Why does noone talk about Miranda Silvergreen?
Trolsk replied to Radish6404's topic in General Psytrance
Old school Miranda and Athena was great. You might find her track Mars Needs Women to be great, but it's not talked about at this forum because it's not a goa or psytrance track, it's a commercial trance track. Online Information by Electric Universe is a great and very well known track, many like it, and it's featured on many compilations. Miranda and Athena is very much appreciated at this forum: https://www.psynews.org/forums/topic/35418-miranda-phenomena/, but this forum is pretty much dead, and she hasn't released a great album since Phenomena back in 1996. -
Back in the day it was the anthem. You can argue about there being better tracks, but you can't argue with it's status as one of the most well known goa anthems.

I can instantly think of a bunch of astral tracks i like waaay more, although you cant argue the melody is simple but very effective 1994 is pretty early too, i can see how it stood out back then Also its pretty fast compared to most early goa trance, compared to a lot that came after as well The tempo alone made it stand out probably, and still when you see em play live now and they play it at original tempo, it gives a boost to the dancefloor (although the fact that its already an established classic has a lot to do with it too, but i imagine it was the same when the track was new) It just injects the dancefloor with energy and sends people flying every time, which is enough for a track to become legendary, and it doesn't have to be the most mindblowing sonic experience to rock a lot of booties

acid-brain started following Why does noone talk about Miranda Silvergreen? and is Mahadeva really an anthem?
-
I agree with you Radi. Maybe heresy to say around here but I think Mahadeva is one of the most overrated tracks in goa.

Yes Miranda is one of the top goa trance producers. Very powerful atmospheres and kick drums. Great collaborations too with other producers like Ominus. I don't feel like she is overlooked. I'm a sucker for the real old-school sound and the track Athena is my favourite: -
I have spent a big part of my day talking on Facebook about how there's nobody talking on Facebook anymore, what a coinkydink. This forum was still somewhat alive when i got into goa trance a little over 10y ago, but the online goa/psytrance community mostly made the switch to facebook groups already. They were great for a while, but by now Facebook has turned into this utterly brain draining garbage platform, so groups are dying there too, and the place where people flocked to next is Instagram, where people don't talk. Goa/psy subreddits are 90% promo and don't seem like a very inviting alternative... God the internet feels lonely nowadays, even though more people use it than ever before. Maybe I'll hang out here some more, idk...

OK, I will then. It means something that you took the time to say so. Thanks.

Hey abasio, can you please post in my thread, what stereo do you have? The forum is very inactive, so I would like to have one post.

Very beautiful track with the beautiful melody, beautiful singing and very good mixing and mastering for 1994. I must laugh about Astral Projection and Hallucinogen´s quality in 1994 and 1995. -
What do you think of Mahadeva, released on Trust in Trance 1994? Is it really an anthem compared to other goa trance tracks like Desert Sun, Experience from MFG, or Galaxia or Sunset Skyline by Boris Blenn? Is it as good as the melody of Washing in the rain by Culture Beat? I think Mahadeva is very well mastered and probably the one well mastered and mixed track of Trust in Trance 2. The track however is repetative and the melody does play around and around for more than 9 minutes. Mars needs woman by Miranda has a much more complex melody and the track is more interesting to listen to. DEsert Sun by MFg is way more interesting, also with very emotional and beautiful melodies. I am interested n your opinions.

I think that whole albums are boring to listen because the artists use the time of 80 minutes for track fillers. There are no albums with all tracksthat are great , even from the best goa trance artists like MElectric Universe, Miranda and MFG. Astral Projection filled Astral files only wit hone les goood track Enlightened Evolution Remix, however the trust in Trance 3 album contains Englightened Evolution and Black and White, which are definatly track fillers for me. Also Trust in Trance 2 has a lot of track fillers, not to forget that the quality of the tracks of Trust in Trance 2 is poor. If I compare to Culture Beat from Germany, the tracks sound way more melodic and complex and of much better mixing quality than Trust in Trance 2, released in 1994, the same year when the masterpeaces of Culture Beat Call me Mr. Whine and Washing in the rain. The simple tracks In novation, Voodoo experience, beautiful but still simple and many others on that album where just simple. Goa Trance (especially Astral Projection) should have beenmuch more complex and melodic in 1994 and of much better mixing quality, just like Culture Beat and other Eurodance artists. Miranda is also not very good to list en for whole albums, I think the best album of Miranda with the tracks Mars needs wome and U are alone has only2 other good tracks. Also the albums Electric Universe ONe Love and Electric Universe "Stardiver" do have rack fillers, I do not want to mention in this post. The best Astral Projection track is "visions of Nasca" remix, but it is the onlygood track on the album, Raja Rams Pipeworm. All other tracks are boring on this album. The way I listen to music is creating playlists on Mediamonkey and listen only to good tracks. What is your way of listein g to music or do you like to listen to MFG The Propehcy with the boring tracks, to Eternity and Illumination? MFg in my opinion is better than Astral Projection, but there are a few good tracks on each album, only.

I understand nothing about this post. The miranda track mars needs women is this one here: It has nothing todo with the boring Doof track maras needs women: it is hte best goa trance track of all goa trance tracks because of the very emotiional and fresh melody and it´s complex FX sounds and you as a goa trance fan should know it very well. The doof track is no comparison and it is not similar at all to the Miranda "Mars needs women" track. -
the absolute BEST moment in goa/psy history

Still this for me, iconic in my own journey -

Honestly, if you mention "Mars needs women" I will always think about Doof. I know that Miranda released a track with the same name 3 years later, but is really as iconic as the Doof track? I can't even picture the Miranda track in my mind. -
I wonder if this poster is really Radoslav, Radi6404 with a new account or someone trying to troll something from a decade ago. I can't really believe that it's the real Radi because how would our Radoslav ever say anything negative about Astral Projection. If I recall correctly, Astral PRojection were always the badgers badgers and Radi made post after post praising them and slagging off lesser modern goa. I think there is no way that he's be back slagging them off over Miranda: No Way!!!

I used to write reviews, I wish I still could, even if you think everything is coming from you, still do it, I love to read the reviews. In a time where there is so much music, it's always good to hear other people's opinions on it.
