  1. I enjoy my 60s King Crimson records to no end, but if I were to go see King Crimson in concert, I would not expect them to play the same style as the In the Court of the Crimson King. Or at least, if they did, it would be played on instruments with emotional input instead of having a non-improvisational computer live. I can go to a Tchaikovsky concert and have everything arranged exactly as it has been for decades, but there would always be what the musicians in the orchestra put in, because they are putting in something personal. In electronica, I need an element of originality and improvisation in the music for it to remain interesting, or to hear music I have not heard before for it to remain interesting.
  2. ok, then, that's what i thought everyone agrees then nothing wrong with someone having a burst of creative energy at a certain period of time and capitalizing on it nothing is lasting anyways but if i were him and i respected myself i would pass onto other day jobs
  3. oh and to be clear, i am very open minded to music if i dont like the style something is written in, i am still able to see artistic merit and this my fellow psynewsers has nothing to with opinion there was absolutely no artistic merit in that "performance" whatsoever
  4. so i just came back from a hallucinogen live and shpongle dj set here is what i think i will not say that hallucinogen is not a good musician, because to be a bad one, you'd have to be a musician first he was one once, but let it go, amigo shpongle dj set was boring as fuck great party, good drugs, good ppl, worst musical experience of the last years
  5. i will have to come in and say that the beginning and end of avant.garde was, while a bit fast for me, very much appreciated. havent yet heard 80 minutes hope to change that soon
  6. OK, I know I said I'd do a new one. But I am super tired now and there is only saturday and sunday left until the deadline, and I won't be in (party time). So here is a link to my latest review: http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=37108 and I promise (cross my heart) to give the Loopus In Fabula review by the end of next week.

  10. i dont know who you talk to, but everyone in my circle will not stop talking about it for years already and all their families too well, you've said all i wanted to say
  11. oh, boohoo where is the scene heading? a bit condescending today, are we? yep
  12. if the cairo you played live in montreal was a version of the cairo on this albu, i must agree that it works wonders on the dancefloor was definitely the highlight of that set for me
  13. while my opinion coincides with yours for the most part, i understand enough not to go around saying that my opinion IS the way maybe for some, electric universe only made nice tracks, but not something they will remember in 20 years, whereas penta was for them one of the milestones of a turn in psytrance
  14. anyone here making dubby chill tracks? i am interested in hearing what people here are cooking thanks
  15. i felt some of what you feel at times but consistently, the feeling that it is still amazing keeps coming back maybe it is here, where the scene is very small but the vibe is sometimes stronger than it even was in the past i find the music more interesting than 6-7 years ago. yes, there is more shit, but there is also more good stuff (by the music, i dont mean necessarily "psytrance" but all kinds of psychedelic electronic dance music) let "the scene" go andy, there is no such thing there are only combinations of similar perceptions that you group into a "scene" choose good perceptions to group into your scene
  16. i'll try to get as much of the full range as possible in 5 albums hallucinogen - lone deranger midi miliz - antistat pleiadians - ifo antix - lull etnoscope - drums from the dawn of time if you didnt specify that about guitars, delta's scizzoeffective, im's classical mushroom, penta's pentafiles, and haltya's electric help elves might have found themselves in there enjoy
  17. i want in i will do another review for this, there is still time maybe elemental journey, that album knocks me off my feet every time good initiative
  18. well, you're in luck he has 2 more albums he's released in the past year on virtual, and that album he made with matt coldrick, elemental journey i've yet to receive the last infinite garden one, but magic square and elemental journey are sublime for me, elemental journey is the best music i have heard, period.
  19. good project all the best with this you have all my support even though i might not want to listen to the music itself
