  1. Artist: Skizologic & Tsuyoshi Suzuki Title: Cosmic Creativity EP Label: HOMmega Productions Date: October, 2016 1. Cosmic Creativity 2. Tekno Tribe "I was invited to a party where I was given LSD...for the first time." Zion 604 has been a label steeped in quality with releases like Robotized, 12 Dimensions from Radical Distortion, Green Room by Deviant Electronics and the super compilation Flight 604 II. I hadn't really paid much attention to the digital side of the label, but for 3 bucks I decided to give it a whirl. Surprisingly this was released by HOMmega. Not a bad thing, just a bit of a shock. I'm more used to them releasing eye rolling full-on than goa. Only two tracks here, and for me the first one is the clear winner. It's pumping and bubbly and takes its time to evolve with nice lows and some piercing highs. All the while maintaining its swagger. Tekno Tribe was ok, but didn't have the gravitas I was looking for. 2. Artist: Vertical Mode Title: Lazer Shot EP Label: HOMmega Productions Date: 29-02-2012 Style: Progressive Psytrance Tracklist: 1. Lazer Shot 2. Lucky Number 3. Mr. Fix Vertical Mode is an experienced duo from Israel. Both producers are known for there solo projects, Xerox and Volcano. Now they are creating something totally different, it lies somewhere in between progressive and full-on. When listening to a bunch of psytrance, every now and then it happens that you stumble upon albums that sound extremely unique and you wonder why you didn't discover it before. This is one of them albums and I have to say this goes for more of Vertical Mode's releases. Lazer Shot is a great track, this is almost as powerful as it gets for progressive. Still it's very psychedelic and it doesn't lack of groove at all. Everything is perfectly balanced and at the end of the song everything comes together. They did a wonderful job! Next is Lucky Number: "Ladies and gentleman, we interrupt this program to bring you important news!". Well you can definitely say that again, this track is what it's all about. And I'm glad I interrupted whatever I was doing to listen to this bouncer. It's my favorite track of this EP. I must admit it was very hard to pick a favorite since the first track was amazing as well, but this offers just a slightly bit more. So yeah, the lucky number was 2 in this case. Last on the list is Mr. Fix. which is not bad at all. It takes about 5 minutes before this one explodes. But when it does you realize that in some cases you just need a good few minutes before you can go all the way. It's an ok track but I have the feeling the other ones had just a bit more of a bouncing groove to it. That's ok though, you don't hear me complaining about this release. I had a great time listening to this EP, it's definitely something new and refreshing. Now this is what you call groundbreaking in it's genre. 3. Artist: Astrix Title: Stars on 35 EP Label: HOMmega Productions Date: August, 2012 1. Gayatri - Astrix & Deedrah 2. Flashback - Easy Riders (Ace Ventura & Rocky) and Symbolic Astrix ((Avi Shmailov) has had quite the career in psychedelic trance and has been holding it down since his debut Eye To Eye in 2002. Sure he might've strayed into commercial waters from time to time, but what cannot be argued is the sound quality of his compositions. Big bass and kick coupled with soaring melodies. This is a short 2 track EP which continues that trend. Gayatri sees him team up with fellow veteran Deedrah for a nice track with good effects. Soft arpeggios materialize out of the ether and it's almost progressive in nature. Flashback- "Every LSD experience is unique." Stop me if you've never heard a full on track with drug references. It's not bad, but it's just another droplet in a tsunami of like minded tracks that we've heard a million times before. It's a little harder than the first one, but nowhere near as appealing. While nowhere near the best work he has done, the first track was worth the listen. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed. Beatport Mdk
