  1. Musics effect upon you has nothing to do with it's complexity...and might I also suggest trying to listen to more of it? Have you ever, for instance, heard one of Brahms piano trios? Saint-Saens Piano Concertos? Mahlers symphonies...etc etc...I have a feeling you dont know much "classical" music to be much of a judge. You want psychedelic? Listen to Bartok's later string quartets...
  2. I think I will flame you, actually...how much "classical" have you heard? Are you referring precisely to that era or to all of so-called "classical" music? Regardless... First of all the word "rich" is wholly subjective...I can't argue that as I don't even know what it means...as for complexity? Well...melodically, the complexity of most classical pieces far surpasses that of any Shpongle song I've heard (all of them). Harmonically, just the same...rythmically? Yea, you guessed it... Textures? Shpongle gets some foothold there but by no means can they really be compared if one is to be honest..."depth"? Shpongle certainly has lots more hidden things going on...of course, it depends...shostakovich or mahler have tons more going on, depending on one's perspective...they just lack little fart noises and breathing noises and small giggles, etc etc...... Once again I must state: there has been and never will be another Mozart, and this comes from someone who isn't particularly fond of Mozart (though, not too familar, either, given his body of work...I must say, though, I'd take Requiem over a Shpongle album any day ) So yea, anyway, you're talking out of your ass.
  3. I can't...I just read it a while back in a similar topic. I'm not in Europe or anything so...
  4. I can tell a lot of people here don't know much about DJing...and I even I don't know that much really... I saw Dmitri once (well twice, actually, but the first time I can't remember heh) and he was probably the most intersting as far as mixing goes...
  5. Supposedly the faster part in My head feels like a frisbee (the part with the horns) is from some european (I can't remember which country anymore, but I think it was northern Europe) morning show.. I guess I don't care anymore about these things although when I first heard about it, I was a little dissapointed...
  6. Let me know when you do because I don't believe you. I want to see you make some realistic flamenco tremolo or strumming or rest-stroke runs Can you even tell the difference between the sound (just on one note, let's say) between a flamenco guitar and a classical guitar? Between a nice flamenco guitar and a crap one? Do you know what the difference in playing technique is between classical and flamenco that causes the sound to be different? I'd like to hear a real sounding electric guitar too...but I think that would be easier to fake...but again: can you make a jazz guitar tone vs. a heavy metal lead vs. a country/blues player...I have yet to hear a true to life replication of any type of guitar tone...or pretty much any real instrument at that, though they're getting closer with phyiscal modeling type synthesis...
  7. Ha! I think you quite missed the point...to me it's more about this attitude that your opinion MATTERS...what exactly is the point of saying such such and such is the best such and such...or that you like these things more than others (especially when I'm certain there is tons out there that you haven't yet listened to...) I see nothing wrong with recommendations and discussions, but in this forum I see absolutely no depth to it...it's all just I like/I don't like...best/worst...it's making lists for crying out loud... And please don't forget that I clearly see the hypocrisy in my messages...I'm just trying to stir people a little, that's all haha
  8. Cut this shit out! And to answer your question: whatever kind I like...
  9. There's no such thing...it is a creation of yours based entirely on your subjective experience of listening to certain tracks or music while you have a hangover... That being said, I think any trance is horrible hangover/too fucked up music...BOOM BOOM BOOM...bad idea...
  10. There should be a "who fucking cares?" option...
  11. Music that requires the use of drugs doesn't really hold much weight as very good music (maybe functionally it is good ), I think...and then there are the moral issues haha. Go read the Off-topic forum, there's some discussions (arguments) about the whole issue there...
  12. Quick question: do you really need monitors for producting music?! I mean, what exactly is the purpose; if you were to use really nice headphones, or a really nice set of speakers what's the difference? I guess what I'm saying is: please explain monitors to me!
  13. Haven't you read my reviews?! Don't you know my top 10 favorite songs for this last week?! I'm the best music fan and everyone knows this by now and flocks to my posts like flies to shit!
  14. I like some things! Don't you too?! If anybody disagrees, I will ARGUE!
  15. Hey guys it's the end of the year now...do you have a favorite "favorite" thread in the last year? I think the one about some albums or songs or some shit was pretty good...or, wait, was it that one? Maybe it was the other one...
  16. Ha! Well mine certainly isn't any better

  18. Some prog-metal band did a H.P. Lovecraft concept album I don't remember the band but it was based off of the Unknown Dream Kadath (I think that's what its called)... I never liked Lovecraft too much...maybe I'll give him another shot one of these days...
