1. Interesting.. This track was supposed to be used at a art exebition? Or was it used?

Wonder what kinda art it was since the track is supposed to "reflect" the acctual art? Any one knows?

    btw.

This is not a ambient track. Its more a piece of art or a experimental Drone track :)

Read this comment here. I assume he's not just talking shit: LINK

And yes, it's a piece of art. Like Aphex twin. However, when music passes this fine line between music as music and music as art, I can't really appreciate it anymore. :(

  2. Oh.. Sorry man. I didnt see that. But that wasnt what I was trying to prove anyway. I just hope you see my point. The Luciana track is Drone music. Its not supposed to be variated and "entertaining" as "Mystery of The Yeti" i just think it was a bad comparesing to a great travell track ;)

    peace?

    204818

    Yes.

But MOTY is still better for "travelling"! ;)

  3. Lu-ci-ana was released in 1994, before they where world known. This is their first release as Juno Reactor. So I think your comment about this track only beeing respected because its Juno is wrong!

    204810

It wasn't before Juno got big that this release got the attention it has, I think.

And who are you to compare "Mystery of The Yeti 1 & 2" with Juno's "Lu.ci-ana" Cinos? No offence on your musical skills at all.. But look at this.

Juno Reactor - Lu.ci-ana = Drone music.. Drone music is supposed to be..

well you called it boring, I call it inovating.. (call it a trip through space or whatever) This is music that damands a better ear then with other music styles that just lets you have sounds and variation. Remember that commercial pop music is build on the principle that you love.. I also love good psy/ambien/chill music that "entertains" me.. I'm not ignorent or anything. But I also love and respect Drone music. Eventhough it can be a bit "hard" for some people to apriciate. But thats a good thing. Wouldnt want everyone to love my music. That would make me less special.. heheh. (kinda kidding here)

Anyhow.. I think its important to look at music in other angles then just whats entertaining and whats not.

    204810

Have you heard MOTY? Its not "entertaining", it's in fact quite monotone, calm and droney. But the atmosphere it creates is just so great. It's definetly intelligent and subtle, not by the same formula as pop.

  4. Infected mushroom is commercial and still has some intelligent sounds.

Astral projection is very commercial & WHOW, they made alot of wicked tracks.  From old skool to commercial, it was just THAT good that they got famous.  They diserved it.  The music had soul & creativity in it.

    204753

Astral doesn't make commercial music, they're just popular.

  5. I cant imagine that anyone would say that Pleiadians is crap though, because its quality music, its part of the history for me

    204792

I didn't say it's crap, exactly, I said it's bland and noisy. Watered down. Sure, there may be quality, but not the kind of quality I've been after.

I'll give it a few more listens though.

  6. @Cinos : This album sounds BLAND ? Do you even understand the basic terminology or you just wanted to sound clever ? Blah ! This world is full of 'wise' cretenous people. You can be clever with your mom, but not here, on GLOBAL Trance site where THIS ALBUM is considered as ONE OF THE BETTER ALBUMS ever and you only heard it yesterday...What kind of trancer you are where you heard THIS album just yesterday after all of us SUGGESTED you to hear it ? I can understand the taste but you actually ASKED us to EXPLAIN to you why are the tracks so bland, noisy and random, where 95 % of us DON'T EVEN FIND THEM BAD as you presented. What looney brain you've got !

    204788

I've been busy discovering other classics. Like Feeling Weird (it grew on my very quick, hyperspaced is so damn good), Let's Turn On (so wild and throbbing!) and Beyond The Infinite, which doesn't need any words.

Not everybody likes this album or thinks it's the best ever. Read the posts in this thread. And apparently I'm one of them.

  7. Now. I have to put this in a way so that you won't think I'm just trying to irritate you...

I just got IFO. Not a CD copy, mind you, and that I'm very happy about. I put it on, pushed play, and WTF. Every track is very bland, noisy and "random". Could somebody explain this? Everybody speaks heaven and gold about this album, and I just don't get it.

    Damn, I feel lonely. :(

  8. After some thought, I have come to the following conclusion: In no particular order...

    Hallucinogen - Trancespotter

    Hallucinogen - Space pussy

Shpongle - Divine Moments Of Truth

    Infinity Project - Hyperspaced

Astral Projection - Searching for UFOs

Do you agree with any of these being in the top 5? Not? List your own!

  9. i really think that if this piece of music would be made by me (well i don't know sh*t about making music but still...) everybody would just ignore and dislike it.. but cause it's made by JR many like it..i think

    204261

I think so too. The name "juno reactor" just adds that "aura of goodness" around it. The imagination can do wonders. If you think something is good, it most usually is.

IMHO, Juno aren't really THAT good, except on Beyond The Infinite. (please don't kill me for this comment)

  10. And to be honest I find the Mystery of the Yeti rather boring. But that's just a matter of taste.  ;)

    204076

You can't possibly find it boring if you like Luciana! It's a journey of pure bliss, always something happening, constantly changing too, unlike L.

  11. Vinyl can last in a playable state for 250+ years I'm told. If kept right. CDs are a fifth of that at best. So, it all really depends on whether you expect to be bitten by a vampire or discover the fountain of yoots or acquire longevity-inducing elixirs, nanobots, or other esoteric stuff. :)

    204132

But that's if you don't listen to them much, I think. And then the whole point is lost.

But what happens to CDs after 50 years? They suddenly decompose? Shouldn't they do it gradually?

  12. Luciana is boring. It has it's good moments, but it repeats too much. It'd go well as a ten-minute track, maybe 20, but no longer. Unlike the artists on Mystery of the yeti 1&2, Juno can't make good ambient this long.

I heard it was supposed to be a soundtrack for a art installation somewhere. That'd explain the repetiviness.

  13. It ALL comes down to how you treat your records. For me, I would say that Vinyl has a longer lifetime than cds. I have 5 year old cds that are practically unplayable now. Lucky enough I have made copies of all my cds. And when I DJ, I never bring originals (Only vinyl originals).

    204050

Eh? Do you shave your CDs against sandpaper while not listening?! Or just throw them against walls?

I have 10 year and older CDs and they all play perfectly without a scratch.

But, my experience is that vinyls are deformed a small, small bit everytime the needle touches them, and sooner or later they WILL be all raspy. Is this incorrect?

  14. Your talking about a crew who more or less invented or helped to invent Psy-trance.

    203825

They have had some impact on the psy scene. But most of what they do has been made before. I'm not saying their first three albums weren't good. They just weren't the first psy around.

And the "quality" of their last album wouldn't justified even if it was one of the pioneers Simon Posford or Ben Watkins who made it.
