My dreamteam for a compilation: Psynina doing a duet with Duvdev on the Autoune mic. And NHJO and Infected Erez shredding it on the keyboards.

On a serious note, it would be fun with a real compilation. However how many active users could we even bring to the project? It's probably dead on arrival. :D

We should open a new forum called Psy X-Factor, doing auditions for fame-seeking narcissists. I think people have deep-seated need for new deities, and we could cater to that need discovering new gods to be worshipped at the DJ altar.

Well in that case we have to get Avi Missim and Lior Swagmutter in on the project

I took your comment that "i suppose starting with the actual music would be better than thinking of names" to mean that we should start with tracks already out or at least make sure that there was a nucleus of a couple of good tracks to start with. I think it is a good point.

Aha I see. No I meant start from scratch :) by making some tunes. But perhaps THAt is what does not make sense atm 😋

Or perhaps it is best to work with tracks already out, as AstralProjection suggested above?

no i didnt suggest that... that wouldnt make much sense 🤨

The Secret Library of NHJO. Btw were is he? Our guiding light, I miss the days when he posted his epic webcam  virtuoso keyboard anthems. Those were the days, and when PsychedelicSuperbeast used to create some funny weird vibes here. 😄

Everybody retired from the Psynews scene, they got burned out.

hmm. i guess if we are not trying to take it seriously we should just give up before we start : p

I think that the title does count: if we have a concept to work with, then curation can begin. I like the idea of a dusty temple full of indecipherable relics, some memorial left behind by a long-vanished species.

yes, dusty old relics ala Stargate seems appropriate. the tracknames could be something like

Library of Alexandria - Book 3: Tome of ....

or Halls of Akashic Records - Item 2: Sphere/Stone/Gem of ....

or something similar. i mean, since we're going for cheese why not 😃

    @Parasphere

I am very familiar with the dead space games. Love them. But that thing/cult must have slipped my mind or slipped my playthroughs :)

anyway, something ancient and hidden seems like a cool theme.

"Halls of Amnesia" would be a great name...

or we can go even cheesier and call it something like " Akashic Records " (all hidden, forgotten and future/past knowledge) . or " Library of Alexandria " (knowledge that has been forgotten/deleted by time)

but maybe thats just too much damn cheese at once. i suppose starting with the actual music would be better than thinking of names - _ -

so, where/how do we start, whats the practicals here

  6. ^ well, the best "moment" is surely individual, and subjective. i dont think the question is that strange. its not the best "Track", its the best "moment".

maybe its the moment someone had on E or had dancing on sun up at a forest party somewhere, who knows. The amount of special moments ive had with gamma goblins 2 for example is just greater than any other moments ive had, such as the Spiritual Healing remix for example, or Dancing Galaxy. I think its a good question

do you REALLY have "too many best moments to count"? I seriously doubt that. you probably have many good ones, but the best? is that really so far out your reach to say? i dunno, just find that hard to believe personally

very cool sounds. how did you make the lead at 0:54 ? sound just like the trancespotter lead. the squareish bassline is nice and reminds me alot of MFG - peaceful relaxation. in fact i think its even the same key :) and very similar pattern. those octave jumps are delicious. only thing i dont quite feel is the kick but thats subjective.

the watery "snare", aswell as the hihats, are also on point. impressive stuff.

    "The awful truth." lol

Maybe you are right, that's why I'm making questions, I know it is not a proper track yet, it's more an exercise :)

yup i realise that. so just as i encouraged you to do, go back, and keep experimenting. Music making takes decades if one is learning from scratch.

@MikroMakroconstructive criticism is great when there is a good foundation, or at least some redeeming qualites. Yes, ones first tracks are usually horrible, best to keep them off the internet or maybe send to some friends at the most.

If my opinion rubs people the wrong way that is of course no problem, Im sure theres many here who dont agree with me at all.
