  1. nice track. sounds like a real 303 or a xox, not an emulation
  2. man that thing does seem to suck. I guess you get what you paid for. I'm glad i invested in an analogue rytm
  3. Right? The sound design is amazing; just listen to how lush those synths sound! The arrangement is meh. Song choice is ok. Part of me really wishes they just made an album with some original pieces not just remixes...
  4. performing live with gear sounds like a terrible pain in the ass. Transporting gear and worrying about it not get damaged and working correctly etc etc...
  5. Initially i was relieved and happy that its finally here. Now that thats worn off I'm kind of disappointed to be honest. Although they chose a pretty good selection of tracks to remix that alone doesn't make the album good. They fucked up some of the melodic interplay in tracks like stimuli. xdream rain remix is boring and repetitive. They chose the easiest BPC songs to remix and they made one fullon and the other kinda dull and emotionless unlike the original. LSD remix is ok. My favorite track off the album would have to be california sunshine rain remix and mugen
  6. perhaps. what i said still has a big effect on production capabilities
  7. I'd say learn how to listen is most important. Learn to hear the difference between waveforms, filters, resonances, and such. Dissecting sound and just having a good ear that can recognize patterns and techniques used in your favorite recordings. Having a nice playback system doesn't mean much if you can't appreciate it.
  8. General delay tips? Unsynced delays could be used to explore a range of rhythmic options. A tape delay emulator can achieve pitch shifting by automating change in the rate of the delay line. Also there is a whole synthesis method called Karplus strong based applying very short delay lines to short bursts of noise to produce pitched sounds and more. Just convert frequency into period and apply the period length as the delay line + some filtering and you'll achieve plucked string sounds. I personally use fabfilter's timeless which has some cool feedback, filtering, and routing options within the plugin.
  9. Hey man. People are busy and stuff. We aren't responsible for "killing psy." unwarranted harsh words over a lack of replies to one of your threads i take it? Stop pulling and radi and chill out. Everything is ok.
  10. limiting your options is one way to spruce creativity. When you have an open DAW the possibilities are endless and in a way this makes writing more intimidating.
  11. New track. Let me know what you think if you want. https://soundcloud.com/panoptes/analogue-rytm-303-jp8000
  12. o god why is everything out of tune. >.<
  13. Links to samples of me messin with my AR https://soundcloud.com/panoptes/analogue-rytm-303-jp8000
  14. My analogue rytm finally came. What a beast. I'll post a sample soon
  15. @desysko- i mean their sound SEEMS simple but I realize it really isn't. Brown nosing? We're talking about suntrip masters. They're pretty much up there with the old masters.
  16. radi if you want an active forum go to 4chan or reddit (or any other general purpose forum) Psytrance doesn't have a big following. I don't know what makes you think a forum dedicated to something that is quite niche will be super active.
  17. I wholeheartedly agree regarding filteria and crossing mind (though idk if i'd call crossing mind a master quite yet). Filteria's energy and sound design makes up for some of his over repetition and at times, unimaginative melodies. Crossing mind's glorious melodies and style make up for his overbearing kicks. IMHO e-mantra doesn't belong on the list, though he is close. I've been more impressed with Nebula Meltdown's single album than e-mantra's discography. Nebula Meltdown's sound design and composition is on a different plain, placing him much closer to being considered a master than even crossing mind. Nebula meltdown is unique in a way many others dream of. Not to dog on e-mantra too hard, some of his tracks such as voyager li, praying forest, and approaching nibiru have a special place in my heart Other notable acts include D5 and artifact303. D5's seemingly simplistic sound and melodies have grown on me greatly. What doesn't seem like much at first turns out to be well thought out and meticulous. Artifact303 is also up there with his rich sound and galactic melodies.
  18. more rytm action https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsxjUI1OTdI
  19. the 707 generally speaking can sound good... idk about goa though. You can't tune the damn thing unless you get a moded unit or mod it urself. My buddy modded his 909 and it sounds amazing. I'd say probably not for goa unless you mod it.
  20. grendel drone commanders are cool as fuck. My buddy has one and they sound nice! Dream studio would include : quiet, acoustically sound dedicated room close to where i sleep my gear piss jars everywhere
