  1. Bluetech (can't recall which album) Entheogenic - Entheogenic Asura - Life Squared
  2. Peak Records - Tranchillizer My first listen. sofar a few decent tracks.
  3. that is very true, awesome music but definately only for solo listening. try listening to it on ketamine as well, and see how fast that sends you down a big, black hole LOL. nawww... it's okay. i'll stick with weed and my big headphones.
  4. "I can't believe no ones mentioned Coil!! Musick to play in the dark is one of the darkest, most spine chilling albums i have ever heard. I still have not managed to get through the whole album by myself after smoking a spliff ph34r.gif" You didn't look at the third last post on page 2. I have a few of the coils and find astral disaster to be the best. 15+ min. tracks are always good.
  5. the "Astral Disaster" album by Coil http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astral_Disaster three of the tracks on there are 15 - 20mins long and they are the best on this album. This will definitely satisfy your needs. Many of the coil albums actually bother me because they are really good but just too dark/creepy to play at get-togethers with friends into more-common chill.
  6. J00F and his label to me is primarily minimal techy psytrance. christopher lawrence can be similar at times as well. Listen to J00F's "White Label Republic" DJ mix. The two CDs go from minimal-ish trance right into psy. It's a few years old now but is still so brilliant. As far as his own productions, i find most of them minimal and dark. it always has that psytrance bassline though.
  7. definitely a slight departure from previous albums but certainly worth buying and having. This will get played in my CD player a few times yet.
  8. when i was living in ottawa, canada (as recently as 6months ago) I would listen to the two university stations almost every night. Alot of local DJs playing everything from gay house to psy and industrial had some time slot. Great to tune into local DJs and fairly cutting-edge choons. CBC talk radio is okay too. Depending what they're bantering about.
  9. no, Blade Runner soundtrack. I've had the original for ages. I just got another version of it though.
  10. Pitch Black - Rude Mechanicals (just came out and is decent) Blade Runner (Esper Edition) 2xCD
  11. Thanks. i'll take a look at that reaper too. i've been away for 2 weeks. time to get back on track here. sofar i'm leaning toward cubase still. oh man, it's so expensive for the full ver. 4 though.
  12. thanks guys. just got a new soundcard so i'm going to be installing something very soon.
  13. I have used a friend's Vestax VCI-100 a couple times. Pretty nice. Very compact controller for your computer. Very effective and tactile.
  14. also, i have a question about the cubase naming convention. what is "SX"? is it "studio-2", studio-3, and studio-4?
  15. I am, after 12 yrs of listening to trance and DJing, looking into production. I'm trying to decide on what midi-sequencer to buy. From many reviews read it seems all the top contenders (logic, cakewalk, cubase, etc.) are equally capable. I am primarily interested in buying Cubase Studio 4. Is there anyone who can suggest reasons that I should not go with this sequencer? This will NOT be used for DJing. I will be using it primarily in the production of trance, techno, and chill. Any feedback would be appreciated. )
