  5. Can't really comment on USA as I am in Denmark and this is an International forum. Maybe ask on isratrance in the North America (There are members from across USA) section for better advise.

But usually the best events worldwide (those i have played at) are not inside commercial clubs but rather in rented warehouses (the rave concept) or other non commercial facilities. The only good "clubs" IMO are located in Germany.

  6. We can't limit ourselves and add too many tags (like this is tribal, this is too sci-fi, this is experiemtal, this is acid) otherwise the list would narrow and exclude a lot of classics :).

When music like my first album indeed is Tribal trance and still IMO not much to do with Goatrance, why should it not be called tribal ?

  7. BTW Do you plan on releasing another track in the same style some day? I'd really like that :)

It's very hard to make music the same way as 15 years ago. As a musician I have evolved and do things differently today. So I doubt I will make a similar track. But my music will still be made in the same direction and with the same vision.

On the subject of Elysium, Elysium & cosmix - the vision (the version off that Transient records morning trance compilation that I've forgotten the name of)

It's from the Transient Compilation :

    Transient Dawn

    http://www.discogs.com/Various-Transient-Dawn/master/57781

Actually I am speaking to Cosmix about making a remix CD of this track.

  8. I have never been a fan of IM's music. BUT what I do not understand is why people who complain about how "amazing" they were in the beginning contra today still go and see them "live" (or buy their new CD's) when they know it wont live up to their expectations? It's like these people hope for a miracle they know wont happen. Furthermore you pay money to a band who's music you don't like. Beats me why.

    I say move on ;)

  9. @ Mars

I did not say you as in "Mars" ignore free releases. I was speaking in general terms as many people seem to have the opinion that a CD releases is more worthy. But I wish more forums would include free releases as well as Digital download releases in their sections and votes as most, as an example, Techno and House forums has.

I am aware of the huge amount of work such a vote generate. But I still have to stick to my opinion seeing the categories and choices on psynews. I just feel time has evolved from only including the usual "Best CD" release.

As I said it's your choice but I still hope it's ok I speak my concerns? And maybe things can be done different next time. After all why have these votes if only a small part of music out there is allowed to be voted for?

  10. No Ektoplazm releases whatsoever?

You are welcome to have a look at my list of major netlabel releases in 2009:

    http://tinyurl.com/ydjmxjw

(We already have 250+ responses... so it's not minor stuff.)

That's an issue I raised here before because I think free releases are being ignored in various forums when it come to polls and votes such as this. Also where is the category "Best Live Recording 2009" ? Of course its up to you Mars to do what you fee like but it would be more fair (and up-to-date) to include free releases too. I know you say it's a logistic problem but hey all 2009 CD releases was not only released on Psyshop. We have had the debate before and let's face it and stop beating around the Bush. Just because an artist is released on a CD does not make the artist more professional or make the music better. Its a piece of cake really to get a CD release these days as 80% of all labels have no quality control whatsoever or you can easily produce your own CD and get it ona shop such as Psyshop where there's also no quality control whatsoever.

Why not just leave it up to people to fill in what releases they prefer (Instead of you adding releases) and add these categories too?:

    Best Free release 2009

    Best Recorded live set 2009

    Just my 2 cents :)

  11. i could say the same about kox box that psychedelic doesn't mean putting together different sounds to make music sound more intelligent but like you said its all about taste. ;)

Koxbox did not just put sounds together to sound intelligent. They had a specific reference to the music and what it was aimed to do to the person on the floor (or in the corner listening) and they were spot on and IMO the masters at that time (later releases can be debated). My opinion will always be that the early Koxbox was pure trippy psychedelic music made for one purpose. To trip you out big time. It had nothing to do with trying to be intelligent. I know the guys and that was not what they had in mind.

I only used your reference to "powerful" because it's interesting to see how big a gap there are in people's minds regarding what's psychedelic and what isn't. It was not an attack on your taste or opinion. I think I made it very clear too in my previous post :)
