Yes, but old things do not have to sound old. I think the second comment means there is very little percussion and variation. Though first, Infinity Project can't beat Shpongle.
-
I'm serious. I haven't made psy-ambient yet but I just might try after I finish my newest, cool yet monotonous psytrance. I'll be sure to hook you up with samples.
I make my music with tools that cost approximately 50 bucks, BTW...
I'm so poor. Because of this most of my stuff sounds amateurish.
-
I don't have any problem with the oldness in itself, I sentenced it wrong. The thing is it doesn't have the quality it would have if made today.
No, that's not right either. I'll just say it sounds too simple, and it would be more complex and quality-filled if made today.
Not really that either. Damnit.

I think you had to be there, and go through that to understand how important this release was for the scene. Im not trying to sound rude or anything with saying that. I am just stating that I can understand if someone finds it boring and not so forward going. I think the 2 releases are as Ukiro said are masterpieces... Damn, they are still in my record case. Along with my Eat Statics and Juno Reactors, some records stay there forever, some dont hehe
He didn't say Weird was a masterpiece. Or did he?
Anyway, I like plenty of really old music, but this just is a bit too simple.

What Shpongle track are you talking about?
-
I try so hard to get into it. But it seriously think I could produce music of the same quality. Not so with Shpongle. The "mystic" aspect Shpongle and MOTY have wasn't IMHO present on this album yet.
And what do I mean with old? Exactly that, old. Not all old music sounds that way. Take Mystery Of The Yeti. It's still ahead of it's time.

7)BEAUTIFUL track? Astral Projection - Liquid Sum
-
Personally, I have to say they're a bit overrated. Neither Weird or Mystical are THAT good. Both sound rather old and unengaging (at least right now).
-
And what about me then? It doesn't matter. As long as I have the music and have paid for it, I feel complete.
I'm like you, just a bit less so, as I really like buying all possible CDs and completing my collection, but the release date doesn't matter the least.
-
I was thinking, do any of you collect CDs only for the "rare" value, or is it only about having the music on CD?
Are re-release worth less to you?
-
It WILL be different, just as Tales was different from Shpongled. But Simon very seldom does outright bad music, so it's safe to hope for the best.
Anyway, the album won't be out this year, so if it's bad, the next year is cursed as well. I wonder if it's be delayed as all albums tend to.

Downloading is bad.

Infinity Project. Their Mystical experiences is a bit TOO old, as is Feeling Weird. I can still listen to both, but I much rather replace them with Astral, Shpongle, Hallucinogen and even 1200 mics...
-
Who doesn't like driving to music? It's dangerous though, and everytime I do this and have to stop because of some slowpoke, my road-rage-o-meter shoots through the roof.
-
I've always been wondering why this album is much more psy than any of his other albums.
-
Don't buy. It's musical fast food, empty and soulless. Not like the glory days of BP Empire. I am a fan but this is just too bad.

there's something strange about this release:
SFX is supposed to be composed of Avi Nissim & Lior Perlmutter according to Phonokol , and you're talkin about a SFX album made by Avi,Guy & Yanniv but not by Lior, strange isn't it?
When you know that today Astral projection is only Avi & Lior , & they always work together since the beginning (like in SFX - Butterfly Trip from 1994), how do you explain in your SFX album Lior didn't appear?
(i'm checkin the edel catalogue currently about this release)
It could be some sort of bootleg-type thing, or a promo, which never was released officially. However, just like the other SFX album, it isn't good if you ask me.

My favourite is Hallucinogen for sure, the worst maybe is Beast (Spawn EP). Didn't like this EP too much. I'd also appreciate it if he would make more psy than ambient because I don't like ambient too much (but I have to agree that the first Shpongle album and Hallucinogen In Dub are masterpieces). But that's just my taste...
I haven't heard this one. Care to describe it? (and maybe link to something that lists all Posford projects?)
-
I'd say that Shpongle is the best he's done. And what about worst? While I wouldn't call it bad, Younger Brother is a bit uninspired...

Sorry for bumping an old topic, but I'll just have to say that "guy", post 8 I believe, is just stupid. Shpongle, kids music? You just can't understand it.

Graham isn't on Shpongle though.
