  1. ah indeed, I recognize the Mona Lisa overdrive mix... thanks for pointing me out to the remix album, I didn't even know about it
  2. INDEED HE DID!! I was surprised as well... plus the closing 2-hour set with Shpongle actually played tracks from The Infinity Project in the second hour. There was a 20-year anniversary theme going on and all the oldschool artists joined in, it was a real treat
  3. I've heard him play a DJ set at Freedom, it was AMAZING, he remixed all his tracks that aren't really dancefloor-friendly like Mona Lisa Overdrive into 100% psytrance, I wonder if he's planing on actually releasing them or will he just keep them for himself and occasional performances? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTO_pQmwBJE
  4. heard Solar Quest - Acid Air Raid a looong time ago (recorded it on a cassette at the time!), it still blows all the other acid tracks out of the water IMO, especially in terms of climax, half the track is the buildup to the first "smaller" climax, then the other half builds up to the secong HUGE climax, just great, I'll never get tired of that one! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BiJTbiYpaj4
  5. hmm wait, I'm confused now... is this a topic on mountains in general or on BULGARIAN mountains??
  6. here are some nice mountain pics I took on my journey this summer
  7. ha, well it's very difficult to rate since they are 3 very different festivals. Ozora is HUGE, lots of small alternative scenes that allow you to discover new stuff, and amazing deco. However, huge also means you get the wrong type of crowd, so quite a lot of rude people, thefts going on in tents etc Lost Theory has a great location, it's much smaller than other "big" festivals but at the same time that's what makes its charm, everything feels nice and cosy and the crowd has a more hippie-type mentality Freedom I'd say is a bit of a loser on first sight cause it's big but not as big as other big festivals like Ozora and Boom (although the location is great, right next to a lake in which you can swim, great when it's 40°C during the day...) at the same time I've had quite a few issues with the crowd, who was more from the tekno scene than the psytrance scene, lots of them were the paranoid types like "why are you talking to me? are you a cop in disguise? are you a robber?" etc, others where outright rude so I didn't feel that easy around them. But on the other hand like I said, music-wise I've had a lot more pleasant surprises than the other 2 (maybe it was precisely that lack of decos and friendly people that made me want to spend more time on the dancefloor instead of wandering around and talking with people). So yeah, to answer your question, spirit-wise, Lost Theory is definately a hands-down winner, but that's just one aspect which will make you miss out on other stuff
  8. ah yes that's why I always pack a small tent with me now, no room = no problem, I just find a little road in the fields somwhere, set up my tent and sleep AND save the money I would've spent on the hotel room BTW I actually find one sleeps BETTER in a tent in very warm countries than in a hotel room. Most small hotels don't have air conditioning so it's VERY hot even when the sun comes down, whereas in a tent once the sun comes down everything is nice and cool
  9. final destination was Freedom in Portugal, it wasn't as big as Ozora, nor as cosy as Lost Theory but musical-wise it was the best IMO, I made lots of new discoveries in twilight which I didn't know as well, plus some EPIC unreleased tracks from some masters like OTT, Cosmosis (who had a very rockish set BTW, complete style change), Talamasca, Raja Ram, Hallucinogen and Shpongle, it really reignited my interest for psytrance :)Plus Juno Reactor gave us an AMAZING DJ set, all his tracks were remixed into 100% dancefloor-friendly psytrance, I really hope he'll release them soon Here are my pics, hope you enjoy http://www.slickpic.com/s/jDjN100iCQM0iN/FreedomFestival2013?preview ... and these are pics from my road trip going there (through Italy, South of France and Spain): http://www.slickpic.com/s/zMOw2DDjcNIMMM/RoadTrip2013?preview
  10. hi there! I've always had a soft spot for photography but never quite got past amateur level. Now, some events this year made me want to take my skills to the next level, and I'm realizing that there is a LOT to learn! So I was wondering, what sites would you recommend for some good photograpy tips and tutorials?
  11. OMG thaks for that Heart-to-Heart song, I haven't listened to it in AGES! I really liked it when a kid the other 2 tracks are quite respectable IMO, nothing to be ashamed of now if I REALLY had to come out of the closet I'd have to say that this one STILL brings tears to my eyes even today http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktRsl2hAPhY
  12. oh yeah and some dance 80s tunes that just somehow stuck with me since I was a kid: THEEEE best track of the 80s hands down for me (notice the 303 bassline in the background ): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-0sUuGufmw 80s rap but also with use of 303s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-lGxh-vMyw
  13. hehe nice ones to remember out of the new ones playing on the radio I have to admit a softspot for this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcrbM1l_BoI and out of the classics... weel shitloads of eurodance from the 90s!! probably way to many to mention but if I had to pick one it would be this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLBJ1geMNJc
  14. heyyy nice one In honor of this event I shall take out my Project II Trance cd, dust it off and listen to it after many many years of leaving it untouched on the shelf, I almost feel like an archeleogist who has re-discovered an ancient artefact this is my fave track from the comp BTW: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-aPsKwoXcPw
  15. so I've been there and lived to tell about it The deco is absolutely INSANE (proportional to the budget and the ticket price), the place is so huge you spend most of your time walking in circles wondering where the hell the artist you want to watch is... it took me 4 HOURS (!!) to find the psytrance scene!! (although I must admit that various susbtances might have helped my wanderings lol). A bit dissapointed to see the psytrance scene was actually the LEAST well decorated, absolutely no "typical" psytrance deco; a bit of a shame. BTW it was full of body-builder type tatooed guys mainly from South Africa which would normally qualify as "chavs" in these parts... kindof made me wonder how the psytrance crowd looks like in other parts of the World lol Main scene: Psytrance Scene: BTW on the psytrance scene a guy in a wheelchair came and people lifted him up so he had the feeling of dancing in the crowd, a really heart warming moment, One Love if you want to see more of the madeness, here are the pics I took: Tomorrowland 2013
  16. hehe, this one actually works, trippy indeed I wonder what's the explanation behind this... (for best results put on full-screen mode and look at the letters in the centre) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftV5VekUf-4
  17. ah quite on the contrary, I think taking too much illegal substances would trigger quite a bad trip with all the people around PS there's even a psytrance floor with Infected, Neelix, John 00 Fleming and Astrix
  18. ok, it's extremely expensive and in spite the steep prices every year it's sold out in less than an hour (!!) but I'll go just to see what all the fuss is about (after all, it's just a half hour drive away from my home ). The deco looks incredible though, you can see that the organisers have millions to spend, this year they'll even shoot hail canons to prevent rainstorms from happening during the event!
  19. hmm not much of a dancer lately, although I used to love being on the dancefloor, I guess I'm gettin' old It's also true that less and less of the music played still does it for me, although last year there was a party with Astral and MWNN and there I was amost all night on the dancefloor, so I guess the music played does have a great influence on my willingness to dans for hours in a row
  20. hum really? care to give some examples? The only one I know of is this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GF0I0fHBMKA
  21. hey why do we forget about these topics? * TOPIC REVIVAL IN PROGRESS * (all pics taken by myself BTW) A small port in The Netherlands (Paal) during a very strong reflux: abandoned fare figures on an industrial property in The Netherlands (Walsoorden) abandoned city in Belgium (Doel): same city, the abandoned houses are squatted by "alternative lifestyle people" here's some very nice street art they made: local festivities in Brussels: "Garden of the future" during the same festivities in Brussels: cool pirate deco in a garden in North of France (Grand-Fort-Philippe): Dunkerque (France): event centre in Brussels (The Egg): Belgian castle (La Hulpe) at 1AM during the Super Moon (60 second exposure on a tripod): me trying to look like a ghost the same night lol: another event space in Brussels (Brussels Event Brewery):
  22. hmm well it's spectacular but... wouldn't it just be more logical to have a market on a street that DOESN'T have a train running through it? lol
  23. oh yeah how could I forget Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I even went to see all the movies
