  1. no way, rain! psyshop is DEAD-ON about every release's description.... i mean c'mon, there are at least 300 best albums of the month!!! heheh j/k. you are so right. when i first started going there, i was like hmm... this one says "best"... funny b\c last one i read was also the "best". envision whirled peas -ensign
  2. yeah, i agree with you totally, EP. if you think the topic or post is useless... don't fucking read it. it's kind of like the internet in general, there's a lot of shit out there to ignore. Trolsk, you shouldn't go telling people what to/not to post. we don't need any israfascism around here. i do have some of the same sentiments about certain posters, i'd rather they not respond b\c of the lack of value of their input... but i keep it to myself (or flame them! always an option). -ensign
  3. yeah, i'm there with you on the kadafi being f'ing incredible. as far as a single moments of greatness... here are some of my favs: (these aren't necessarily my fav ambient songs, just moments) The Orb - Montagne d'Or - from 4:20 til the end Shulman - Small Grey Creatures - from 8:08 to 9:00 (the guitar build-up)... amazing Ulrich Schnauss - A Strangely Isolated Place - from 2:39 to 6:30.. very dark and eerie, excellent climax Boards of Canada - Aquarius - from 3:00 on 4:30. don't know why, but i love the #'s thing in this song =) Morphem - Hypnotone - the intro until the melody comes in. don't know what to classify this part as, but i like it.. also the exit (where the same tune comes back in) This music makes me think of "The Shining"... old/nostalgic/weird okay... done for now. cheers -ensign
  4. i almost cried when i saw the twisted web site say that the shpongle album will be released on 11-5-05.... because in the US's terrible system of writing dates, that means november 5th, 2005. =) god bless you europeans! -ensign
  5. not quite: track _Lunar Civilization_ MP3 by Crop Circles sample: "Personally, I'm convinced that there must be many, many higher civilizations in this enormous and incredibly ancient universe of ours." - Arthur C. Clarke's Mysterious World_ (1985) track _2001_ MP3 (192k) by S-Range sample:"Personally, I am convinced that there are many many higher civilizations in this enormous and incredibly ancient universe of ours." - _Arthur C. Clarke's Mysterious World_ (1985) -ensign
  6. terrible acting. terrible dialogue. convoluted plot. retarded ending. that scene where the black dude is shooting down those things that are penetrating their city... the entire time he is screaming "GNaaaaaaa!!!! Rrrraaaah!!! AhhHH!!!!!!" special effects do not a great movie make. i'm not saying i didn't enjoy it at all. i'm just saying it was a PIECE OF SHIT movie =) if you want to go percentages, i'd guestimate that 99% of people who saw all three feel that the second two movies should not have been made, as they have done nothing but taint the original. -ensign
  7. well, just got around to reading this thread.... seraph, i noticed that earlier you got on someone's case for calling their girlfriend a "bitch" in a playful manner (but i understand how it could be perceived as being hateful). anyway, it seems hypocritical to the spirit that I associated with the defensiveness to someone using the term "bitch" to also be able to tell someone to "shut up" for merely voicing an opinion. unless there is some underlying dissention between you two that i don't know about, i think this attitude is somewhat rude and hateful.. at least i'm perceiving it that way -ensign
  8. hmm, i usually watch several a week, so a "movies i like" list would be several hundred long. some favs: clockwork orange dr strangelove req for a dream braveheart rob roy waking life before sunrise lotr trilogy butch cassidy & sundance kid heat terminator 1 predator pi alien royal tenenbaums platoon princess bride godfather evil dead airplane those are just a few off the top of my head =) -ensign
  9. Hahahahahah what??? That's an absolutely ridiculous assertion. You need to see some more (better) movies, Cinos, before you give any high praise to a trilogy that never should have been. Either that, or you simply have poor taste :0 Let me guess, you think Jar-Jar Binks is "kewl"? Then again, I'm guessing you are not from the US, so maybe you just get bombarded with crappy American movies and do not get our oftentimes less popular but way more profound, not-just-eye-candy movies? I'm not saying that our movies are the be-all end-all of cinema, but in general we tend to have the best (and yeah, i see a lot of foreign films... im into the indie way more than the pop-culture matrix sequel wannabe shit) -ensign
  10. I don't think you got my reference. The Matrix Revolutions was a terrible movie and has the track Navras by Juno Reactor in it. In "A Clockwork Orange", Alex is forced into associating sex, violence, the "in-out, in-out", rape, AND BEETHOVEN with pain/agony/nausea. So when he hears Beethoven later, he becomes ill and jumps out of the 3rd floor window (after he's been locked up there by the husband of the woman he raped earlier). So I was saying that I associate Navras with shittiness, so it's hard to enjoy it =) A Clockwork Orange is probably my favorite movie of all time =) -ensign
  11. this poll reminds me of the movie High Fidelity, when Cusack gets dumped by his gf.....time to reorganize =) -ensign
  12. navras is nice, but i associate it with bad (movie). anyone see clockwork orange? =) -ensign
  13. well, i did like Involver too... and i like the fact that he didn't mix, but recreated all the tracks himself in the studio. however, it wasn't original stuff, nor did it have the flow nor fluid feeling of airdrawndagger...totally dif types of music. also, not ALL tracks on involver were spectacular... although it DID lead me to find more music by Ulrich Schnauss... far away trains passing by is good, but nowhere near as awesome as A Strangely Isolated Place (ulrich schnauss)....the last track, self-titled, is absolutely phenomenal... and puts me in a trance every time i listen. any of you out there ulrich fans? -ensign
  14. yeah i agree with spindrift, i think it depends on how prominant the picture will be... and also how much exposure it will receive. do you even know if it was done by an artist in the same country? also, did you change the image file name, because if you didn't you may be able to find it elsewhere on the net. -ensign
  15. let me be the first to say that the title of this thread is rather befitting =) listening to their earlier works just might cure you of such an affliction. check out classical mushroom.... -ensign
  16. Cinos, don't force me to find those photos of yourself that you sent me in confidence =0
  17. feeding time at traveller's house can get a little hectic...
  18. hahaha omg! what is that!?
  19. fine, i hoped i wouldn't have to go this low, but perhaps we all could gain a little insight from your high school diving competition photos. you should be proud of winning the most-water-displaced trophy!
  20. nah... i think what really happened was you ran out of self-portraits and now you must resort to critiquing the pics of you that I found =) seriously though, if you call a forum pathetic, why stick around? it would appear that you sure like to hang out in what you consider trash. your rep here is shot, it would seem, so there's no saving face now =) hari-kari is the only way, you lost soul.... -ensign
  21. traveller, don't look so dejected, we all know you are "special" and respect you for it. well... maybe we don't. take your hairy paws off the keyboard and go back to isratrance from whence you came.
  22. thanks, heheh. as always, happy to amuse =) -ensign
  23. lol nope. I am neither German nor Christian. btw, we have candid photos of you receiving your twisted promos:
  24. you don't happen to be from indonesia, traveller? http://www.cnn.com/2005/TECH/science/03/03...t.ap/index.html =)
  25. actually, no. it's not just the "american" way to spell it. It's the ENGLISH WORD. Habbit:habit is not like humour:humor. even www.dictionary.co.uk can't find your made-up spelling variation. give it up -ensign ps - i don't give a flying #$% how you actually decide to spell it, mafia/traveller. I just find it hypocritical that you would make fun of someone else's spelling if you yourself are spelling-impaired. i'm not trying to make fun of non-native english speakers.... and neither should you.
