  1. I wouldn't really consider psydub and psychedelic downtempo as ambient. Ambient to me is much more flowing and beatless, like say Brian Eno. It's very rare that i listen to ambient, but when i do it's always a wonderful experience. One release that i enjoy very much is Kindheitstraum by Eric Delay. It has some minimal and glitch influences, and a lot of real life recordings. Kindheitstraum means childhood memories (AFAIK) and so there is a lot of recordings of children playing, it always brings me straight back to my childhood, and it gives me this feeling of endless summer. Imagine you live in an appartment building and you can hear every child in the building runnning around in the streets having the time of their life with all the innocence and naivety that children are so full of. Maybe my description is a little out there, but I can highly recommend it! http://fslab.net/releases/frag012-eric-delay-kindheitstraum/
  2. The fourth picture looks awesome! It makes the room look much bigger, i love it
  3. I'm an atheist in the sense that i don't believe there's an all-knowing, immortal or otherwise "infite" god or being. I guess that's what people think of in terms of monotheistic religions. But maybe there are beings out there powerful enough to be considered godlike by us simple earthlings, say for example a god who controls or otherwise has an impact on The Milky Way.
  4. I can't wait! I've been a shpongle fan for a very long time now, been loving them since back when i didn't even know what psy- or goatrance even was! The only reason i'm psy-fan today is because i had a blast when i traveled to see them in London at a Twisted event a little less than a year ago, the best decision i've ever made! So Shpongle holds a very special place in my heart. And no matter how dissapointed some die-hard fans might get, i can't imagine Simon and Raja releasing something that isn't of the highest quality.
  5. Karma makes much better sense when you count in the notion that we are all one. It's a bit like peeing in a pool, eventually it dissolves, but you're stille swimming in your own piss!
  6. I'm a buddhist, have been so for about two years now. I used to be an atheist/agnostic (some might say being atheist/agnostic is part of being a buddhist, but there are differences) and was VERY skeptic towards all eastern religions, back then i thought all buddhists sounded like deluded ego-trippers, which is kinda sad, because i really knew NOTHING about buddhism. For a long time i tried to deny my buddhist beliefs, because let's be honest, alot of that stuff is really out there! But i eventually realised that it made perfect sense to me, a point of no return if you will. I actually imagined there to be more followers of eastern religions on this board, but i'm kinda glad to see people haven't just jumped on the bandwagon because of the eastern/indian influences in psytrance
  7. I've always found music as a brain-function very interesting. The way carefully orchestrated sequences of sounds somehow make sense to brain still baffles me. Especially when you look at certain styles of music, like say western music compared to eastern music, if you played Ravi Shankar to beethoven i bet he'd dismiss as the work of a lunatic. A few weeks ago i saw a documentary about music, and they argued that when you listen to music you like, the areas of the brain that coordinate movement are very active! Ergo, when you listen to music, your brain is already imagining how your supposed to dance to it! So there's no dancing without music, and apparently there's no music without dancing either!
  8. By "admitting it" i mean both to the forum and themselves. I think a lot of people know they're doing something wrong by downloading, but they kind of lie to themselves saying it's their only option. By checking a little box on a forum you're admitting that you have the option of buying but you don't use it, and when you look at the current results of the survey it doesn't really feel good knowing you're the only one who's not contributing. I hope i'm not offending any downloaders out there, i'm just speaking from my own experience.
  9. Well i can imagine that a lot of people who download illegally won't like admitting it. I often do it to find old stuff like say Astral Projection (a lot of old releases can be downloaded on the web legally anyway). I'm kind of new to psy and goa so free releases and the classics have been fine for me for a long time. But lately i've been getting more and more picky (which is kind of a good thing) so i ordered some stuff from Suntrip, best money i've ever spent! And it feels good to know that you're buying from people who can actually use the money, and aren't big corporate record labels. Edit: I didn't vote, but if my finances can handle it in the long run i'll hopefully be checking box number 2 at some point.
