  2. Interesting discussion this one, and not an easy question to answer, but probably Juno Reactor.

Their skills together with musical ideas, and the fact that they were among the pioneers but constantly evolved with the desire to innovate... overall they are the most impressive and talented to me, if I have to give only 1 name anyway!

  3. California Sunshine ‎– Infinity

    Genre: Psytrance / Melodic Full-On

    California Sunshine Records

    2012

    1-The sound 9:31

    2-Back in time 10:07

    3-Come into my life 9:05

    4-Don't ask me why 8:35

    5-We like fluffy music 8:19

    6-Follow me 8:16

    7-Infinity 8:42

8-Down to the dead sea 7:52

    9-Buffalo Bill 7:28

Har-el Prussky and DJ Miko, originally a goa-trance project, took the path of full-on at the start of the 21th century, like many other Israeli artists did as well.

While melodic full-on is rarely my cup of tea, this album caught my attention. Obviously quite formulaic but more interesting melody-wise than most full-on. The style is more morning (less aggressive) than Rebirth released two years earlier.

Track name "We like fluffy music" sums up this album very well.

The production is superb, with an ending track, "Buffalo Bill", being the perfect combination between California Sunshine's emotional old school output and more recent productions.

    7/10. Recommended.

  4. Im looking forward to this, but damn, this has a potentional to fail so majestically. Also, I hope this wont be just a bundle of recycled tracks. As much as I liked his remix of Space Dwarfs, it was identical to the original in structure...

For some reason, I find most goa remix forgettable when it comes to remix already great tracks, unless it sounds radically different. It is funny because in my euro trance period (2000-2005) there were so many of my favorite tracks that were remixes (usually by Tiesto or A.van Burren). The reason is, these DJ identified weak tracks but with good melodic potential.

Maia, Alcyone... are classics, I hope the remixes will sound radically different.

Best goa remix I know is Lepton Head remixed by Deedrah, party due to the original that sounds so-so.

Another great one is Juno Reactor - Feel the universe (Koxbox remix).

  5. (I am 33 yo) did anyone else own this game at the beginning of the 90s?

It was an epic game. Really great at the time.

The music starting at 17:00 was absolutely great.

I saw on Youtube that they made a remake of the game this year in 2017. Unexpected :D

  6. This is an album I didn't manage to listen until the end.

This track (or IIRC there was two) with the sample 'We have to see we have to know' gave me a headache. Too noisy. For me this is not even psytrance anymore but more like hardcore, not my style.

I am happy I gave it another try almost three years later. I still find it hard to listen to it in one go but split it in two sessions of 4 tracks and this is pretty impressive.

Bodyhit and Transformator are my favorite tracks. About complaints on mastering, I actually think the improvement is neat over Battle of the future Buddhas earlier works.

This album is one of the most intense I have heard in the psytrance scene. Unique stuff that's for sure.

  7. I remember the first time I listened to this album, at Lyon airport before taking a very long flight to Australia, the situation is great memories (yeah never listened to anything from Asia 2001 before year 2011) I was stunned by the first tracks and how good and old school it sounded.

That being said, this album does not really stand the test of time for me.

Every time I play it, I enjoy the first three tracks a lot, then comes Kalimba , I was a big fan of this track and grew tired of it. And after Kalimba, there are 4 tracks that sounds more or less the same.

This album lose its magic after track 4 IMO. I should try playing it backward some day to see.
