious and enthusiastic, Somnesia's love for melodic goa is very genuine without a doubt. However, I wish there was more attention put on the rest, more focus on the overall energy of the music.
    I am still able to enjoy this release from time to time, and I have to say the ending track, emotional and deep, is excellent.

    Rating: 6/10.
