  1. ah and around 140 bpm, for beatmatch, its about %0.7 increase or decrease in pitch thats equivalent to 1 bpm. as a checking measure to aid your ears, you can check if the % slider is at an integer mulltiple of %0.7 or close to that.
  2. have any knowledge of music theory? good idea to improve yourself in that direction also, and dive into harmonic mixing..
  3. i like the island from bamboo forest. it may sound dull at first, but some concentration on short samples coming in and going out, you get to see what they tell i play it frequently
  4. i think it was a vinyl or cd. we didnt have mp3's in those times i think. probably, e-rection - smoke my dang a long - from the year 92. maybe the first psy (or goa? whatever you call it) track produced?
  5. i m there on 25th and on. find el brujo and he'll direct you to me or search among workers since i ll be working as volunteer till 29th. my name is ahmet. or any way i can find you? or anyone? all positive spirits are welcome anytime
  6. Hey folks, as some of you know, i have a radio program going on for 7 years for now and 3 programs later, I will have a break. the program is basically a psy & goa live set. a good network of people and some small trance centers have been formed througout the globe during the program times, and for the last 3 progams, you are invited to join us and share the spirit. i would be very happy. for access, open this url in your media player http://www.radyobogazici.net:7008/ every wednesday, 19:00 - 21:00 Turkey time and 17:00 - 19:00 GMT
  7. sorry for late response. yes each channel is a Zx1 vector, but each element in that vector should be a 16 bit or 24 bit (or 8 bit etc.. depends on the quality of your soundfile) number.
  8. there are mixable keys, so you can have keyflow in a harmonically mixed set for examples, you can listen to my radio program
  9. a huge bpm-key-keycode database anyone? i volunteer for such a thing, but cant manage alone..
  10. i think pleiadians should win with trip tonite
  11. i think, a new sub genre called new school is not useful in terms of identifying music, it is useful in a historical manner. so it shouldn't be in genre catalogs. i am against catalogs, but thats another topic. however, the work done with suntrip records is much appreciated, thanks Anoebis (and other fellows) for that one. in my thinking, minimal is the most evolutionary way to go, since it bears a contrast and in fact is at the same place with oldschool goa, just gone from a different direction.
  12. we could prepare a database on some forum (perhaps here?) like this, perhaps: artist - track - bmp - key - keycode and the thing could be sorted according to those attributes thats what I have with my custom CD's i use to mix in my programs at radio.
  13. i wish i could help you with the theory but its been years since i last touched matlab, or some production tool. here are some waypoints: with matlab, you can open wav files as x,2 matrices (each column for each speaker and each line for the sample taken each hertz) try to find an algorithm to process this type of matrix, or you'll first have to break the main wav into its frequency groups (ie, high frequency sounds seperated) and thats tricky. and for info on signal processing, you'll need an engineering background, probably.
  14. with a synth, you should be ok if you re suspicious. what about making a huge database of psy tracks with bpm - root key - wheelcode info? that should be quite useful
  15. checking some albums, I figured that what i stated is not right. there is not full harmony (meaning everything is not put according to their wheelcode), but usually there are groups of 3 4 tracks harmonically ordered. sorry again, my bad. for the finding keys thing, and speaking about modern music (which uses the major-minor scale) you can determine the keys with a synth, or a program called mixmeister (which is %80 right)
  16. if you have some kind of algorithm for the purpose, you can also use matlab for precise results, but thats quite ticky.
  17. harmonic mixing prolongs trance state, and if you (anyone) want some harmonically mixed sets, you can listen to my radio program every wednesday. i usually go 1 round around the harmonic wheel, so you can hear tracks in any key. www.radyobogazici.net --> canli yayin --> choose server every wednesday 17.00 - 19.00 (gmt) edit: deleted something
  18. menog - menog feels very emotional to me, and the first stages of the maturity cycle of o.chelly - hypnotised was very emotional, nowadays dont listen to anymore
  19. I take my history with trance in two ages. In the first age (since early 90'still 98), we had our own live music in parties that we used for certain purposes, which started as minimal kicks, then, constantly evolving with acid synths and samples into 9 (mostly melodic) layers and then slowly going into minimal again. The whole thing took about 3 hours and we called that 'su'. In the second age, after we quit doing those thingies, i am usually stuck to a single line in some tracks. Nowadays, i am stuck to a synth line in a friend's track called lostbaloon. I have asked him to send me th line, and if he does so, i will be quite happy in the coming times One more line is the sample in kindzadza - may day which starts at 4:30 and the addition of the line that starts in 5:21. He has used similar lines in various tracks, but nothing gives that taste..
  20. should the albums be released in 2005? i am usually 1 or 2 years back and tracks have a huge life span till they mature
  21. I will most probably be helping the guys with the festival and will be there from 25th march and on, so anyone drop me a message if you need a hand there.
