  1. Several tracks are very good but these 2 are the best of the compil for me. BlackStarrFinale - Rabbit Marker is one of the best Goa tracks this year, that's already a fact. Luis did a superb leap forward into music production. Kudos for that. Space Elves - Tribute To The Wonderboy: Very very good too. I have a comment on Grand Cheff: nice, but the sample talks about shit, so it feels unconvenient when you understand French...
  2. Cover is not 100% final, but I needed something to display. Yes, 2 min extracts are online here. Sure we are Ambient lovers (and speaking for myself, Progressive too). Anoebis and I always considered "Subliminal Melancholies" as a sublime album. We made a first try with Vince/Electrypnose on Opus Iridium, the track was excellent. And since he's a really nice guy, we've kept on discussing this album idea for like 1.5 year. Now it's a reality What's good also is we can at the same time give a break on Goa as we've produced a lot in the past year; and still release quality music for music lovers
  3. Hi Penzoline, thanks for the links. While we're at it, don't you have the Goa Syndrome compilations? Thanks. [edit: seems it's posted on the newsgroup alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.goa-trance 114 days ago, will attempt to get it]
  4. Well, the label is gone, the tracks are free except for a few ones (read notes here and here)...Just like the D5 - Glow EP thread, I think we're in a case where we're past the "limitation period" and we can share the music for the love of the music.
  5. Wow many thanks Tom! Only the music counts, the format is not important.
  6. Please, Is there any way to share with us the music better than with youtube ? Like flacs on sendspace would be just great for instance. Since this vonyl exists only out of a few copies apparently, and Intastella is no more, I don't think anyone would complain much spreading it a little !?
  7. Very sorry to hear that. They used to broadcast good stuff.
  8. I remember we once swapped sections. We got a lot more complaints of people that had to scroll to get to the General. So we switched back.
  9. Space Tribe? Anoebis? Kidding. Well I remember that dude at Zambujeira festival in 2003. He was old but was dancing like crazy! Look at the photo. He's half nude, long hair, tatoos, burnt by the sun. He's so full of energy while dancing, his posture looks like he's doing some kind shaman dancing. Such an impression of freedom! Maybe not the strangest, but surely admirable and unforgiveable.
  10. Same here, that Pleiadians remix is unforgiveable. I always felt it like some orgasmic feeling. A growing tension, and liberation at the end! Filteria's is not a cover btw, it's rebuilt. The other remix he uses live shows it cannot possibly be a cover. And that one gets on the podium.
  11. Sorry for the outage tonight. I put a new backup script live (the old backup thing was really crap) and it didnt go as planned. I had to reboot the server after modifying some system params, but mysql wasn't properly shutdown by the system, causing a nice database coruption... You know the rest of the story. All good now.
  12. 604.be is now open for registration.
  13. Typical year 2000. Maybe the same sample is on some 3DVision compilation or something? They had their creepy moments then.
  14. In August 2001, Psytrance music had completely switched from melodic to minimal, but motivated by some members, Psynews.org started a "contest", giving 3 months for unknown music artists to submit their tracks before a jury would vote and establish a compilation tracklist, the idea being to release the music as a free online compilation. The results were way beyond his expectations as 185 tracks were submitted and so many were so good that a double-CD tracklist was established: CD 1 1. 05'51" Etack: For Red (Russia) 2. 08'26" Psychopat : Spiral Landing (France) 3. 07'29" De-Fect : Bouncing Shrooms And Giggleing Gnomes (Sweden) 4. 11'53" Andromeda : Amiga (Poland) 5. 07'42" Synsun : TNC 2001 (Ukraine) 6. 08'42" Asura : System Babel (Code Eternity Rmx) (France) 7. 09'14" Artha : Controlled (Poland) 8. 10'54" Epsilon : Cosmic Vortex (Creepy Mix) (Finland) CD 2 1. 08'25" Promon : Throbbing Hobbits (Sweden) 2. 08'02" The Bastard : Crispy Crunchy Buffet Beast (USA) 3. 09'26" De-Fect : Germs, Germs, Psychedelic Germs (Sweden) 4. 07'16" Amygdala : Synaptic Misfire (Denmark) 5. 08'15" Synsun : Replycant (Ukraine) 6. 07'45" Vax : Protoplasma (Ukraine) 7. 08'20" Agalactia : Awkward Lightrate (Israel) 8. 07'16" Torakka : Greasy Fingers (Finland) 9. 04'42" Solstice : Ricochet (England) It was then that a new Italian label called "Inpsyde Media" became interested in starting their releases with this compilation and Valerio, its owner, convinced Children to release a selection of 10 of these tracks under the name "Psychedelic Sparks" in late 2001. The inlay described the idea behind Psynews and the contest. The remaining tracks of the initial selection were offered for free. Artists such as Asura, Synsun/Vax and Promon were later to release full length albums, and many of these artists are still active. Direct download of the complete selection: Psynews Contest 1: Psychedelic Sparks 2CD version Between February and May 2002, a second contest was held. A CD called "Another Demention" was scheduled to be released, but Inpsyde Media finally cancelled it. The tracklist was : CD 1 1. 08'23" Kinich Ahau : The 3rd Spiral (Luxembourg/Israel/Mexico) 2. 08'11" Agalactia And 5Meo-Geo : Ficus (Israel) 3. 06'41" Sienis : Rubbabong (Sweden) 4. 09'50" Moai : Chimera (France/Sweden) 5. 10'17" Sneila : Flying Objects Always Reach The Ground (Romania) 6. 10'28" Artha : Mahabharta (Poland) 7. 10'15" Ethereal Phaze : Liquid Blue Vision (Sweden) 8. 14'40" Prosect : Invasion (Israel) CD 2 1. 10'59" Spiralgeist : Mean And Mean (Germany) 2. 06'58" Masada : Bhongo Bhonged (Sweden) 3. 08'14" Amygdala : Proprioception Malfunction (Denmark) 4. 06'41" Spiralix : Spirit Guide (???) 5. 08'22" Alien Noise : 604 Maniacs (Romania/Germany) 6. 09'07" Chiron : Ice Age (???) 7. 10'17" Ethereal : Fireflies (Sweden) 8. 08'47" Khetzal : Narayana (???) 9. 10'15" Vax : Tataria (Ukraine) Direct download of the selection: Psynews Contest 2: Another Demention 2CD
  15. 30 votes for, 0 against. So finally, here are the files, free to download !!! Psynews Contest 1: Psychedelic Sparks 2CD version I reworked the artwork on this one! Psynews Contest 2: Another Demention 2CD only with the preview artwork we got at the time. These are the MP3s as they were uploaded at the time. I don't have flac/wavs, but I'm planning on asking to each artist.
  16. Hello - The board was upgraded from version 3.0.5 to 3.1.1. - The system was tuned to make php faster - A new "cleancut" skin was added, and I'm warmly advising to thoose who are fed up wth dark grey
  17. Moving to other art/books
  18. I have doubts on the menu.
  19. Seems their file hosting is dead. But Google's your friend http://br.psyplanet.org/2008/09/va-buffoon.html
  20. Almost. I knew Anoebis thanks to goatrance.free.fr BUT I was just a reviewer and a technical guy there. The owner, Children, was more a geek than a public guy, so that's right Anoebis and I were more "visible". When the site moved to a server at my place, many believed I was behind what was called Psynews then, but it wasn't true. I was just helping a lot. In the summer of 2002, Anoebis and I threw our first olschool party togetheru nder the Psynews name, then we went to Samothraki where we heard some very good music (and met physically Filteria who wasn't making music then), and I rememeber we thought there could be a place for an oldschool label in the scene, but it was just a vaaaaague idea. I inherited from Psynews in september 2003, and we got the very first complete Filteria track more or less at that time. Eventually, we decided to create a label by December 2003 or January 2004.
  21. Right. Yes, but that wouldn't be followed up by me (or Anoebis). Not masochist and no time. I think we should recruit.
  22. EXACTLY what I described. So, what should we do? - No contest, removing the chances for some artists to get some recognition? - Organize a contest, but ban Suntrip artists from it? - Just don't give a damn about your biaised negativism? You don't have to be here you know Kristian. I respect you as an artist, but when it comes to initiatives and motivating people I cannot say you're the biggest support. Have you just read the title of this thread? Is it about Suntrip? No. It's about music, not interests or bullshit, just good music that was made 4 years even before Suntrip existed. My point, is that Psynews was created by oldschool fans, there's a big base of oldschool fans that came and stayed, and incidentally some of these oldschool fans created Suntrip, an oldschool label. Not the other way around. Right? And still it comes as a surprise that Suntrip cds are praised by Psynews visitors. Wow Sherlock, WOW. Throwing false assertions and catchy formulas like "suntripnews.org" is something easy for someone hidden behind his keyboard spending his days criticizing. But enough with that crap. When I think about how we kept things separated day after day, whereas we could have indeed used Psynews to spam, really, it hurts reading your fucking post. This is so biaised, so mean. An observation my ass. Now I am publicly challenging you to find an evidence that Suntrip used Psynews to promote its cds more than any other label. And you better find cause I could be tempted to kick your ass from this place. Enough is enough.
  23. He's working on that...
  24. I'll try but that won't be easy. Someone told me Epsilon doesn't have the track in wav anymore for instance. I'll ask him anyway. And I'm sure there are other cases like that.
  25. That's my idea from the beginning. Psynews and Suntrip are 2 different entities and it was repeated enough. But I still fear someone might argue that Suntrip is making Psynews visitors select compilations for free or some similar bullshit. Other possibility: being accused of influencing the votes in case a Suntrip artist gets amongst the winners of that contest. You know, contests are a hot topic. We've seen that recently. And since I still read some borderline stuff about Suntrip (artists) here and there, I wouldn't want anyone to ruin a nice initiative through a pointless argument:) See what I mean? So, if a Psynews contest had to be organized, it would be in a totally independant manner. But we're not there yet.
