  2. Broken Symmetry on Eccentric Beats & Mercurynation - broadcasting Monday, June 20 www.mercurynation.com (both 128kbps & 48kbps streams are now available to accomodate both broadband & dialup listeners!) Download at: www.krelmatrix.com Today's show is the "Krelm just-back-from-vacation" edition. This means for the first half of the show, I'll be featuring my breaks mix from Feb. 2005 titled Gonzo Beats. It's a breakbeat-driven ode to the late & great Hunter S. Thompson recorded after a long tequila-filled night of "mourning". The guest mix is from Greek progressive artist Drone, who have recently released an album on the label Headstick Recordings (sister label of Joystick Music). Drone is the duo of Dimitris Magglaris (aka DIMA) and Giorgos Kokkinos (aka GIO RED) from Thessaloniki, who have been producing music together for 5 years. Their style encompasses a number of influences, with the outcome being a lush tribal-infused atmospheric trip with massive bass sounds (and coincidentally some of the most played tunes on my show in recent months ). The guest mix showcases a more peaktime feel of the Drone DJ sets, featuring a heavy dose of artists such as Beckers, Fitalic, Infusion and Chriss Source amongst many others. 5. I'll definitely be there! Voov has been the hilight of my summer for the last 2 years. Yes and no - I think it's more like they don't book the same artists/DJs until a few years have passed. I've seen some repetitions in the lineups, but only after 4-5 or more years. There are the obvious exceptions of the guys that play every year (Antaro, Scotty, Sabaii Sabaii).
  6. Oops - just read this now. There is both a 128 and 56k stream available if you tune in from www.mercuryserver.com (both Eccentricbeats and Mercuryserver carry the same stream). Both mixes from the show will be on my site (www.krelmatrix.com) soon - I'll post something here when they are up.

  8. Broken Symmetry on www.eccentricbeats.com - broadcasting Monday, May 2 Download at: www.krelmatrix.com Chat at: www.sonicblend.com/chat/ ____________________________________________ For this week's show, I will be featuring the talented Leipzig-based DJing duo Feenstaub. This pair, consisting of DJs Phil Alicke (previous Broken Symmetry guest) and Steve B has been tearing up eastern Germany dancefloors since they first began to share the decks in early-2005. With a musical style that can range from the most etherial of progressive upwards to storming psytrance, Feenstaub has the versatility and skills to move any audience they encounter. Phil is additionally one of the most experienced and respected progressive DJs in this part of Germany, having been one of Leipzig's premier dancefloor technicians for over a decade. info: www.philter-music.de For the first hour of the show, I'm mixing up my most abstract selection of tunes to date, with a mixture of downtempo, minimal and electro beats (blame it on Yaniv!). Immediately following Broken Symmetry is the show Yao presents Filth - we'll be sharing the chat room and also hopefully a few listeners. ____________________________________________ info: Broken Symmetry feat. Download at: http://www.krelmatrix.com Chat at: www.sonicblend.com/chat/ -------- Monday is the Hadshot show! My guest is none other than the dirty groovemaster extraodinaire DJ Yaniv Tal. Amongst his work running the long-successful label Hadshot Haheizar (plus all of the other spawn of the Alien News label group) and one of the premier electronic music distributors Cosmophilia Media, Yaniv somehow finds time to jack audiences worldwide with his filthy elektro-flavored beats. With enough CD compilations under his belt to cripple a small elephant, the man knows good music. Please join in as Yaniv treats you to an 80-minute mix of elektrotektribal beats and all things beyond. The first 40 minutes is the usual Dr. Krelm breakstekprogressivetribalkitchensink mashup. And here is you chance to win a free taste of what Hadshot has to offer. We will be giving away free copies of Hadshot's most recent CD Chosen#3 (info: www.discogs.com/release/413508) to 3 lucky people. How to win? Simple - guess the tracklist of Yaniv's mix. The 3 people who can spot the most tracks from Yaniv's mix (broadcasting during the final 80 minutes of the show) will have a copy of Chosen#3 sent to them. 18. So far it's only been released on vinyl (Baroque Records, 2004). Tribal Vision Records has licensed it to CD for their upcoming Lime Light compilation to be released in April. You can also get it as a legal download (better quality than a vinyl rip you could get from p2p) from www.beatport.com
  19. The all-time sinister psytrance classic: X-Dream - Panic in Paradise This song is pure darkness. This new wave of supposed "dark trance" is all flowers and fluffy bunnies in comparison.
  20. Interesting interview. I will be hearing him play a live set on Saturday, so I'm intrigued to hear what it all sounds like. I've heard very little of his music before. Regarding political humor - it's often the best kind since politicians make such easy targets of themselves.

    Prague

Prague - my favorite city in Europe. I'm actually going there in one week. Cool places to visit - during the day, check out the Prague castle. Most of it is sort of boring, but be sure to go up the big church tower. It's a helluva climb, but the view is worth it. There is a huge lookout tower also on the west side of the city (I forget the name, but you will see it - it's fucking huge) that I also highly recommend, especially if you are afraid of heights. If you are into the more morbid side of life, there is a church about one hour outside of Prague that is made out of human bones. I don't know the name, but it's quite famous. Nightlife in Prague is good, but nothing special. If you are into psytrance parties, there is one website you need to know: www.psytrance.cz (it's in czech, but you can figure out where the party listings are) They will list all of the parties in Prague. When either of you figure out more closely the dates that you will be there, send me a PM and I'll get you in contact with a friend of mine there (DJ TV from Oxygen Records) who can get you sorted on any events. There is a little underground club (literally underground) called the Cross Club that has psytrance every Wednesday. I believe that is run by Schwa & Slater from Tribal Vision Records. Really great night - I played there last June and the crowd has wonderful energy. If you are more into the clubby thing, the big club there is the Roxy (www.roxy.cz) - one of the best clubs I've been to. I know that DJ TV has done psytrance events there, and I believe Slater & Schwa sometimes do free Monday night events there. There is a regular (monthly?) Saturday night event there called Zen that caters to more of the progressive house sound - they book DJs like Nick Warren, Anthony Pappa, etc. Pretty good night the one time when I was there. Anyways, fucking cool city - have a blast, and feel free to PM me with any specific questions.
  22. I'll add another word for Germany. Summers here are absolutely phenomenal. Come here in mid-May (in time for the Liquid Times festival), then return to Australia in mid-September when the festival season is done. Then spend the next 6 months trying to pick up the pieces of your brain. And be sure not to miss Voov while you are here.
  23. Best of luck with this one mate! It's going to be a seriously kickin' party. I wish we could be there to hang with ya. Next time.... greets from leipzig
  24. Wicked fucking mix. Way to bring the breaks!!
