  1. I understand you guys fully. But I believe some of you are being too radical. Not sure if that's true, but seems you are getting so picky on what's being played out there that you're not enjoying gigs and all. My musical taste has been changing a lot lately - Infected's Supervisor in Dec04 to Tiga/Dnox/Ticon now.. I'm new to trance and most electronic music actually.. but the scene here is small, I don't have that many options at all, but I still like to go to a party and dance a bit, have a beer and meet friends, try to listen to what they're playing. Who knows if I'll like it or not most of the time.. I leave my radical criticism and personal taste to where I can decide what plays or not.. My bed room, car stereo or mp3 player.. my decks. Not to mention most people - I wouldn't say here tho.. - are not even caring much about our complaints/comments. Do you know what I mean? And yeah - I agree most 'progressive' releases I listened to this year went towards house/electro.
  2. So much hate in that heart.. haha take it easy ok? I'm not too sure about how alternative it would have to be "alternative". You must consider brazilian scene is VERY recent... The current israeli stars are still playing in most events... there's still a huge demand for projects like Astrix, IM, GMS, etc... It will take some time (1-2 years..?) for people to learn more about music and actually decide what they like.. And YES.. brazilian parties (mostly in São Paulo) and festivals do have a nice chill out I must say. But NO, the Chill Out line up hasnt been released yet. I'll bring it when I get to see it In the mean time... this was Universo Paralello's Chill Out area. Perhaps you would enjoy it....
  3. Isn't Azax Syndrome Dark Psy? Goes along with Derango, no? Not much my style.. but I'll try to check it out.
  4. Seven Hours is a kick ass tune!! I bought the single in vinyl and it rocks... Jet Lag Slave is also another incredible track.. has been working on dance floors for a lil time already now.

  6. Hmmmmm I believe I know what you're looking for.... Delirious - Break Point Infected Mushroom - IM The Supervisor
  7. 1. Delirious - Break Point 2. Ticon - Zero Six After 3. Burn In Noise - Broken MP3 4. Antix - Twin Coast Remixes 5. Tripswitch - Circuit Breaker Solved
  8. I thought you were complaining about their electro-house stuff being released in 'prog trance' compilations. In Brazil most people can't freaken tell which tracks fit into the genres.. Of course there's a lot of stuff that could be classified into some different categories.. But people say that Tiga, some D-Nox & Beckers etc.. is progressive trace.. like Son Kite's Colours album "oh... ass shaking progressive!! Great party!"
  9. I'm still very "new" to psytrance... I've heard very little.. I like trippy, melodic, uplifting stuff.. But I actually don't have much music at all. I go to a lot of parties.. listen to a lot of stuff, but never know the name of anything When I find something I like a lot I'll let you know Live, on New Year's Eve.. on acid... with a bunch of close friends, at this tropical paradise with huge coconut trees, beach.. warm weather.. so... hahah Yeah.. the funky thing that got me there.. the climax is superb, but right after the rolling drums comes a VERY GROOOOOOVY part that I like a LOT. It's like.... "whoa... mind roller coaster time.... downhill yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!" I'll add this track to my full on set for tomorrow You need a good quality version of it to feel the pressure of the synths/kicks
  10. I believe this track is very much dance floor oriented.. I could say it "fits the needs of the current brazilian psy scene". Good to hear Tatsu liked it.. somehow I feel we have a similar taste
  11. My story is SHORT, but I'd rather say it hasn't started yet. My oldest brother (33) has been a deep/tech house for like 10-12 years now so I had been connected to music for a loooong time. In August 2004 I believe I went to my first psy-party.. it was called Groove Attack.. Some major full-on projects performed.. I don't remember which ones.. but I really started to get into psy after that.... and started to want to produce/DJ. Since I don't have much free time right now to produce and I believe time is NEEDED to produce good stuff I chose DJing. In August I bought a pair of CDJs + Mixer + headphones and started practicing.. In October two friends of mine who are like popular in town were booked to play at a party organized by a friend of theirs.. problem was that they didn't even know how to use a mixer or a CDJ! They called me up asking if I could teach them (something I am not good at myself... ).. so they brought their CDs to my house and listed a full-on set.. I just mixed the set together and wrote down the beat-match pitch number on a piece of paper and handed them.. Basically they only learned to set the Cue point and use the cross fader/channel volumes on a mixer.. and to beat match they used the cheat-sheet I wrote for them with the exact pitch numbers so the BPMs were matched On the day of that party I arrived early, before the party was opened to check the sound system out and assist them both on whatever they needed... They were scheduled to play an 1h30 set around 00h30 when the party opened.. There were 2 dance floors.. one with hip-hop and dance music... and the psytrance one. So I got there, gates opened they were like.. "Hey.. you wanna play a bit.. until like 1h15 and then we play?" so I said yes.. borrowed their CD case and played whatever was like commercial/known (GMS/Astrix/IM/...) and wasn't included in their set just go get the crowd going.. You got to understand the scene in my town is small and the public at this specific party is made of people who don't know e-music much.. So there I played my first and only set for with a great sound system... But I want to play Progressive House/Trance... bought my first set of vinyls and am gonna get a pair of pick-ups. But I want to team up with my brother and for that I need to practice a lot. I aim to be GOOD at the first gig... I don't want to be known as "the guy who spent $$ on vinyls, to show off, who doesn't know how to mix"... So.. give me 3-4 months at least with a lot of practicing.. If I am to play somewhere.. I want to impress. Really. I can get gigs easily since I helped those 2 popular guys.. they can hook me up easily at some parties in town.. and I have been making some connections as well. People have been inviting me to play, but I turn all the offers down with the speech above "if I am to play... I must be good..". I wanna see people listening and saying "wow.. this is good music". So hopefully I'll come back to this thread in a few months with a happy story.
  12. I put a sample in .ram because it is the one with better quality. I editted the post above with a link to the psyshop page with MP3 samples Check it out and come back with some feed back
  13. Opinion.... Brazilian Project called "Burn in Noise" http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/val/val1cd002.html Album Name: Broken MP3 Sample of track "Flight Number" http://217.160.71.18/f/val/val1cd002h9.ram I'd like to know you guys' opinion on this sample. Especially Tatsu's who I believe is into full-on. This was played on New Year's Eve 2005/2006 @ Universo Paralello Festival in Bahia/Brazil. I went absolutely nuts listening to this, but instead of jumping up and down like a maniac, this time I couldn't do this.. I was like.. "WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?! " and was only standing thinkign "Damn... life IS fucking good!" Whoa.. what a track, IMHO.
  14. Thereshold is when you want a delay.. you add some thereshold triggered by a marker on a track. It makes the track you picked for this effect to go out of the original sync depending on how you adjust the effect.... "There(s)! Hold!!!"... voila! So much knowledge.. I had to share!
  15. Have any of you guys heard of Vlado? I believe he's a DJ only. Perhaps from Germany. He played @ Universo Paralello and I loved his style.
  16. I'll pop a cold beer open in your honor @ Universo Paralello because of this. Great tunes. Happy New Year, bro
  17. Agreed. A e-music store within each label's website. Lossless downloadeable music files. Accepting Paypal.
  18. You get MP3s... with quality loss. For DJs, I wouldn't recommend. Even if most people say the difference isn't much noticeable for most listeners in front of a well equalized and potent set of speakers! As I said.. artists make a living out of that. If you want to make money out of their work.. you should as well pay them for providing you the tools to do your own.
  19. Right now I would either buy vinyl or lossless downloadeable formats. Since I want the records to play at gigs or listen at home... But I don't see much glamour on having the actual original CD. For example. I bought the new Ticon CD... shipped to my brother in Ireland. He ripped the CD (.wav) and sent me a copy of the CD after sending the .wav through DC++ So.. Im interested in the music if it's just for listening and interested in a record.. if it's for playing at gigs
  20. You're right.. But hopefully people will read your suggestion and express themselves. That would make CDs cheaper and labels more profitable.
  21. Since there's a great thread with the discussion regarding current prices on CDs, etc... I'd like to know from you guys if you would pay for music downloads. Being them mp3s or lossless formats. Would you buy music online if it was cheaper and CD-quality? I voted I'd pay around 1 dollar for a track. But of course I would also pay 1.20-1.50. It usually depends on HOW many tracks you want to get sometimes.. But let's say if you're willing to download a whole album it would cost around 99 cents per track, or the album would have discount, etc.. Also notice that the artwork would be available in high quality if clients wanted to download and print out their own CD covers, etc. That could help music industry I believe. Not sure if the current buyers would like NOT having the actual CD with cover, printing, etc.. You know collectors
