  1. While fetching my good old backups I found the 2xCD version of the first Psynews contest winners. The 1st cd of which became Psychedelic Sparks if you remember. I also found the 2nd contest winning tracks. They were supposed to be released as "Another Demention" on the Out of Orion label, but never got released, unforunately. As a reminder, here are the tracklists: Psychedelic Sparks (Psynews Contest 1 winners) CD1 01 Neurotoxin - For Red 02 Psychopat - Spiral Landing 03 De-Fect - Bouncing Shrooms And Giggleing Gnomes 04 Andromeda - Amiga 05 Synsun - TNC 2001 06 Asura - System Babel (Code Eternity Rmx) 07 Artha - Controlled 08 Epsilon - Cosmic Vortex (Creepy Mix) CD2 01 Promon - Throbbing Hobbits 02 The Bastard - Crispy Crunchy Buffet Beast 03 De-Fect - Germs Germs Psychedelic Germs 04 Amygdala - Synaptic Misfire 05 Synsun - Replycant 06 Vax - Protoplasma 07 AgalactiA - Awkward Lightrate 08 Torakka - Greasy Fingers 09 Solstice - Ricochet Another Demention (Psynews Contest 2 winners) CD1 01 Kinich Ahau - The 3rd Spiral 02 Agalactia And 5Meo-Geo - Ficus 03 Sienis - Rubbabong 04 Moai - Chimera 05 Sneila - Flying Objects Always Reach the Ground 06 Artha - Mahabharta 07 Ethereal Phaze - Liquid Blue Vision 08 Prosect - Invasion CD2 01 Spiralgeist - Mean And Mean 02 Masada - Bhongo bhonged 03 Amygdala - Proprioception Malfunction 04 Spiralix - Spirit Guide 05 Alien Noise - 604 Maniacs 06 Chiron - Ice Age 07 Ethereal - Fireflies 08 Khetzal - Narayana 09 Vax - Tataria I realized that the tracks were nowhere to be downloaded, especially as, back in the days, we didn't have bandwidth and space to store them. Ok all of this is from 2001-2002, but would you like me to make them available nonetheless? Please use the poll above. If you're an artist listed above and disapprove of the whole thing here, please contact me asap.
  2. It's not about being fair, it's a mistake. The vote session starts when you schedule the system to do so. As I was unable to fill the database correctly back in March (it's thousands of entries), I put a remote date, thinking "ok by then I'll have had the time". That date was May 1st. And still I haven't found the time to fill correctly the database. May 1st arrived and the system autmatically opened the votes without me noticing. Only a few including you, did, I think. I just changed the date to the end of the year, I hope to find a way to fill the database within July and maybe we can start a real vote then. I'm really sorry this vote hasn't happened yet.
  3. I did a major database change tonight, you can expect a significant speedup. Tell me your thoughts.
  4. Dunno...must be a bug or something. I heard the board creators are working hard on a new version, maybe it will fix it ?!
  5. Shakta - Lepton Head (Deedrah remix) really rocks. If I had to bring one cd on a desert island, it wouldn't be on it, but I admit that melody is pure enlightenment!
  6. For those who have already visited the Suntrip HQ, you know I had a canvas with the Delta EP next to my desk. I made a nice purchase recently to replace it, and I couldn't resist to show you. You may find something for you there: http://www.margotschaefer.com
  7. We are delighted to annouce that our latest baby, "Temple of Chaos" is now available! Get it in our shop in CD format. The digital format will follow shortly Because it was meant to be a dual compilation, we also have a special bundle Energy Waves + Temple of Chaos for only 18 euros!! Enjoy the music and we wish you a delightful summer!!!
  8. Just one month ago, we reported that Leo from Red Gravity (remember, Momentary29, Speech Module) had decided to put all his tracks online on http://soundcloud.com/goamidi as he is now focussing on a more personal style. Well, on public demand most of these tracks are now free to download here. This is not a Suntrip Release, just a bunch of nice tracks and tries from a very estimated fellow. The mastering and the cover provided are also from Leo. Enjoy "Mdlnrg" in 320kbps MP3 or in lossless FLAC and don't hesitate to send your impressions to the artist through his soundcloud page.
  9. Don't worry, there's muuuuuuch more
  10. ...which sounds like a good way to close this topic.
  11. I don't have to give explanations for opinions I didn't emit. And the debate is shitfting. I'm not insinuating anything. I'm expressing my opinion and you may not share it.
  12. Posted 03 May 2010 - 12:02 AM -- 3 days after deadline. Stop this sour grapes mantra. Drama is uninteresting. I'm happy DH will finally have a deal. When is the new "release plan" going to be communicated? I'm not saying the contrary. But I also know law is subject to interpretations too, especially with art, and dogs don't bite hands which feed them. I'd advise artists to read that Wikipedia article to begin with even though it can't be considered as legal advice...but there's more on the Internet.
  13. As you can see, I updated my post before you submitted yours. You cannot say that because I publicly congratulated Disco Hooligans before this story all started. But I don't give a fuck to rules interpretation anymore. I don't wanna fight you Kristian, I know enough. I'm just saying it's FUCKING unfair to Disco Hooligans to scrap their prize just because of comments on a situation you initiated. You take a decision, accept the consequences. I think you're right but I will further investigate, so that no more time and energy is lost.
  14. Yes, me, ME and ME! Who's generalizing? Let's be honnest, right. I don't care about the style of the track, as long as it makes me dance. And I'm getting in this discussion just because of the change of rules, not the style of the taste. I'm a strong Goa fan and yet gave kudos to DH from the begining so I can talk. I have to tell any remix competition rules are juridically speaking a contract. A contract must always be agreed by all parties to be valid. If you change your rules, you must notify in advance, and make an addenum that contestants should formally agree. If not, then it's called a unilateral change of terms and that means the contestants can be freed from the contract. If you didn't mention a term after which new rules are automatically accepted, then it can be anytime before or after the results. What would you say if your house burnt, and your insurance company told you they'd removed fire damages from the risks list atfer you signed? In other words, right now, whatever you'd said Kristian, I don't think you could force anyone not to release or spread anything. But that's history now. I'm not skilled enough to answer wrt the ownership but I believe, indeed, that you keep it under certain conditions, and I will investigate and inform here how much artists are to edit their tracks before they aren't considered as Trance Africa Express remixes anymore. Now I'm very sorry to see how it's ending, and especially for Disco Hooligans that were penalized, more than any other contestant. Reading what's above, I assume no remix will be eventually released, and I hope the competition organizers do measure the extent of their blantantly unfair decision. I can't believe the cancellation comes from the discussion here that I thought was very open and not disrespectful to the organizers. I want to tell that no Psynews moderator got any report over that thread. So it's too bad this -once again- unilateral decision is ruining a lot of long and hard work...for everyone now. I would advise the competition organizers to refrain from starting another one, so noone will loose time and energy anymore for them. Last word: 2 months ago, I bet with 2 people (that I strongly discourage to intervene) that things would screw up at some point. I'm honnest till the end: this was predictable.
  15. Congrats to the winner! But I thought there would be 3 winners. The best 3 remixes will be released on all major shops in digital format (Beatport, iTunes etc) on the scheduled Sheyba “Trance Africa Express Remixed E.P” alongside a new 2010 Sheyba remix.
