Review:

Quite Good Compilation ! Best Tracks are CD1 Tracks 1 and 5, but there is other

quite good Tracks on CD2 (Tracks 3,6,11) ... the problem is that this CD is a

MIX CD, in which Tracks have even been CUT :-((( Bad Tracks are CD1 Track 9

and CD2 Tracks 2,4,5,7,8,9,12,13 ... Rating : 4.5/10

A pretty good old Goa compilation. I also think that CD1 is better, with all

the songs being good except t10. Hard to say which would be the best tracks,

as most of them change for me constantly, but ones that stay are tracks 1, 2

and 9.

CD2 is more varied in quality with half of the stuff making no impression on

me. The ones that always wake me up to listen what's going on are tracks 3, 6,

10, 11 and 13. The rest are from average to quite boring.

Overall rating for this compilation 6/10, mainly because of the good CD1.

Again, another Distance compilation which represents excellent value for money.

Some oldie names on here like Man With No Name, Transwave, The Infinity

Project. CD2 is mixed by DJ Xavier from Amsterdam and contains some more nice

tracks. Not the best ?Distance? compilation but worth a listen to.

This compilation is according to me one of the worst goa compilations i own.

Almost the integrity of the music on both cds dont mean anything to me, i do

not understand and find the essence of a good harmonic goa sound in none of

these tracks except for track # 1 on CD 1 .

Just a full load of electronic crap.

I do not advise this compilation for people who are looking for constructive

music.

Rating CD 1 : 1/10

Rating CD 2 : 0,5 /10

Some classics on CD1, the first half of it is great but the last songs are all

a little lame and unoriginal. The second CD has a lot of well-known names and

the best songs come again before the middle because the last songs are the

ones everyone has heard a million times before and some of them are simply too

unoriginal. It doesn't really bother me that it's mixed because some of the

songs are so boring that you don't want to hear them longer ;). So this is an

average compilation that you should get if it doesn't cost much. -Clark

I kinda like this compilation...I mean it's not super quality compared to the

ones released from other labels, but they do a good job of giving you a taste

of old-school trance. There are few really good tracks on the first disc.

The Zodiac Youth track in my opinion, is the best track on the first

disc...and it's really good! The second CD is enjoyable even though it's

mixed. Most of the tracks are classic tracks you've probably heard a bunch of

times, so it's interesting to hear them mixed (ie: Hallucinogen and Koxbox).

I just love how it ends with Juno Reactor's "Rotorblade"! I wouldn't say this

is an essential buy, but I haven't really been disappointed because of the

price they charge (2cds for price of one). 6.5/10 overall, but the Zodiac

Youth track and some parts of the second CD is 8/10.

I can remember when this album was realeased like it was yesterday!

My first impression. "Man With No Name - Lunar cycle" really rocked my world

(and it still does)!

They sure don't make "Goa" like this anymore!

And I still think this is a damn good album!

Rating! 9/10

Cd 1 isn't very special to me; the only track I really like is 4.POWER

SOURCE/GRANADA It reminds me of Chi AD's Astral Warrior... soft melodies

combined with DANCE!

But I think it's a matter of taste...

Cd 2 I haven't heard,YET

Wow... 1/10? Maybe for the second cd if your really really cynical.

9.2/10 for the first cd... and 8.3/10 for the second.

Feel the universe isn't the best song... but apart from that all the tracks on cd 1 are either excellent or very good. I mean just look at stuff like Granada (very powerful) and Hyperspaced (weird... innovative and trippey) to see why this is such a great compilation. The track standard on the first 5 distance to goa's (not including mix cds) is a lot higher than on Goa head.

Then ofcourse that said... this mix has excellent flow. So... sure if you listen to tracks singley then its crap... but thats not the idea.

Comparing the second CD to the first is akin to comparing John F. Kennedy to the bloated orange buffoon currently infecting my country's seat of power.  I'm not one for mixed Cds in the first place, but the track quality isn't as good anyway.  It's not even close.  I mean two Cwithe tracks?  Did I spit in your soup?  Why would you do that to someone?

Point of No Return and Snarling are always good, but I'm not sitting through a mix Cd of mediocre tunes just to get to those.
