  1. Ishkur's guide is one of those names that when posted in forums usually ends up as a flame war.. well that's on other forums at least. Seems some people agree with his view of points, some don't. Some like his site, some hate him. I don't think it's a bad site. But I haven't visited in ages really.
  2. If you can't understand the meaning behind the message then there's nothing I can do to help you. So stop the meaningless fine print discussion, it only gets unfriendly
  3. Well you can allways offer someone a peace of cake they never tried before. He or she might like it, he or she might not. But comparing cake to pizza, that's 2 of a kind! Pizza might give you that similar feeling of joy, but that doesn't mean it 'beats' cake.
  4. Well guess what, universally they don't. It's a matter of personal taste. One man's trash is another man's gold. And vice versa.
  5. That's actually not a bad idea. I totally spoiled some good ambient music, just because I overlistened it. Maybe it has to do with the fact that it's lowtempo and that there are not that many changes hapenning throughout an ambient track. But a good idea is to spend a few days or weeks avoiding the music, and then coming back to it. It feels like its new again. Or maybe that has to do with my poor memmory hehe.
  6. You just asked the question wrong, that's all. You should of asked "Is there classical music out there that gives you the same feeling as some of the goa music", not "does classical beat goa". It's really like asking if the new mountainbike is better then a Hummer H2. I could recommend you the Hummer, but I wouldn't know if you need to drive on the road or go mountain biking. There is no 'this genre is better then that one', because it all comes down to personal taste. Wether you will like some classical music or not, is totally up to you. But genres don't beat each other off.
  7. Which artists, albums or comps have you listened to so many times that if asked if you could remember what melody comes in at 5:30 of track 8 on a particular album, you would immediately know. My most overlistened artist has to be AP. I mean I must of played their albums tens of thousands of times, and even tho I know exactly what to expect when I press the play button, I can still enjoy this music today. And it never gets boring (thats how good they are). One other artist that has a huge replay value for me is Man with no name. Of course there are other artists music out there that I enjoy, some of them are on my alltime favourites list, but their stuff doesn't really give me that much replay value as AP or MWNN. I guess what I'm asking is which artists, albums or comps have the most replay value for you?
  8. apples and oranges really. Plus it's comparing music that is recorded live with sometimes 100+ people, while electronic music can be edited at any time and improved at any time. With classical music you need to make that one take that is close to perfect. So it really is comparing apples and oranges.
  9. Fuk you abasio, I took a zip of water and almost choked on it for cryin out loud!
  10. Goa Trance: Astral Projection - Another World (1999) Ambient: Ulrich Schnauss - A Strangely Isolated Place (2003) Metal: Machine Head - Burn My Eyes (1994) Jazz: Billy Cobham - Spectrum (1973) - Got it on vinyl With other genres I couldn't really pick a favourite, altho I listen to a variety of music. But favourites can change at any time really..
  11. That's like the worse feedback you could get ever. (jk) No but, it's really not bad for a first try. Try experimenting more.. I've only used reason a couple of times so I can't really give you any technical advice. But keep on, you'll get better.
  12. Downlo... I mean I'm checkin it out right now. Edit: Oh stupid me I allready had that track. That has a beat btw.
  13. You know a great track that could of been beatless is Astral Projection - 12,000 Suns , however that one has a kick so it ain't. But I'm guessing this is the type of sound you are looking for. I'm not familiar with any music that features such melodies but without beats. Most of the beatless ambient out there is just dark and drone-like, without the melodies 'leading' anywhere.. I would appreciate some beatless trance tho.. If anyone knows of any please do tell.
  14. Yeah, I just thought it's the perfect oportunity for teh opinion lolcat.
  15. + faved, faved, faved, faved and faved.
  16. Hmm... maybe we should split ourselves into groups and create several tracks each with a different sequencer? We will need more people on this tho.. But it wouldn't be bad, we would allready have a compilation hehe.
  17. @ psykid: awesome pics, wish i was there.. btw welcome to the forum! (malo nas je malo nas je, pic-ki.... )
  18. It's not cheesy at all. But it just doesn't have that feel to it I'm so used from vocal trance (speaking about 90s - early 2000s here). Kind of minimalistic vocal trance.. I'll pass. :/
  19. So who wants to participate? Add your names and the sequencers you can work with so we can choose the one thats used the most
  20. Well I suposse we would just pass the project by to the next person when we're done. Over MSN or rapidshare/other upload sites. Then just pm the next person where the link is and he continues the work. Oh and, maybe make a list of people who want to participate and put some sort of schedule, so everyone knows when is their turn. Yeah most psynewsers here are familiar with FL (arent ya? ). The demo doesn't allow project saving, altho it allows exporting to wav. But that doesn't make sense if you're going to work on it for 3 days, you can't keep your pc on all the time.. I wouldn't advise to buy anything unless youre familiar with it (why waste money?). Maybe just 'try before u buy'? If you know what I'm getting at?
  21. Let's open an investigation!! I'm sending a letter to Haag even as we speak.
