Children
Man With No Name - Earth Moving The Sun Artist: Man With No Name Title: Earth Moving The Sun Label: Warner Date: 1998 Track listing: 01. 07'11" Vavoom 02. 05'58" Seratonin Sunrise (MVO Mix) 03. 02'17" Camouflage 04. 07'15" Own The World 05. 05'08" The First Day (Horizon) 06. 05'39" Treacle 07. 06'31" Possessed 08. 07'50" Parallel Universe 09. 01'34" Spaghettification 10. 08'30" Tarantula 11. 06'32" The Breech Review: Reserved opinion for this one ... it depends on the first reason for which you buy an album ... Tracks 3 and 9 make around 2'00" ... don't understand why artists put so short Tracks in their albums ... The good point is that this album contains 2 very good Tracks : Track 2 and 11 (The Breech), which is the best one made by MWNN in my opinion ... Rating : 6/
Guest vm[at]alphatrance[dot]org
A very controversial album. Martin Freeland has been accused of every major sin possible in show-business, ranging from "selling out to a major label" (alluding to his deal with Perfecto) to "those ambient tracks are unnecessary filler." While you can definitely look at it this way, you must keep in mind that this album has been kept in the vaults for quite a while, most tracks being written much earlier than the album release date. It's an interesting release nevertheless, with lots of experimentation and unusual turns. There's been a lot of grumbling about the vocals on "Serotonin Sunrise", but it's actually one of my favourite tracks, especially the MVO mix. "Possessed" and "Tarantula" are also top-notch. This album represents the peak of Martin's recording carreer; his later releases were largely following the same formula. I'm not sure what he's up to these days; he definitely has a talent that's been underused lately. His affair with Atomic seems to be go! ing nowhere at the moment. Guest a_ozi
This is the shit, the stuff you avoid on the pavement. A couple of undigested bits attract you to take a second glance, then your nose plays up. Its a smell you've liked before, but this time its tinged with something else. 2/
Guest Infected Max
I don't care about Martin sold his ass..every artists want to earn money And those who says it's wrong are liers or really stupid. But i must say that's true..this album is a BIG BIG shit. Beurk
karcarman
Ok, as soon as the first track begins, you immediatly understand that Martin hasn't decided to be original, some tracks are more like classical techno music and not really Goa, like "possessed" or "Tarantula". But, in spite of that and of the ridiculous short tracks there are in his album, I do appreciate it. I really love "the Breech", one of the greatest track Martin made. However, I wish he made an album with the essential " Teleport", "Jack in the box", and "Lunar Cycle". Karcarman40
Guest robert[at]smedjeborg[dot]com
MWNN made some really good ones here! for example Vavoom and Possessed.. One of his best ones.. Eartj Mobing The Sun is so much better than Moment of Truth.. 8/
Guest rasmus[at]hotmail[dot]com
Earth Moving The Sun! My favorites is Possessed (fucking best song ever made), Tarantula, Treacle & Parallel Universe. Track nr. 2 has got a vocal witch actually sounds very great and different. This album is one of the best in my collection. I give the disc 8/
Guest Stargazer
What the hell are people complaining? Again I see narrow-minded people here... very sad. I have "The First Day" EP, "Vavoom" single and "Paint a Picture" single so I got tracks 1,4,5,7 and I have track 2 too. And I like those tracks very much, melodic goatrance with some vocals on it, yam! I really should buy this album if the other tracks are good too, but for those tracks I got I give 9/10. Martin Freeland, more stuff like this, plz! I luv it!
Guest cangel[at]msn[dot]com
GARBAGE! It's a shame a man of his talent can waste it on this crap! Only real songs I like is Vavoom and Possessed! I don't mind the vocals so much as the fact that he tried to be different than staying with what made him who he is! It's not the traditional MWNN sound on here. He blames it on the record label demanding he mix in more of a pop sound into his tracks. I see it as a man that was greedy enough to make whatever they wanted as long as he got paid! Very disappointed!
Guest Vir2alExp
Defiantly NOT A GOOD ALBUM!!!! i only like? two songs Own the world and Possessed. 2/10 not more to say i'm Paralyzed. Lsiten to it and you will understand why!!!
Jon Cocco
I agree with the reviewer above. Possessed and Own the World smash ass. Everything else is whatever, making this album NOT GOOD. It's much better then his first album, but thats expected. This should be great. It isn't. And might I add that if he is gonna sing, can't we at least hear what he is saying??? That track would have been awesome if he just kept his mouth shut. It ruins the whole visual mood. I can not imagine because his voice distracts me. You don't sing in goa trance, original or not! Would you jump off of a four story building if you new you might live, just to be original??? Well Martin lived, but this album crashed. seraph
Good album but not as good as MOMENT OF TRUTH... Pity cause he hasn't released anything since this album and that's a shame...he has enormous talent, just he has to put his ideas as soon as possible...heheh...best on album : VAVOOM, SERATONIN SUNRISE, OWN THE WORLD, POSSESSED, TARANTULA, THE BREECH... 8.5/
Guest delin[at]shpongle[dot]com
Own the World at 04:43. Ah, the memories..
Guest Davidtolsn
the short tracks are lame, and tracks 1 and 2 really suck. 4,6,7,8,10,11 are all good, especially own the world. classic man with no name style. 7/
SkeletonMan
Label: Warner Music UK Ltd. Catalog#: 3984-22975-2 Country: UK Released: 1998 Tracklisting: 1 Vavoom! (7:11) 2 Seratonin Sunrise (MVO Mix) (6:58) Vocals - Micky Banks 3 Camouflage (2:17) 4 Own The World (7:16) 5 The First Day (Horizon) (6:08) Vocals - Mark Gardener 6 Treacle (6:39) 7 Possessed (6:32) 8 Parallel Universe (7:50) 9 Spaghettification (1:34) 10 Tarantula (8:30) 11 The Breech (6:31) Notice how some people, the more they try to appear cool, the more they fail miserably? Marilyn Manson, Axl Rose, the guy from Ugly Kid Joe, anyone?! Well, Martin Freelander is facing the same problem here and there on Earth Moving The Sun. At least on Seratonin Sunrise where singer Mickey Banks is doing the best he can to sound like a bad boy struggling with some really ... really (!) lame lyrics. Please leave such tasks to Massive Attack or Underworld, thank you! What else we got here? Well, the album is out on Perfecto and it shows and not in a good way As excited I was about Moment Of Truth, as ungrabbed this leaves me. I mean, a favourite track here has to be something like Treagle, which is just a nice little track, but at least staying somewhat true to the psy/ambient genre. Tracks like the opener Vavoom, Seratonin Sunrise, Own The World, The First Day (Horizon), well, basically, ALL tracks instead land in some psy/club-trance/border techno category I've never been into. So, a great disappointment? Well, yes, cause Martin seemed to have all the potential on Moment Of Truth, but what we are treated here is fast food easy consumerable, forgettable, twelve on the dozen type of trance. Which is sad cause the last tracks on this album works better than the first half and gives reason to believe he still knew what it was all about. Parallel Universe certainly stays closer to psy even if it may need to be played at the darkest hour not to have me thinking it's cheese ;o) And my favourite here, closing track The Breech, isn't bad either. But if you like melodic club trance with edge (I'll give Martin that!), you may very well love this album.
Manuser
Vavoom is THE TRACK ! I think the album is not too bad on the whole, but well less goa trance than his other stuff...
Fuse
the first track is pure definition of morning trance feeling and the 7the track is so uplifting and very hard bassline considering it's time age, good album
radi6404
Most tracks of this album rock, especially own the world and Parallel Universe, this tracks are so emotional and with different synths than other psychedelic trance tracks, he alzo improved his percussion in that album, in moment of truth he used a very horrible percussion but here i like the percussion alzo. Examples that this album rocks are that i know much people that don´t listen psy but have tracks like parallel universe, everyone is singing the melody of it while hearing it because it´s aktually very good, of course 8/
Charlie
It's an okay album, can sound good if you're in the right mood but it doesn't really compare with his debut album. It's kinda clubby too which is, well... clubby. Would have preferred a goa album but it's still pretty good. What a crap post this is. I'll stop now. qa2pir
I have the version from EastWest Japan so the tracklist is a bit different. However, think "Possessed", "Treacle" and "Own the World" are really good.
