Review:

Again a VERY nice Banco De Gaia album full of mellow beats

and tribal/oriental influences!! It just flows nicely from

start to finish and put's you into a trip!! The first 2

tracks and Kincajou have a higher BPM and could be

considered as morning trance, but the rest of the album is

some very good chill-out. Some tracks have an ambient D&B

influence (sorta like Blunt Instruments from Deviant

Electronics or Acid Rockers), but with a lot more tribal

sounds. All the tracks are nice, but Kuos (Gnomes Mix) is

EXCELLENT!!! It's full of tribal beats and it just

hypnotises you!! This is top-notch material!! Another one

I like very much is White Paint. 9/10

Perfect ambient album by Banco De Gaia...It is very relaxing, chilling, mellow

and trancey at the times...First disc is more an ambiental and ethnic journey

where the second one presents some kind of paradise especially KINCAJOU...I

like both discs the same and my favourite ones are : LAST TRAIN TO LHASA,

AMBER, KINCAJOU, KUOS ( Gnome Mix ) and KINCAJOU ( Duck ! Asteroid....!!!!!!

).....10/10

Another brilliant Banco de Gaia album, though perhaps not quite as good as

"Maya". The only problem with this album is that sometimes the mastering or

recording is not what it could be, and some of the treble sounds are a bit

sibilant. Also the vinyl pressing is not the best. Nevertheless, this album

has a very special place in music because it was one of the first to champion

the cause of Tibet, and this is a cause which deserves nuff respect and all

our support. This is themed in the music itself, with chuffing train sounds to

take you to Tibet and Buddhist chanting to make sure you know you are there.

Indeed, the album almost reeks of Tibetan incense and yak dung (there are

tinkly cow-bells throughout). It has a lovely peaceful meandering quality that

pervades all the tracks, and many of the themes are repeated in different

tracks, almost like motifs that recur in classical music to tie the whole

thing together. This is so well done that individual tracks do not stand out,

and the album really works as a whole, putting the listener into a relaxed

meditative state of mind. There are many subtle sounds, and it is difficult to

get bored of it because those sounds are hard to get a hold of. There is also

a very nice "Kincajou" ep, with the "Return of the Norse Gods" mix of the

track being outstanding in an epic kind of way. Impossible to recommend highly

enough and easily stands the test of time. 10/10

this album is one of my fav's on my shelf.

and i got another question, or maybe a few according to the artwork.

as i have watched my copy i have noticed that there are a lot of details hidden in the cover picture which can be interpreted in a lot of ways.

for eg. the sky is kinda created from the smoke of the train and it's symmetrical ! there is a face hidden in the center of the sky and you read the word "T R U S T" above it.

just take a look by yourself. there are a lot of weird things that have no menaning to me, or i couldnt find any yet. does anyone know anything about this cover. is it made with purpose ? i think so :) maybe you folks know something more about this interessting cover :)

greets, love & light
