According to Discogs, Material Music was materialized in 1992 by Erland Yildiz, a pure live performance musician. A analog musical prodigy with his ethnicity from Turkey, Denmark & Norway.

I was asked if I could write a short review of this music, I happily accepted since I remembered listening to the original track and commented that this sound was similar in structure to some E-Mantra tracks, not the sound in itself (E-Mantra is pure goa while Material Music is IMO pure modern psytrance, some would say progressive goa) but storytelling wise I thought it shared some similarities.
As you could expect from a very long track, there are some repetitive parts in the first half, until the 8th minute when comes out a hypnotic melody, and the final part which starts at the 12th minute with pure goa synths. The track is actually not too complex, melodies abound but you have to be patient and hear how they develop one after the other. The bassline is in the same spirit as what I remember from Ovnimoon (even though I am not too familiar with his music).

Track 2 is a live version of almost 18 minutes, you can hear the crowd and all :) it was performed at MoonWeeD's Voice of Jupiter (Anjuna Records) album release party in Oslo, arranged by Love&Magic @ Vanguard on the 7th to the 8th of March in 2015.
The intro is spectacular, more interesting and psychedelic that the original version. At the 3rd minute already it becomes much more goa and melodic with what I would call a "snake" synth playing around. All in all we get a more creative sound here with more experiments. The second half is pretty much the same as the original but a little more twisted and with that same hypnotic E-Mantra sound in the last part. Obviously the sound quality is less good but that's how it goes with a live version. The outro unleashes a scary synth (pad) similar to what you can hear in some Ubar tmar albums :)

I won't comment much on track 3 since it is basically a short version of 6th minute. As always great job by Colin Bennun when it comes to mastering.
All in all, the sounds in this EP hook your brain, and just when you get into the groove of one sequence, in comes another one, the tracks progress toward this quite restrained but energetic psytrance.
I enjoyed it and will recommend you to have a listen on the following link and make your own opinion. You can support the artist here > https://kaliearth.bandcamp.com/album/love-magic-master-xxpsy-systems

@recursion loop yes, me too ... early 00's also was my "peak" concerning normal trance (however, I got lucky that I found psytrance relatively quickly afterwards. Whoever was the good soul over at TranceAcddict that pointed me here, I thank him/her to this day :D ) ... and yes, what is being called "trance" today has not much to do with the stuff back then anymore.

That guy could very well be me :D I was maybe the only guy there to point to Goa tracks on that forum, I was very active between 2002 to 2005, then got bored (username Laughing Fennec). Still have great memories of this forum, it's funny I logged back recently and the forum looks exactly the same, except that it is dead or almost dead.
I remember you were very much into uplifting trance when I posted Taucher - Is anybody out there (Talla 2XLC remix) on here ( I mean on Psynews) in the Other Electronic section and you commented on how much you love that track (epic build up, still unmatched to this day :P ).

    /offtopic

The Andromeda track is so weird exactly because of those lyrics that sound different and more normal in the Tiesto remix (overrated track by the way!).

  3. The 1200 mics track is weird, never thought I would hear that in a psytrance track :)

Of course there is the final melody of Hallucinogen - Jiggle of the Sphinx (ruins a nice track IMO)

I will post vocal samples if you don't mind, first track that comes to mind is Asura - Like a summer day

The sample is some politics talk about Iran, why?
Does not fit the music at all.

And a track totally ruined by the repetitive sample is Hunab Ku - Children Of The Stones

  4. New Born's album was full of fillers (in my humble opinion) but Universal bus was perhaps my favorites of all, together with Omen, two very nice tracks.

Also I was reading the first page of this topic. For darker Goa trance this track is sublime (released a few months ago):

    (Ufomatka - Extraterrestrial Intelligence)

  5. Graham & Serge - The Full Monty
I would pay fair amount of money for a clean version of this track. It sounds very dated, reminds me when I was downloading MP3 in 128kbps. Too bad because it has the potential to be an epic track.

  6. Hi folks. There was an album released a few years ago, if my memory is correct the artist was from Russia or Ukraine, and I am 90% sure it was available at Ektoplazm.
Many were saying the album sounded like Hallucinogen. I remember listening to it once and it was some kind of psytrance, mostly dark and indeed with Simon Posford influences. I am confident some of you know which album I am talking about. Thanks for the help.
