  1. Hi man , so it's like this: 35 unit >> very industrial and harsh ambience, which i like, but should gain a lot with a good frequency mastering, some of them clash and hurt the ears IMO. The ambient is very psy, the sounds are a bit oldschool IMO, but that is good in some cases . The progressions show that you have a good feeling for psy-buildups (not so easy to do), i think you really need new sounds and software to create a more full mix, with diferent textures, and then the hard sounds will rock. I touch a pulsar >> almost the same opinion, this track has potential but needs a lot of care in the frequency shaping of the sounds, and a bit in the structure (a bit monotone IMO). The ambient is dark, psy and powerful. Hope to ear more from you! keep working, you have what it takes
  2. In celebration for the creation of this subforum, Swan X-1 publish our last full track : Ritual Check it out people, full 9 minute psy/dark ride through the primitive ritual Please leave your coments or insults, we are kind-listeners just go to Swan X-1 in Soundclick , go to Music section and download the damn file! Boom
  3. take a LOT more: great track man, i like it a lot! Spiritual vibes all over, trippy leads and suprising story, with an intense ending, very good indeed i'll listen to the other track now to see if it can match this one boom best of luck Serguei :: Swan X-1
  4. 10x for the sincere review man! highly apreciated yes, i think as you, people complaint about guitars on psy just because they are always used the same way... it's our center aim to respect the guitar and to use it in its wide spectrum of sounds and techniques about structure, sounds coming and going etc, this is the first track were we do this, we tried to shift the song like if we were dragged by some strong force the track is 9:20 long, and its like the part i showed you is wandering around and all sounds get integrated into one powerful groove in the end... i think the end missing would give another perspective of the global story. About groove, i think you can be very right, so i'll look at it with diferent eyes to see what i feel about it, 10x! some more tracks coming soon, but, meanwhile, keep those reviews coming !
  5. Hello people it would be wonderful to get some opinions about our new track, we're shifting our style a bit and could use sincere reviews... Swan X-1 :: Ritual http://www.swanx.net/mp3/Swan_X-1_-_Ritual_preview.mp3 Swan X-1 is a psy live.act from Portugal. We play live guitars, drums, synths and fx. Big Boom for all!
  6. come on people, DO iT! i'm waiting to send tracks... MP3 free stylish site or Investors' compilation, who cares! Amygdala clearly shows up as an example of how the simple exposure and promotion is the valuable prize for this community activity... the best will always go far if they work for it, and promotion is the thing to get noticed.. most of all, we are wasting time, we could be checking tracks already, lo-fi mp3 for contest i think is best. Also, we could do it every 2 months, bringing joy to people and finally bringing people's attention and reviews for the tracks published just thoughts... but waiting for action
  7. good track man! didn't like much of the beginning, too childish, but it sure turns to dark madness! good fx and twisted melodies! good work, best of luck! boom Serguei
  8. He's great! i saw him live in Portugal, amazing live.set of modern psy goa i love almost all tracks, Striker, Things that..., Megatonne... He opened my eyes to Australian trance eheh Boom for the Cangaru!
  9. the Chat rocks! eh eh good laughs there, psyco people in the move
  10. S.Africans rule! together with australians, they are great too. both countries produce highly psychedelic sound, a lot more trippy than almost every fullon and progressive track. close your eyes and you fly quick and far i saw Shift here in Portugal in march, and Rinkadink in April i can say that the Shift guy is a great composer / producer and he is best than ever, as for his liveset and his djing skills and taste! wicked live act. 1,5 hour live and 2.5 djing! GMS played after him and sounded like kid-music Rinkadink was a desilusion though... he burned the Boom's dancefloor, but this time he was arrogant and fakey with the crowd and his sound lost direction and deepness i was sad, and not willing very much to give him a second chance.. he was one of my favourite acts, BTW as for the australians, my favourites are Fractal Glider: total psy melodic madness if the SAs are the future, hummm, you can never tell. the present is all there is MEGATRON
  11. i guess you are right... i'll try and find a way of shutting down the browser menu without launching another window Can you explain what the problem is? I know there are lots of things to do on the site, and i wanna do them all as soon as i can
  12. yes i know... but if you allow www.swanx.net to launch popups, then all the next times it won't bother you, as you might know. i did it this way because it's the only way to launch the browser with no menu i think, fancy-ware-style do you think this is an important issue for browsing? aren't people used to this already (there are lots of start-launcher sites nowadays...)? help me out !
  13. Hello psy people! I have the pleasure to announce that the new Swan X-1 website is breeding and moving! Not everything is done yet, i've got to work on some modules there, but the main organism is pretty and vivid eh eh Swan X-1 is a portuguese psy.trance live.act Check out our info and very soon new updates of our tracks. Swan X-1 website Take a ride.. and tell me what you think eh he Boom Serguei
  14. broken link... that's going to the logout page... what's your band url in soundclick.com?
  15. "Also making a climax in music is one of the hardest things. I'm getting better at it but I'm not really there yet, but I know what you mean." it sure is hard we are all after those climax moments eh eh "I had a hard time to make the bassdrum sound good tight and hard and I'm still not really satisfied, but that's something for next time. " bass is always a pain in the ass, but extra-important "Also I'm dreaming of rewiring reason into cubase sx, I'm sure I could get better quality sounds too within cubase. " you are right, sound are clearer and overall mix is better in sound quality (and the those VSTs hummm) good luck! will be paying atention to your work
  16. can't get inside that website man... not found can you fix it?
  17. me!!!! hi there, i like the proggy feel in this track... the FX are very sweet and mind-expanding in my opinion, very well producer (delays, reverb, mix) main fault IMO is that the track is too repetitive... i think it needs stronger variations in drums, and and higher final, with something new... but maybe you are seeking the traveling progressive sound, and if so it's great! good work man, good luck!
  18. hi there! well conceived, soft/light/travelling trance... smooth, good sounds, beautiful melodies... good track to relax to at home, or to listen while traveling... a bit to light to party with IMO, even in the morning call me a power seeker good work, best of luck man
  19. Hi there! I like your always-moving-and-pumping-sounds kind of composing, with lots of dynamics and changes... your fx and synths sound oldschool to me, nice to this kind of goa leads... the drums are vintage sounding too, merge well with the song idea... not my kind of sounds, but work well here... I think it's a good promising track... the main fault IMO is the story, that looses sense from the middle to the end of the track, never reaching that ecstasy point if you know what i mean good work! keep up man best of luck
  20. Nuendo has a great sound engine (maybe better than Cubase SX IMO) From my experience, either with Fruity or with Reason for composition, everything sounds better if you export audio tracks to Cubase/Nuendo and do the final Mix there. if you need some mastering, do it in another session (Nuendo/Wavelab) over the mix audio file
  21. go to FX sends, choose one channel (ex: 6), open the VST, then go to channel screen of one sound, and in the top-right corner you choose the FX channel you created (6 in this example) hope it helps
