  1. FARADIZE - FUSION 01 - Awakening the World (Intro) (105 BPM) 02 - To The Roots (145 BPM) 03 - Faradonia (148 BPM) 04 - Forgotten Psy (130 BPM) Russian-born producer Faradize (Maxim Kucher), who presently resides in Beer-Sheva, capital of the Israeli full-on scene, returns to Ektoplazm with Fusion, his third collection of songs for the esteemed psytrance netlabel. Building on the symphonic strengths of Reviving A Legend (2010) and Darknight Castle (2009), Faradize further refines his melodic and expressive style on this rollicking ride into the far reaches of the imagination. Mastering and cover art by Maxim Kucher. Download it for free in MP3/FLAC/WAV direct from Ektoplazm: http://www.ektoplazm.com/2011/faradize-fusion
  2. The situation has changed somewhat but this is still valid: http://www.ektoplazm.com/2011/bittorrent-is-not-the-solution Google ads make less than the cost of hosting but at least they're something. Still, I'd rather take on advertising from within the psytrance scene.
  3. I've been working on the site pretty much non-stop for a couple of days now... things are looking up. Let me know if you are experiencing good or bad transfer rates wherever you are. I switched the server and it seems to be much more responsive. Fundraising? Donations are always welcome, of course I try not to bother anyone about it too much and simply hope that if people find the site useful that they would contribute within their means. Some months support is strong, and on others I pay out of my pocket to keep the site afloat. I could say more but I'll leave it at that. As for time-consuming tasks, yes, it is possible I could delegate some of the work. It is something I will write about soon. The main priority right now is getting everything back to where it was earlier this summer.
  4. What's up? I finished university and moved out. Simultaneously, my web hosting situation deteriorated, with transfer rates dropping from respectable levels to a mere 60 to 90 kb/s at all times. Although I've gone back and forth with my host for weeks now it still isn't fixed. Since I feel like I am out of options, I will be posting up a slew of releases that have been delayed, and apologize in advance for the additional time it will take everyone to download all the new music. I don't quite know what to do moving forward but hope to make a post about the future of the site in the next little while. I think it's time for some community input as I've been stewing in my own thoughts for far too long. And yes, as noted, it has just been a hobby (a tremendously expensive and time-consuming one, mind you), and now that I'm done school I might not be able to invest as heavily in the site as I have for the past five years. It really depends on what I decide to do in the near future.

  6. This is something I enjoy in the middle of night: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yot8jaZLNHc
  7. I tend to agree with your review, Lemmiwinks. Evening Star is obviously brilliant... the rest is a mix of promising tunes (Bloomen and MakadaM) and some stuff that sounds a little raw and uninspired.
  8. I have totally had this experience at some parties recently... some artists and DJs are completely allergic to anything resembling a hook and yes, all the songs quickly blur together into an unrecognizable mish-mash of beats and breakdowns. This tendency to focus on one specific sound with the "perfect" kick drum and bass line setup is really missing the point... but at least it's a little better than five years ago when DJs were obsessed with unreleased music, no matter how awful it sounded. I'm hoping this emphasis on monotone night music is just a fad. Luckily it's not something I hear everywhere nor does it usually persist for more than a set or two.

    Chi-ad - Lifeforce

I believe After Ever was later updated and released as Fluid Cluster on one of the Peace Therapy compilations.
  10. 01 - Gagarin (175 BPM) 02 - Devoid Of Gravity (175 BPM) 03 - Close Your Eyes (175 BPM) 04 - Anomaly (177 BPM) 05 - Ghost Of Midas (174 BPM) 06 - Humanity: Static (Cybernetika Remix) (176 BPM) 07 - Forged For Battle (175 BPM) 08 - Electron Tracker (177 BPM) Cybernetika returns to Ektoplazm with Colossus, an extraordinary full-length album fusing psychedelic trance and drum ‘n bass with futuristic science fiction atmospheres. Following on the enormous success of last year’s The Scythe Of Orion, which was declared the best free psytrance album of 2010 by Ektoplazm visitors, and building on the genre-bending experimentalism of Atropos (2009), this album delivers exactly what Cybernetika fans have been waiting for: epic storytelling through innovative electronic music. As with his previously releases, Cybernetika has written an epigraph to situate the album within a thematic framework: “As all-consuming waves of entropy were reaching our galaxy, mankind was forced into a desperate battle for survival. With discovered technologies far beyond our understanding, we were able to construct a last bastion against a rapidly dissolving universe, right in the center of our galaxy: The Colossus, a gigantic, artificial shield of protection, preserving stability of space itself. With the Colossus, we can defeat our own destiny…” Track 6 (Humanity: Static) originally written and produced by Vortech. Mastered by Kri @ Audiovalve. Artwork by Stefan Hürlemann. Download it for free in MP3/FLAC/WAV direct from Ektoplazm: http://www.ektoplazm.com/2011/cybernetika-colossus
  11. I'd be interested in an Art Of Existence remix. None of these other names catch my eye.
  12. 1. Merlin’s Beard (130 BPM) 2. The Chase (130 BPM) 3. White Noise In C Major [feat. Fogg] (130 BPM) 4. Uh Oh (128 BPM) Drumlore presents White Noise In C Major, the first release from Nozem (Raoul Koning AKA Supergroover), a progressive psytrance and techno producer from the Netherlands. Since his studio is located near the Vondelpark, a former meeting place of the 1960s counterculture in the centre of Amsterdam, Raoul decided to name this project “Nozem”, which is a Dutch word for someone who doesn’t adjust to the rules of society. True to form, this boundary-breaking release features pumping techno rhythms and a sound palette heavily influenced by psychedelic trance, a powerful fusion that will rock dance floors around the world. Mastered by Miroslav Bako @ Rocktifex Studio, Serbia. Download it for free in MP3/FLAC/WAV direct from Drumlore: http://drumlore.com/release/nozem-white-noise-in-c-major/ Also available from Ektoplazm: http://www.ektoplazm.com/2011/nozem-white-noise-in-c-major
  13. It's Goa trance. I wouldn't bother with further categorizations. Sandman has a distinct sound... may as well be his own "genre" if you want to get right down to it.
  14. Released! http://www.ektoplazm.com/2011/toi-doi-mother-pitch

  17. Life is too short to bother with bad music.
  18. Very nice work on this EP! Different moods, different flavours, and pure quality throughout.
  19. Out now: http://www.ektoplazm.com/2011/baron-samdi-cursed-bloodline
  20. All good songs but I wish they'd post some of the more obscure and hard to find stuff in their discography.
