  1. Ozric Tentacles - The Floor's Too Far Away.....on mp3 only so far.
  2. JackCheese >> given it a couple of listens, it has some really nice tracks. but I think it's one of their lesser good. certainly better than Swirly Termination though which they released to get rid of their current record lable at that time. abasio >> on CD you can get all very easily. if you live in Europe look at Rubbish Records catalogue they sell them for about £ 5. if you want vinyl it's a bit harder, I think The Hidden Step and Arborscense are still fairly easy to find though. p.s. as far recommendations it's hard to tell. you can say there are different periods though. 1. first the 6 early albums that came on cassette. these are fun and melodic albums, not as layered and clever compositions as the albums that would follow. the sound quality is not the best either. still enjoyable albums though. 2. the early 90's albums. pungent, erpland, jurassic, strangeitude. this is my favorite period. the compositions are the best. the sound quality is great. 3. later 90's period starting with arborscense. good production but the compositions are not their best no longer. they become more and more electronic based, that is why I think if you're a hardcore trance-fan you might like this stuff. ppl on this forum seem to like Waterfall Cities alot?? The Hidden Step is my favorite if you can count it into this period. 4. early 2000 til now. the "confusing period" maybe?? lots of line-up changes. Spirals In Hyperspace which is good but it's more of an Ed solo album. and the recent The Floor's Too Far Away which is not my favorite but it's not bad. sounds more like a compilation with songs from different eras. to summon it up, try these albums if you want a taste of each period: Sliding Gliding Worlds Jurassic Shift The Hidden Step Spirals In Hyperspace
  3. time to confess.... I recently bought my first trance albums (unless you count numerous trance ambient albums): Ticon - Aero CD Vibrasphere - Lime Structure CD yeah, after discovering prog trance that is what I'm goin for - all prog baby. what you think about my entry? next; maybe Sensifeel, Gaudium..... still need to decide if Freq and Son Kite are good enough to buy.
  4. cool. there are nice ppl out there after all
  5. hey, that's good. I hope they release a proper CD.
  6. it's true for all genres. there are more releases every year that are bad rather than fantastic, which is good in a way cause else I'd be a very poor man. am I alone on this one, or is it that the crappy trance (ambient) albums are very generic and almost emberresably lame. while you can take a crappy techno/tech-house release and atleast you hear small traces of innovation, or atleast an attempt to do something original? that's why I used to listen to prog rock alot, cause the norm within that genre was to strive for something original, but not all bands succeded of course.
  7. this makes no sense. the potential would be *outside* any genre, if anything. searching inside a well-established genre would lead to --->> stereotypical cliche trance. that would be me and Detector then
  8. sweeet there will be a re-issue of this you know. the Chain Reaction CD is impossible to find.
  9. any more fans out there of the new Sensifeel album? more info -->> http://www.discogs.com/release/675321 it's quite clubbish, minimal, and with a summery feeling. reminds me a bit of the two later Saafi Brothers albums which I love.
  10. way too melodic for me, although I like psy-prog.

  13. LOL! Postford is not god in my world, but I know how you feel. I just can't get it that not everyone likes Ozric Tentacles when they are such an amazing band.
  14. I'm starting to like the new Sensifeel album. one of the better prog/psy album I think based on my little knowledge.
