  1. I dont think its this version from his album, the version i have is almost 15 minutes long.

Got it from an old dat tape from my older brother, recorded at thailand @ around 99'-00'.

Will pick up some of his albums if i get a chance :)

Curious to hear more music by NR.

    Again, thanks for posting :)

Nuclear Ramjet produced a lot of fillers (IMO) in their albums.

I can recommend some tracks from Aeon (solo project of one of the members of NR), the track "Osho" is quite well known (very good, key changes inside), and the track "contribution" is really excellent (will post it in acid-brain's topic).

  2. Manuser is a smart guy, he knows that nobody listens to the countless recommendations here, but he also knows that everybody wants to be the guy with last word on the mastering. Nice way to get us all to listen to a great track.

    Worked fairly well apparently!

On a serious note, agree with your statement, I was actually thinking to post this track in your thread about less known old school tracks!

  3. Haha U.F.Orb happy coincidence!!

psychasm, RL and all the others, I realized what happened. The mastering is actually fine like you said, yesterday I was trying to make a compilation and by doing so adjusting the volume of every tracks, and Nuclear ramjet - Minas Morgul sounds very low.. that's why when I put the volume to the max it sounds harsh, so I guess you are all right, nothing can be done. Thanks anyway.

(was also a subtle way to make some of you discover this masterpiece ... (jk))

  4. Hi,

I have zero knowledge in sound engineering but anyone can tell this track sounds bad:

Yet it is an amazing track (near perfection story telling for me).

I have a free software that I downloaded a while ago, it is called Audacity. I would love to have a better version of the track, of course no miracle expected but something that sounds a bit better.

Where to start with such a basic software? is it something possible ?

Or even better if someone can do a good job with the track I am willing to pay a few euros for it. Or perhaps there is no hope?

    Cheers.

  5. And this one today, like 20 years later!

It is funny how clear the memories are, I instantly knew from the first seconds it was a track I had on a tape but never knew the name (named it "glacial wind" back in the day). And the break down at 5:05 is what convinced me it indeed is the track.

So it must be the last track I had to id since I started listening to goa trance, finally, what a tough job it was :D

  6. 1: Loud - 5 billion stars (Nano records)

2: Oforia - Read more... (MDMA music)

3: Ultimate Xperience - Lazarus rising (Neogoa records)

4: Shivattva - The tales of Harvia (Treetrolla records)

5: Vanderson - Visions of tomorrow (Grooveproject)

6: VA - Let there be light (Zenon records)

7: Crossing mind - Beyond duality (Suntrip records)

8: Morphic resonance - The city of moons (Suntrip records)

9: Nervasystem - Brainradio (Phantasm records)

10: Sensient - The end of all things (Zenon records)

  7. Omnivox is such an interesting artist, his tracks are entertaining, never boring. He manages to always catch attention with the structure of his tracks. I hope he'll release another album in the future.

Favorites: Modus Operandi, What Happens Next, Moonwalk, No More Illusions, Weapon of Mass Enlightenment.

  8. You want to know why there is so low feedback? :)

People don't dare to write their honest opinion here... I get more pms with reviews as reviews that are written here... Reason? Too negative? Suntrip is uncool now (logic after 12 years promoting goa) or any other reason... Not sure, but I know people dont dare to write about us :) Too much baised stuff... Too much chance to justify why you like something. In this forum the personality of the persons (well, the picture they hang of themselves) behind projects is more important as the project itself mostly... And well, this results in less and less reviews. People don't like the chance of being bashed. I could publish some stuff, but not sure if the persons would like this...

Example: this release gets 4 5* reviews, 2 4* reviews but non are written here...

Honestly, I have been reading (and writing) reviews on Psynews since 2001 or so (just like you :)), and there was plenty of negative reviews back in the day too.

Only difference today is: almost all labels and artists are members here, and that is why you have to justify every single negative thing you have to say about music. Back then, you did not have to justify your review because people were less sensitive and labels/artists did not get involve.

I can't remember AP, MFG, IM, Dimension 5, Etnica posting on this forum. Neither Phonokol, Matsuri, Dragonfly, TIP records lol :)

I am not saying labels and artists should not get involved on Psynews that is not my point. Just saying it (IMO) justifies (among other things) the lack of reviews.

But I am very surprised that some people don't dare to write positive reviews about music, that is honestly the first time I read such thing when it comes to goa trance. About full on it would less surprising since this style is bashed on this forum, but goatrance it surprises me a lot, unless this is the Filipe Santos effect lol :)

Back on topic, I did not like The Inner Shift much, part of the reason was the mastering but also the sound in itself that I found immature, I like Beyond Duality much more!! Some melodies sound totally wrong and that is a shame but there are plenty of brilliant moments here! Track 2 starts with an awesome emotional melody, then gets a bit too crazy for me but still excellent track. Track 3 is my favorite as it has the perfect balance between morning trance and dance floor oriented goa.

The quality of the mastering makes a great difference, this is an optimistic album for any season but I must say it works well for cold winter days [tribute to radi].

Congrats to Crossing Mind and the rest of the team.

  9. It is funny how sometimes perceptions can differ a lot. I read above the word "boring" and "uninspired". For me this is the opposite of boring, cheesy YES, predictable YES, overuse of vocal samples YES, but boring? It is catchy. And I don't think it is uninspired, the guy manages to produce catchy melodies (does not apply to track 4 though). I can imagine how well this kind of sound can work on the dance floor.

I also disagree with something said above about Talamasca building on his past success. I don't think so. If you listen to this album, you quickly realize it will please the mass because it is made for the dancefloor and has the ingredients that please the mass, but it is superior and more effective than most full on, and more inspired melodic wise. I don't think an album like Zodiac would reach as many people, and that is because it sounds more underground. If Talamasca gets a lot of bookings, I think it is because he found a good recipe that pleases a lot of people, tracks like Sinai, Jungle Storm have nothing to do with it IMO.

Like it or hate it, but listen to "Super hero" and you will quickly understand why Talamasca's sound is liked by many.

The album's title is hilarious, it is club trance we can all agree on that.
