  2. The Mirandat track sounds anything like the Doof track and it i probavbly not a remix of Doofs Mars needs women.
  3. Astral Projection - In The Mix (currently Mahadeva) thanks for the recommendation @Radish6404😂
  4. Wasn't Mars needs women by Doof and Miranda remixed it? Love the Doof version, but honestly cannot remember the Miranda remix. Doof, Manwithnoname & Electric Universe were definitely talked about a lot in the early days, like in the 90s, but apart from Doof, I don't think they all aged that well. Electric Universe have a lot more albums than I remember so I guess a lot of them were pretty forgettable. We all have different opinions, what you call "the best" are actually just your favourites, they're not going to be everyone's favourites and people are going to talk about what they like more. It's definitely a good way to expand your musical horizons. I love these sort of posts as now I want to check out these artists again and see for myself. I listened to Doof over the weekend, but the other two....it's been years.
  5. MFG and Electric Universe didn't produce "very good and a lot of tracks in late goa trance time" because you think Astral Projection are overrated? Makes sense.
  6. Miranda tracks are featured on at least 75 compilations according to Discogs: https://www.discogs.com/artist/19682-Miranda?noanv=1&superFilter=Appearances&subFilter=Compilations For reference, Transwave are featured on 77 compilations, and your beloved Astral Projection: 177.

  8. I usually listen to whole albums and sometimes compilations. Almost never playlists of individual tracks though occasionally I will use playlists of multiple albums while working. On the best albums of some of my most favorite artists there are rarely any truly poor tracks. I am thinking of things like Dimension 5 - Transdimensional, both Hallucinogen albums, anything by Elysium, all of RA's stuff. Basically what abasio said that a good album has a cohesive and interesting journey. I will have to give MFG - The Prophecy some more listens to comment on that. With MFG I started out listening to Pure Energy a lot and never got bored with the tracks on that, but not listened to their earlier stuff quite as many times yet. I do listen to a lot of Goa trance albums by other artists to try and find more stuff I like and sometimes to write reviews. And in other cases, sure, it can get boring or samey after a lot of listening. I usually listen while I am busy going about my day, so if it was a playlist of loads of different artists, I often wouldn't know who I was hearing unless I sit down at the computer and check for the best stuff.
  9. Members 48 Author Posted just now Yes, this is also one of the best goa trance tracks. Absolutely awesome. I listen it on Mediamonkey
  10. I think the album Northern Lights is great and awesome just because of 4 tracks, two of which are the best goatrancetracks of all time. Also what is in my opinion is, that Miranda has not managed to get on a lot of compilations. I only know of Concorde that has made it to a goa Head compilation. I also think the forum is ead. I think someone should care getting new people on this forum. The old goa trance like Miranda, Man with no name, Electric Universe, MFG and even Astral Projection is still worth discussing.
  11. Why are the est goa trance tracks like Man with no name Naked People, Electric Universe - Siruis Shuttle or Miranda - Mars needs women underrated here. Noone back in the days when I was registered earlier here takled about these tracks.
  12. I owned many years ago a Sennheiser HD 500 headphone and was very dissapointed with the details. I sold it on the same day I got it. Even my Sennheiser MX 580 erarphones had more details. For outside I use my Sony Xperia 10 v Smartphone with Sony MDR E8418 earphones I got on ebay. The sound is very good and not much away from the sound of my Canto GLe 90 with my Creative Audigy FX.
  13. I no longer have a stereo as I listen to everything on headphones. I have a Sony ZX707 player, with the balanced output it is big enough to get the best out of decent headphones without the need for an amp. On the go I usually use the Final Audio A6000 items and at home I recently got a pair of Sennheiser HD 560s open back headphones. I had never owned a pair of open backs before but I really like them for the spaciousness they have on the soundstage.
  14. I think Astral Projection was way too overrated and that is way artists like MFg and Elecric Universe did not produce very good and a lot of tracks in late goa trance time. Electric Universe produced full on and MFG produced the Message from God album, which had only a fwe good tracks.
  15. While there are many tracks that I prefer, when Mahadeva comes on, it's instantly recognisable and was played everywhere back in the day, so yes, I think it is definitely an Anthem
  16. Nice opinion. In my opinion, the labels like spirit Zone and the label of Goa Head had problems putting tracks on them with the same level. Some tracks are just boring to me. Also there are extremly good Pleiadians tracks, but on Seven sisters I only like Starbase 11, which is one of the best Goa Trance tracks in goa trance history.
  17. I only every listen to albums or compilations. I do not like playlists, for basically the same reason you state for not listening to albums 😂 I find there is too much filler, while with a proper album, I find the whole journey more cohesive, and while some tracks might not be as good as the others, I feel they still add to the journey. I don't want 80 minutes where everything is the same level, I want some peaks, and some plateaus. I will listen to properly made mixes when the DJ can fully understand the need for movement in the mix and not just keeping everything at the same level. There are some excellent concept albums and compilations: Pleiadians first 2 are amazing journeys and the Crystal Skulls compilations too understand this need for a cohesive journey. At least that is what I like.
  18. Anthem status is completely deserved. Love it and will always love it. @Gluon it's pretty fast compared to a lot of goa but rather average compared to a lot of hardtrance/ rave tracks that dominated the 1993-1994 scene. So not sure if it really stood out that much from that POV.
  19. Old school Miranda and Athena was great. You might find her track Mars Needs Women to be great, but it's not talked about at this forum because it's not a goa or psytrance track, it's a commercial trance track. Online Information by Electric Universe is a great and very well known track, many like it, and it's featured on many compilations. Miranda and Athena is very much appreciated at this forum: https://www.psynews.org/forums/topic/35418-miranda-phenomena/, but this forum is pretty much dead, and she hasn't released a great album since Phenomena back in 1996.
  20. Back in the day it was the anthem. You can argue about there being better tracks, but you can't argue with it's status as one of the most well known goa anthems.
  21. acid-brain, great atmosphere.
  22. When to sleep... as always at Apsara
  23. I can instantly think of a bunch of astral tracks i like waaay more, although you cant argue the melody is simple but very effective 1994 is pretty early too, i can see how it stood out back then Also its pretty fast compared to most early goa trance, compared to a lot that came after as well The tempo alone made it stand out probably, and still when you see em play live now and they play it at original tempo, it gives a boost to the dancefloor (although the fact that its already an established classic has a lot to do with it too, but i imagine it was the same when the track was new) It just injects the dancefloor with energy and sends people flying every time, which is enough for a track to become legendary, and it doesn't have to be the most mindblowing sonic experience to rock a lot of booties
  24. Yesterday
  25. I agree with you Radi. Maybe heresy to say around here but I think Mahadeva is one of the most overrated tracks in goa.
