Sorry, but ill have to ask: No tupac? IMO one of the best rappers of all times. Even a poet perhaps. Btw, i like hiphop, psytrance, punk rock, ska, reggae, classical, dub, chill, edm in general, jazz, bossa nova, blues, rnb (specially old stuff like marvin gaye, but today some great tunes are released aswell), MPB (Brazilian popular music or Musica Popular Brasileira ), bossa nova. So to some extent im more like a music in general lover than a psytrance lover, and i must say that except for some jazz, classical and blues, psychedelic dance music in general (im including chill and prog) is the genre that most amazes me and that i dont get tired after 30-1hour listening. Its an awesome genre, and if people dislike it, well, fuck em.

I find Ott's Blumenkraft intro great! It starts as the dude is in a crappy party then suddenly enter his car and starts to listen to great music.

Im just saying: Dont mess with something you aint supposed to. Let them engineers do their jobs. Its hard to learn to master something, and you aint going to learn it in a crappy acoustic room or anywhere outside a studio with a mentor (learn it good). So, just concentrate on the mix. You dont need to worry about mastering. Unless you're doing it for fun and not for releasing your music. In which case it could just get the tune worse.

Its nto the mastering that will make one track clean or punchy. Its the mixing. If a track sounds muddy it wont be because of lack of mastering again its the mixing. Mastering is an art, its supposed to highlight the nuances of a track and not make it punchy or whatever.

I want more dubby chill releases... Stop with the ambient crap haha j/k some ambient is also awesome

Do you know that compressing the master bus is mastering right? Let them mastering engineers do their job. Its what they do best. And you dont need a mastered track to send to the label, if the mix is good and the music is good they'll hire a mastering engineer to master your track.

Unless you have a perfect acoustic room and fresh ears i dont think you should master your tracks. Everything that you got wrong with the mix will just get a lot worst. Just my 2 cents.. Otherwise, mastering in soundforge is just like in any other software.. You put the plugins in chain and do your best so it sounds better than it did before the mastering. You have to put emphasis in the sounds that matter in your track during mastering, whatever it is. Hopefully you got what i meant, im kinda drunk right now hehe..

I dont love twisted.. Its very good but not all the tracks are a 10/10 IMO...While Shpongle 1 is a masterpiece. I like both 2 and 3, but 1 indeed is awesome. Some of the most psychedelic stuff ever was on that album..

Even tho ppl love Hallucinogen i dont find it all that interesting... IMO shmoooon posford (lol) best stuff was shpongle... ever.. After saying that, i dont know what is the best tune ever =( so many... It depends on my mood actually, right now im enjoying some full-on and loads of goa specially old IM.. But a while back i was enjoying a lot of chill. It depends, always =/ ps: audio chemists long long arms indeed rule. hallucinogen got some tunes that are completely uber pure blissfulness.. but most are average IMO.

i also think its spun... in new wave hooker there are loads of breaks and samples
