  1. Artist: Phony Orphants Title: Phony Orphants Remixes Label: Iboga Digital Cat: IbogaDigital61 Format: Digital download (MP3/Wav) Release date: Out now! Buy here: https://www.beatport.com/en-US/html/content/release/detail/262810/Phony%20Orphants%20Remixes Release information: Iboga Records presents a 4-track digital download release with the Danish duo Phony Orphants, consisting of Mikael (also known as DJ Emok and Maelstrom) and Jeppe. 2. Looks like another typical American spoof movie (think Scary Movie, Not Another Teen Movie, Meet the Spartans etc). The standard for this kind of movie is usually VERY low, so you shouldn't have too high expectations. Just saying.
  3. Judging by the artists you like, I would go for some of the Nano Records and Neurobiotic Records stuff. Psychedelic full on sometimes edging towards progressive trance. Check out Allaby, Zen Mechanics, Silicon Sound, Commercial Hippies, Sonic Species, Master Blasters, AMD/Dickster, Burn In Noise, Fearsome Engine and earlier Protoculture.

  5. Definitely don't give up - we've all started somewhere, and I've certainly made tracks that weren't nearly as good as this The kick sounds muffled and doesn't really suit the bassline, and generally the whole track sounds a too busy and muddy. For starters I think you could try to cut some of the lower frequencies. There are some quite ok ideas in here though. I like that you try to make some variety in the bassline, and that you don't go full throttle all the way, but also have sections with less elements playing. I agree with supergroover: keep making new tracks, and you'll surely see your skills improving.
  6. New work in progress - 134 BPM and sort of morning-oriented progressive psytrance. As always I'm having a hard time figuring out how the bassline sounds, but I'm generally looking for feedback on the whole thing. Thanks in advance :-) http://soundcloud.com/pr0fane/multiphase-tabula-rasa-preview
  7. The font on the top is quite ugly. Also, it looks like the cover is inspired by this:

  9. Artist: Quantize Title: IL-SF Label: Iboga Digital Format: Digital download Release date: Out now! Buy here: https://www.beatport.com/en-US/html/content/release/detail/250557/IL-SF Release information: Remember "Easy" from Perfect Strangers latest album "Free Cloud"? Of course you do. With its relentless techno-drive, trance-like atmosphere and anthem-like melodies it became a real hit on the progressive scene worldwide and now the Israeli duo Quantize are ready with their interpretation. The Quantize-duo's version has been a much talked about highlight in their livesets for a long time, so we can safely say that this release has been long awaited. A big, powerful remix to dominate the dancefloors this summer! Also on the "IL-SF" EP is the track "23" - another phat, powerful techno/progressive psytrance crossover tune like Quantize are very well-known for. Tracklist: 01. Perfect Stranger - Easy (Quantize Remix) 02. Quantize - 23 Links: Buy here: https://www.beatport.com/en-US/html/content/release/detail/250557/IL-SF Quantize on Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/quantize1 Iboga Records website: http://www.iboga.dk Iboga Records on Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/ibogarecords Iboga Records fanpage on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/ibogarecords Iboga Records group on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=7523410676
  10. A bit funny, although some of the questions have been answered
  11. Two words: Weak ending. Overall a great series though with some amazing episodes over the years.
  12. "Aliens" is definitely in my top5 favorite movies. Everything is perfect: from the deep and intelligent yet fast-paced storyline, humor ("GAME OVER MAN, GAME OVER!"), the casting and the different characters to the excellent design of the creatures and the environment as well as the magnificent and terrifying sound-design. I can still get goosebumps when I hear the sound from the Marines' motion trackers getting louder and louder as the Aliens begin to move. The 80's was basically a great time for big, macho action-blockbusters with both interesting stories, plenty of action and none of those obnoxious, shallow and totally irrelevant love-stories (think "Transformers", "Armageddon" and probably every other action-movie made in the last 20 years). With Ridley Scott on board I have very high hopes for this.
  13. Artist: Motion Drive Title: Spring Thing Label: Iboga Digital Format: Digital download Release date: Out now! Buy here: https://www.beatport.com/en-US/html/content/release/detail/245280/Spring%20Thing Release information: Hot in the heels of his debut solo-album "In The Dirt" on Iono Music, Philip Guillaume aka Motion Drive presents a new EP on Iboga Records. Philip has long been an important ambassador for Switzerland on the global trance curcuit - first with the projects Blue Vortex and Rumble Pack and now with his highly succesful project Motion Drive. He has collaborated with the likes of Behind Blue Eyes, Zen Mechanics, Time In Motion and Dualism and influential artists like Perfect Stranger, Ace Ventura and Emok/Maelstrom has requested his skills as a talented remixer. On the new "Spring Thing" EP he is showcasing what he does best; positive grooves, trance-influenced melodies and rhythms bordering between progressive house and progressive trance. Joining him in the studio on one of the tracks is also the French act Aladiah, who is showing a different side than his usual psychedelic full on sound. With the summer well on the way on the northern hemisphere the timing couldn't have been better for this release – a gem for the afternoon hours. Tracklist: 01. Motion Drive - Spring Thing 02. Motion Drive feat. Aladiah - Hyperdrive Links: Buy here: https://www.beatport.com/en-US/html/content/release/detail/245280/Spring%20Thing Motion Drive on Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/motiondrive Iboga Records website: http://www.iboga.dk Iboga Records on Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/ibogarecords Iboga Records fanpage on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/ibogarecords Iboga Records group on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=7523410676
  14. Indeed a very entertaining movie, and the cokebadger is excellent! Great, underrated movie.
  15. Hmm, I don't know what to think about the Jacob-episode to be honest. Undoubtedly great to hear the background-story about Jacob, but was I the only one who though it was a bit too New Age and the acting was quite bad?

  20. Big room techno. Love it! Some of my favourites making this sound are Secret Cinema, Len Faki, Dubfire, Alan Fitzpatrick, Mark Broom, Fergie, Spektre. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-otMl6WzXU
  21. The downside to massive success is ridiculous expectations, and Astral Projection can almost only disappoint. While I do respect the revival of oldschool goatrance in the last couple of years, I think it’s unfair to downright demand an album that sounds exactly like it was produced in 1997. Taste develops over time, and I’m sure that’s also the case with Avi and Lior – now they’re caught between hardcore fans of their old sounds, a scene which has moved towards more bassline-oriented music, and finally also their own musical taste. Astral Projection were one of the biggest influences in getting me into psytrance, and although I haven’t liked their last couple of albums, I wish they go their own way and make a truly personal album instead of effortlessly rehashing old ideas to cater for fans of their old sound or make another album that will drown in the sea of Israeli full on. I haven’t liked Infected Mushrooms music for the past many years, but they do deserve some respect for going their own, unique route instead of listening to fans that expect another “The Gathering” (which, by the way is a magnificent album). Hopefully the legal disagreements won't stop Astral Projection from releasing music, as they're obviously talented musicians.
