  1. Nice relaxing atmosphere, stomping bassline and rhythms, but the main melody is too "sweet" or "easy" for me. 6/10
  2. I can't understand the terms side A/B since it is a compact disc release, a 2 CDs one. It sounds like it's about a tape or a vinyl release. Anyway, in my personal view, this is a nice compilation. The first CD is covering the classic sound, a bit typical but nice, and the second one is covering the emerging (oldschool) progressive style, very nice too. There are other compilations alike or sort of like Dragonfly Classix II, Teleportation or Psyborganic Transmission, or plenty of releases compiling ambient as well.
  3. The first track i liked from the album along with the "pulse of life" from the excellent bonus mix. Thorough-crafted progressiveness combining various elements with an en-trancing floating melody (which keeps things in house) leading to a massive zenith. A/A
  4. Split personality, yes, could be another theory.
  5. For me this can be quite disturbing. Ok, the specific artist and album look like to be somewhere between industrial, extreme metal and psytrance and targeting for a neutral occult atmosphere. But for a more psychedelic or goa synthesis such or more targeted (politicized) references would be unsuited, could feel foreign and for sure regardless of side, lines and colors. Wouldn't such samples be spoiling for the feeling of the music and diminishing for its essence? For example, instead of a sample or a voice of a scientist, a visionary, a psychic, a poet, a guru would be politicians or whatever political messages. I think goa trance is a musical expression that has to do conceptually with images and themes like space, cosmology, futurism, exploration, mysteries, nature, science fiction & theories, intellect & consciousness and spirituality in general, like hinduism, mythologies, theologies etc.. Of course it would be deficient not to mention that this genre was born in and expresses a spirit of freedom. How much pleasant or tolerable such references and expressions in the musical synthesis could be? Can there be exceptions and of what kind?
  6. From one technoscape to another! Nice track with a catchy evolving backround, haunting atmosphere and unfolding sounds, steady unstoppable pace. B+ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGOrIPavDW0
  7. So, emotions or feelings have only to do with female nature .. ? Chill-out people with those theories ! The only one that can shed some light is the artist himself.
  8. Nice soundscapes, indeed, with stomping rhythms. Solid material. A/A If i had though to accompany the music with an image theme, that would be with something futuristic & adventurous. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTYRrt0iZgI Strange World indeed..
  9. I remember as well images of fat monks on elephants , but cases of buddhist sybaritism and monkish high-life must be contemptuous or illegal in these countries. More or less, buddhism has some certain elements of ascetism, or a general form, about simplicity, ahimsa, self restraint and cease of dependence. So it is an ascetism, or a way of being or living, and not only for monks or mystics. Eventhough buddhism has distinct branches, it isn't something like a schism or divisions as in western terms.

    Hakkah - Shaman

    1. The Call -07:56- 2. Shyvaya -06:52- 3. Incantation -09:02- 4. Tribes of Libalayera -09:40- 5. Meditation -06:32- Shaman looks like to be the most recent release of Hakkah, a project transmitting from the forests of Bordeux and lying hidden in the underground of psytrance since a few years. Pure goa trance with old school progressive and tribal feeling is the content of this extended maxi ep (or mini LP). The music is very evocative and well-produced, mostly midtempo yet powerful. If i can describe this with few words, it's chilling, deep, driving, tribal, colourfull & lightful in a sober manner. Listening to these wonderfull cuts makes the time disappear. If i can draw lines that would be for sure with the old school sound of X-Dream, and hints of Laughing Buddha, Moksha, Medicine Drum. One of the best releases of the last years and i wonder if it has gone unoticed or underrated. Unfortunately, this is only a web release and it deserves to be physically pressed for sure. Totally recommended. This was available through the Ektoplazm platform few months ago, but for some reason not anymore. --> Bandcamp
  11. More than the perception of sight, i'd like to point out the issue of awareness of the fact on where someone's standing on. The sense and the feeling of standing not only on a street, a building, a place, but on a star, a solar system, a galaxy.
  12. Try to spend some time under the night sky. "Hanging out" with the stars broadens your perception and it's quite relaxing, imho. For me, it's such bad luck, to live under a starless sky due to light pollution.
  13. Epic cut from the very first period. A/A
  14. I find myself wondering about this oftenly when i'm looking to the stars from the ground i'm standing and bring to my mind the vastness of space with the infinite of the celestial objects, the suns, the stars and the planets. That the place i'm living in and the ground i'm standing on is also a part of this whole «space», that this ground spins around a sun inside a solar system which lies inside a galaxy and that it's a quite tiny piece of it (lost in the perpetuity of time). The only thing that separates the ground from the the void is spheres of atmosphere that is layers of air. When i'm watching the fullmoon, i try to approach it with my mind, to measure the distance, to see the moon from a closer point, a closer distance. I also imagine to observe the night sky from other stars and see the starlight of the earth too. I see that the perception of «space» and the awareness of the position is mostly missed to a dimensional missconception. The misunderstanding is that the sky is being perceived as something like a dome (or a flat screen) with decorative lights· the moon is being seen as something like a big lamp and the stars as something like LED lighting. It's like living in a hollow earth, where inside is the whole universe, the whole creation, and where outside there's nothing or nothing happens, there's nothing serious or important, or there's nothing to see. . . . . P.S. So, someone might ask, is there any moral here? Any deeper meaning? Myths may have many levels and states of solid explanation and deeper understanding, and this observation may stand as an allegory of the platonic myth of the cave. So, the real exposure here, behind the dimensional missconception, is a worldview missconception.. ..The question (or the quest for) of the constant awareness of our position in «space» and full awareness of our existence.
  15. True, the kind of holywood cheesiness "all hunanity unities under the american flag" doesn't fit here, still knowing that the scenery & the plot is post-apocalyptic dealing with barbarization, i can't understand what this movie has to offer except from what i assume as "cult figures", bombastic effects and tight suspense, elements we have experienced in classics like Blade Runner, Terminator 2, Alien Trilogy, The Predator, Matrix Trilogy, Batman Begins etc. But as said before, maybe i can't criticise more since i'm not good knower of the series.
  16. Unfortunately, this is another episode to the jihadozombies drama the middle-east is suffering. Although, few days ago the ISIL groups retreated from the area under the heavy fire of the Syrian forces, later huge re-enforcements gave them the advantage to advance and seize the area of Palmyra including both the modern and the ancient city. Again, the western coalition was absent from this theater of operations. I'm afraid that it is a matter of hours to become again witnesses to another cruel destruction of monuments of great cultural and historical importance, after of course the excessive massacres that have already taken place.
