Miranda - Tellus Twin / Space Boy

Artist: Miranda

Title: Tellus Twin / Space Boy

Label: MASH

Date: 1998

Track listing:

01. Tellus Twin

02. Space Boy

Review:

These two tracks from Miranda was created with collaboration from her manager

DJ Lazar. "Tellus Twin" is a bit minimal IMO, a stompy groove accompanied by

various FX sounds rebounding throughout, and an emerging melody sequence in

the very end. Though it's quite long, maybe about 9-10 minutes which makes it

a little hard to sustain interest for long IMO. A decent track with good stomp

qualities, 7/10... "Space Baby" on the other hand is quite good and the track

has been featured on various compilations. Don't be fooled by the slow intro

in the beginning of the track, it's not an ambient track, it's actually rather

psychedelic. It's not as stompy as "Tellus Twin", instead it's got a more

clear and determined feel with twisted sounds throughout. A good track indeed,

8/10... EP Total: 7.5/10

Hah! 10+ years since I posted that review. So, I might wonder if it has aged well and actually I did record the vinyl (going through the whole collection ridding myself of crap records and restoring some old withered but good memories) about a month ago.

It is still very good. Pretty much all of her productions from '95-'99 are good. Unfortunatly the a-side suffers from some bad mastering or pressing error. Tellus Twin starts of nice and crisp but somewhere halfway through someone rubbed the wrong knob or something, it all goes slightly muffled. It's still bearable so don't shy away from the vinyl if you find it somewhere.

"Each of us has a twin in another world!"

Since Mergi and I are the only ones participating in the topic I now will add that I believe this is the only place to find this particular Miranda track Tellus Twin.

Personally I feel it goes on too long and could've been tightened up.

Also I would like to request Suntrip's digital label to maybe discuss releasing here albums with a remaster. They're of course quite good and just need some TLC. And I'm aware of the limited Spiral Trax version found here.

If you are going to post a link to Miranda's work, you surely need to tag @Radish6404who may or not be @radi6404but has a clear preference for Miranda

Never seen either version of Radi in the reviews, so I am curious how he feels and articulates about other music from his favourite artist.
