  1. Like some of you know I'm a Tribal-trance lover, but this wasn't good enough imo... It is too minimal and not tribal enough! For example 8&9 are not tribal at all!! Best songs are nr2 because of the tribal, véry groovy rhytm and number 6 because of the use of the didg... i think this is the only REALLY tribal song on this compilation... Also I wanted to say something about the Yahel-track, it is véry poor... Sounds completely like Euro-trance!! All together this gets a 4/10, rather spend your money at Bodh Gaya or Makyo if you like tribal trance!! Bom Shankar
  2. I wrote a review here long time ago but it dissapeared!? Anyway, let's say it again, this is the definition of trance... This is in my Top-5 albums ever!! Great!! 9,5/10 Bom Shankar
  3. V/A - Schlabbaduerst ReKkords 3 Artist: Various Title: Schlabbaduerst ReKkords 3 Label: Schlabbaduerst Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. 08'46" Lardfish : Kedves Utasunk 02. 09'37" Marchaos : Corollary Of Flesh 03. 08'08" Battle Of The Future Buddhas : Orebro Freak Factory 04. 10'29" Marchaos : Priestlicker 05. 09'01" Doda Hundens Kyrka : Spannbalteboogie 06. 08'02" Church Of The New Age Hippie Disco Shit : Starved 07. 08'36" Dead Dog Barking : Hybris 1939-1945 08. 07'53" Angriff : E-Spad 09. 07'13" Dead Dog Barking : Insolent Tics Inducer Review: Here we have the 3d release of the label of the Battle Buddhas, and once again it's a release that is not for everyone... It sounds really industrial, even more then Schlabbaduerst 001 and it is véry psychedelic!! (As it should be)!! Let's start the review: Song 1 & 2 are completely in the same style. It are dark night-songs with haunting mettalic sounds and they are pretty fast. (143-145 BPM) Both songs were made by or with Marchaos, and I must say that this guy is a new talent of the Swedish forest-sound... The 3d song is by the Battle Buddhas and is one of the best songs on the cd, it sounds like Tim Schuldt mixed with the Battle buddha-style!! Really nice!! Number 4 is once again by Marchaos and it sounds even more industrial and evil then number 1 & 2... probably because of the use of horror-samples of laughing people... I don't like the 5th song (altough i liked their song on Schlab 001). It starts ok, but it becomes one big chaos of sounds at the end... The Church of the New Age Hippie Disco Shit-track is more hypnotic and "warmer" as the other tracks altough there are still many typical forest-sounds in it! The 7th song continues the madness of number 1-4 in the typical groovy, driving and stomping night-style... The 8th song is a total different story... It's a blissfull morning track with many warm sounds and strange melodies... This must be my favourite track on the CD (with nr1,2&3)! For the ones who have Schlab 002, the track is the same style! The last track is much slower and reminds me véry much of Demonoizer, so not very original. But all together it's once again a quality release with as favourites: 1,2,3,4,7&8!! And it gets an 8,5/10 for that! Bom Shankar
  4. Feuerhake - Feuerhake Artist: Feuerhake Title: Feuerhake Label: Free Form Date: 2000 Track listing: 01. 06'45" Only One Way 02. 07'58" Sign Of Life 03. 06'30" Noe 04. 10'28" Proteus 05. 06'09" Tief Ins Mer 06. 09'18" 3 Tage 4 Nachte 07. 06'16" Extremely Well (Mixed) 08. 06'32" Clouds Review: I enjoyed Klangstrahler's Projekt CD véry much, so I though I had to check out this CD too because it is the same artist! (Gero Bode) And I'm not dissapointed at all!! The CD starts with a nice, chilly, freestyle ambient song full with weird melodies from strange snare-instruments, but the result is véry good...! The second song is very rythmic & groovy, but also very trancy with once again strange Arabic flutes...!! The 3d song is a good morning-trance song, very hovering and warm with some (well used) guitars, but somehow it does not appeal me... BUT... The next song is kind of a... KILLER!! )) One of the most flowding songs I've ever heard... A very hypnotising beat and in the middle a FANTASTIC melody comes in... The last time I heard that kinda melody was when I heard The Muses Rapt - Return of the Travellers!! This feuerhake song is simply the definition of real TRANCE!! 10/10. The 5th song is completely different style, it sounds almost funky with some breakbe! ats and guitars... 3 tage 4 Nachte is the song I like the least on the CD, too boring! Extremely well was originally made under his Klangstrahler-Projekt name, but is now mixed by Feuerhake and result is great... Once again he uses the guitar very nice in the song...!! To end the CD he made a very peaceful Ambient song, so véry good debute album of Feuerhake!! I must say the CD is also a REAL album... véry nice for home-listening and also véry magical! I give this one a 9/10!! Bom Shankar

    V/A - Ptzatzot 3

V/A - Ptzatzot 3 Artist: Various Title: Ptzatzot 3 Label: Kajoonk Date: 1999 Track listing: 01. 08'39" Iceman : Implant 02. 07'53" Syndrome : Pet Cemetery 03. 10'26" Astrix : In Peace 04. 07'29" Destination : Cycle Melody 05. 07'05" Syndrome : Alte Zachen 06. 09'35" Iceman : K.k.6000 07. 07'59" D-Jagger : Foundation 08. 07'58" Astrix : Eakis World 09. 09'39" Gentech : System Overdrive Review: The 3d (and last) of the Ptzatzot series... The first was Outstanding, the second was still good, but already too cheesy, In this one there's simply too much cheese in most of the songs... The music that was called "Ptzatzot" in 1998 was véry close to Goa-Trance and very psycehdelic... This last ptzatzot is close to Nitzhonot (or it simply is)! Ptzatzot means "bomb" in hebrew, and when you listen to it you'll understand why, full on smashing bassdrums, very fast and many, happy melodies... I must say I like those smashing bassdrums, but the melodies are mostly terrible... Really "wave your hands in the air"-melodies!! There are a few songs who are mediocre (3,5,8) but that's not enough to save this CD from low points... 4/10. ps: I was wondering something, is this Astrix the same as the one who helped Alien Project??? Bom Shankar

    Makyo - Yakshini

héhé, I already changed my mind... When i was listening to this during the heatwave, sitting in the sun & playing chess I realised this is one hell of an album that is AS good as Toires & Asura (which are my favourite Ambient albums)!! So 9,5/10 & NOT 7,5/10!! Bom Shankar

    Makyo - Yakshini

Makyo - Yakshini Artist: Makyo Title: Yakshini Label: Dakini Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. 09'28" Tantrika 02. 07'19" Natascha 03. 07'19" Desire 04. 10'42" Takshaka 05. 14'08" Soar Angelic 06. 20'46" Yakshini 07. 07'23" Ghost Echoes Review: It's the first time I bought a release from Dakini Records and I must say it was a véry positive experience!! It's a very tribal and new-age sounding album! You mostly have some Tribal drums to give a good rhytm and singing girls in all kind of languages... The first song sounds even too new-age imo. The second song is the best heren, (with 6). If you like Indian-music you'll like this... It's with a sitar and some kinda guitar and of course that magic female voice!! )) The 3d is véry chilled with almost no drums and once again with sitar & also with fluit... The 4th song is more normal Psy-Ambient, here you can feel it's made with a computer, you have some trancy back-ground melodies filled with singing people and once again those tribal drums... Nr 5 has the same recipe as nr 3&4 but it's longer and also a piano is used! 6 is also one my favourits here... véry long song that reminds me of the old RTTS-music... Background 303's, tribal drums, voices and a fast part ! in the middle of the song!! The last song is, as the name suggest, véry calm with no drums... in fact it's more an atmosphere as a song!! All together a very nice ambient-release that is still lively enough to stay awake! )) 7,5/10 (because all the songs have the same style) Bom Shankar
  8. Feuerhake - Excess All Areas Artist: Feuerhake Title: Excess All Areas Label: Free Form Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. 08'34" Glowing Nights 02. 07'01" Let's Take 03. 08'40" Gammelsvensk 04. 06'12" La Aurora 05. 07'29" Select 06. 08'57" Delight Express 07. 07'19" Bombay Blues 08. 06'48" Make Love! Review: The second CD of Feuerhake (aka Klangstrahler Project) and he evoluated since his last CD's... This CD is more dance-orientated, but for the morning hours... The style is a bit like Atmos, but his music is richer... 1st song is 100% morning-Trance with a soft & groovy beat and very mellow sounds and digeridoo-samples... The second song is the same style, but a little faster, AND with a terrible female-voice sample... (( 3d one is very groovy with tribal drums, but the sounds are too techno-ish imo!! Number 4 is a véry good and original, danceable song with a beautiful Spanish-guitar and trumpet... nr. 5 gives us more morning-trance with a good used (and mellow) guitar, nothing more is happening though... (( The 6st song is an Ambient-song with guitars, but I don't like it. Bombay Blues is danceable again, and as the name suggest the song is India-influenced... There are Tablas and Sitars in the song that give an exotic feeling... Nice one!! This CD ends with a bad ! song, sounds almost housy... If you are a Klangstrahler/Feuerhake-fan, buy it, otherwise you can better buy his former albums, cuz they were better for sure!! Only 2 standouts here, number 4&7!! All together 6/10. I must also say the cover of they first album was great, but this one is awful!! Bom Shankar.
  9. SUN Project - The Remixes Artist: SUN Project Title: The Remixes Label: Spirit Zone Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. 07'43" The Suburbs (SUN Project Rmx) 02. 08'23" Tribolus (Etnica Rmx) 03. 08'57" Spaceships And Spacepeople (Electric Universe Rmx) 04. 07'56" Slap (Original Rmx) 05. 08'19" Slap (Necton Rmx) 06. 07'09" Frisco Machines (Spirallianz Rmx) 07. 07'15" Frisco Machines (SUN Project Rmx) 08. 08'26" Space Dwarfs (Space Tribe Rmx) 09. 06'11" The Saw (SUN Project Hoellentrip Rmx) Review: I never was a big fan of Sun project, but I gave this CD a chance, because of the mixed classics... The first song is immediately boring stuff, typical Sun project style, always the same awfull bassdrums... The Etnica rmx of Tribolus give us back "Equator"-Etnica style, so véry soft morning-Trance, also the song is changed that much that it's hard to call it a RMX, only a few Tribolus sounds are left... After that the best song of this arrives, a véry spacy rmx of Spaceships & Spacepeople by Electric Universe!! He made of the ultimate night track the ultimate morning-track!! )) The track has a great building up and uses fine 303's and pianos... The only negative point is that the guitar of the original is almost gone (only background-noise...). After that you get 4 terrible songs imo, I don't wanne say much about them, simply (boring) Psy-Tekk (So some of you will like this part...) Then comes the long awaited Space Tribe RMX of Space Dwarfs, and I must say he did a ! great Job... The song became even more Twisted and has not as many ups and downs as the original, altough it's very recogniseable! The last song is also nothing special... Some Tribal effects and once again that typical, boring, Sun project Bassdrum. So I don't like this release very much, altough song 3 & 8 are véry good. 5/10 Bom Shankar
  10. V/A - Earth Breed - A Trance Journey Artist: Various Title: Earth Breed - A Trance Journey Label: Green Ant Date: 2000 Track listing: 01. 07'38" Tsinta : Panama 02. 08'25" Sugar : Freeky French Frie 03. 07'35" Fractal Glider : Goa Len (Rmx) 04. 07'25" Psyko Disko : CON 05. 08'31" Sugar : Magic Void 06. 08'46" Harmonic33 And Krusty : Bring On The Magic 07. 10'33" Masaray : Hammer Head 08. 12'10" House Of Pagan Christ : A Good Morning Drop Review: When i think on Trance+Australia I think on CRAZY music from psy-Harmonics, but there's more... Small labels like Green Ant release also good material, which is not all insane stuff... This compilation contains mostly somehow MODERN (no old-school) melodic style... !! Track 1 starts minimalistic with a hard bass but at the end we get a spacy melody and more flowding sounds, so it becomes somehow a morning song... The track title of 2 is véry cool, the number itself isn't unfortunately... it's véry sun-project style, the same bassdrums, but it has a good melodie at the end! Track 3 is thé KILLER!!! Fractal Glider rulez, wait for them album on Boom at the end of the year!! This song is véry twisted, somehow melodic & modern full on-Trance with smashing bassdrums... Great stuff! I don't like the Psyko Disko track... never liked them in fact, too monotome sounds! Number 5 is again Sugar track, but much better then number 2... it contains some great melodies that'll let yo! u dance all morning long!! Good stuff if you like (modern) melodic! track 6 is also not bad, but it's more old-school melodic style. The 7th track is véry weird, typical Australian style!! Not my cup of tea!! This song ends with a housy sounding slow tune that contains a guitar-melody. I do like this compilation (special nr 3!!!) I give it 7,5/10!! Bom Shankar
  11. V/A - The Call Of Shiva Artist: Various Title: The Call Of Shiva Label: Shiva Space Technology Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. Cosma : The Call Of Shiva 02. Luminus : 13 03. Lemurians : Kinich Ahau 04. Shivanauten : From Beyond 05. Psysex : Macumba 06. Lemurians : Neurotic 07. Analog Dream : Euphemistic Visions 08. Suntec : Stamp 09. Diablo : Pagan Review: When you look at the tracklist (DJ Jörg + Luminus, Psysex & Psychonaut) you would think this is a fast and uplifting CD, but that's completely wrong!! Most of the songs have a bpm of 140 or less. The whole compilation is dark, groovy and very psychedelic. But specially the first 6 songs are too slow in my opinion... Last 3 songs are a little better, but nothing stands out for me! The style of the whole compilation is the same, that's why it sounds more like an album. To be real honest this was my first dissapointment from SST, but I'm sure that people who like slow dark trance like Element or Diablo will like it alot! Best songs are 4,7,8 & 9. This Cd deserves a 6/10, but the ARTWORK is fantastic! One of the most beautiful cd-boxes I've ever seen!! Bom Shankar
  12. Space Buddha - Eternity Project Artist: Space Buddha Title: Eternity Project Label: Agitato Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. Real World 02. End Of Journey 03. Eternity Project 04. Solar Temple 05. In My Dreams 06. Future On Earth 07. Sand Drums 08. Silence For Ever Review: People who love Psy-Tekk, don't even read further, cuz this is a completely melodic album!! And unfortunately not a good one... When I first heard it at our Psy-shop I though it was ok, but when i heard at it at home I realized how many silly and simple melodies there were in the album... It's not Holymen style, but rather like Yahel-style... The first song is pretty good though... Heavy bassline and some simple but good melodies!! But after that it's going a little downhill every song... Only the third and number 8 are rather good, the rest is mediocre and not really what a Goa-lover should own... It's also all the same style!! I give this release a 5/10 now, but that will decrease when I listen more to it!! Bom Shankar

    V/A - Liquid

V/A - Liquid Artist: Various Title: Liquid Label: Tribe-Adelic Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. 06'33" Cosmo Squad : The Boom 02. 07'45" Talamasca : Friendly Quid 03. 07'37" Mr Peculiar : Charlie's Trip 04. 07'21" Space Fly : My Mind Alternating 05. 07'13" Fractal Glider : Witch Doctor 06. 08'15" Lestat And Matt : Ezekiel 07. 08'14" Fractal Glider And Benza : Ghost In The Shell 08. 06'40" Mr Peculiar : Pop A Cell 09. 08'13" Benza : Jusk Ask The Axis 10. 05'45" Orbit Constructions : Boundless Review: I bought this CD because Didg told me it would be my style... And he's right!! (Thanks!!) So, this is the first release of this new Australian label and it's full with not minimalistic full on-tracks... (a little like Boom!'s Electric Ohms)! The first song by Cosmo Squad starts véry Acid with many 303's, but at the end suddently guitars are coming in and they throw the song in a completely different direction... Good start!! The second song is a little too rythmic-orientated with a annoying high-hat... At the end it becomes more melodic (typical Talamasca) but not really good! Number 3 by Mr Peculiar is ok, but nothing more, also véry rhytmic with many effects, but a little soul-less... (but he gives us much better stuff at the end of the CD)! The Space Fly song is fast and véry good, lots of fast melodic effects and a cool break in the middle and véry crazy at the end!! Then we have my favourite by Fractal Glider!! Fast, pumping, new-style full on... Somehow you have GMS-scratching sounds in it but also flying melodies!!! Such a great song... i can't wait for their debute-album on Boom-records! Number 6 is also fast, but not really good imho... The song does not evoluate muc! h... The 7nd song is also Fractal Glider (with Benza) and I also like this one alot... It's typical Fractal Glider-style, altough it's even more twisted!! (thanks Benza!! )) The next song is again by Mr peculiar and I also like it alot, good bassline and many effects and hidden melodies... Works perfect when the night turns into day... Number 9 is by Benza and is véry twisted!! In the whole song you have a melodies going up and down... lovely insane Trance!! )) The last song is trippy Ambient with those lovely Alien-sounding melodies!! So all together the Cd is really good, in the beginning there are some mediocre songs, but after that... Woaww!! 7,5/10!! Bom Shankar
  14. V/A - Travelling 5 Artist: Various Title: Travelling 5 Label: Visionary Date: 1999 Track listing: CD 1 01. Sadie Glutz : Cosmic Phunk 02. X-Dream : Rain 03. Plasma Pleasure : Photon Tribe 09. Battle Of The Future Buddhas : Domestic Bliss 10. Chop More : Zui Ehomm Review: Not so cool compilation here... Altough it's the last Travelling there's missing alot! There are enough good songs on this CD, but the other ones are that bad you wanne run away!! The 1st CD is the best CD! Some famous standouts are nr 2,4,7!! And specially that RMX of Nostradamus is véry good, better as the original!! I also like the XIS song véry much, it's very uplifting with many fast 303's! But song 1 & 6 are simply TERRIBLE!! The second CD is really bad altough it starts ok with 2 well known songs... (I really like Space Dwarfs altough it sounds pretty cheesy...!!) then we have some awful goa-songs made with Rebirt or Rubber duck (they sound like that) till there song 9... YESSSS... It's still the best Goa-song EVER in my opinion, I can listen to that 1000 times without getting bored... In fact that song was why I bought this comp...!! Anyway, if you already have X-Dream's Rain and those other classics I should not buy this piece of plastic... I would give it 4/10! Bom Shankar
  15. It's pretty mediocre, nr1&2 are better for sure... The tracks are good mixed, but some tracks are cut really badly!! And some songs sound really Rebirth... 5/10 Bom Shankar

    V/A - Eskimo

The Peace Data song is one of the best minimalistic songs EVER!! This cd is full with harsh, dark and uplifting minimalistic Trance... Only the last two songs (8,9)are not uplifting at all and rather bad in my opinion!! 8/10 Bom Shankar
  17. V/A - Analog Reflections Artist: Various Title: Analog Reflections Label: Agitato Date: 2000 Track listing: 01. Alien Project : High Frequency 02. Mental Orange : Analog Reflections 03. Delirium : Full Moon 04. Mental Orange Vs Luminus : No More Nightmares 05. Luminus : Galaxy To Galaxy 06. Indica : Fly Me Over The Rainbow 07. California Sunshine : Coming Home 08. Power Course : Happy Pappy Review: Strange compilation... First of all 2 songs from this compilation were already on the last Agitato-compilation (Alien Nation) and secondly it's split up in 2 different parts... Anyway, about the music, the first track is actually good from one of those upcoming groups, good for the dancefloor with many cool sound-effects!! Number 2 & 3 are also rather minimal but something is missing in those songs... Somehow they sound like "wannabees"!! 4 is a good, uplifting and rather melodic song with some acid-influences, really jumpy!! Number 5 is typical (véry good) Luminus style with many melodies altough the first melodie sounds like it's ripped off from an AP song!! After that there are 2 softer melodic songs who don't do a shit with me, really flat!! Luckely the last one is a KILLER!! The same style as the very known "Goaway" but even with a deeper and more touching melodie... The kind of melodie where you can't hold your tears...!! Lovely!! All together not so cool compila! tion altough I must say you really NEED the last song!! 6/10 Bom Shankar
  18. Well, I thought this Cd was a little "flat"... Not enough depth! The songs have that typical warm, hypnotic Atmos-style, but there's no song (exept Klein Aber Doctor) that touches your soul!! And that's what we may expect from an artist as Atmos IMO... Best song is by far Klein Aber Doctor but I also dunno what that is doing on this cd... Other véry good song is "Random Landlord" Typical groovy Atmos-style and rather uplifting. But those two stand out for me... The Ambient track "Always in control" is also good, but other songs are mediocre. 6/10 Bom Shankar
  19. Parasence - Parasence Artist: Parasence Title: Parasence Label: Acidance Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. 06'35" Step Like This 02. 06'15" Black Sun 03. 07'21" Apple In Your Hand 04. 07'18" Who Is ?? 05. 07'26" Silence 06. 09'35" Mobile Love 07. 06'58" Incubat 08. 06'39" Element 09. 07'32" Arizone Dream Review: First Worldwide Released album from thé upcoming Russian group... I didn't like the Krakakot EP véry much, but here they show us WHY they will rule the Psy-scene in a few months...!! Yes, this is GREAT stuff!!!!! It blew me away like "The Gathering" blew me away almost 2 years ago... )) Anyway, here we go with track one, a real hypnotic and minimalistuc stormer with great bassline!! Track 2 is the best on the album imo!!! Hard bassline, insane melodies, many strange noises and véry fast (150 BPM) a real party stomper!! The best song I heard last months!!!! I Don't like number 3 véry much, there is a rather simple melody in it that works on my nerves... Number 4 is also not my cup of tea, too many experimental noises and a weird "double" beat!! But then we go on with killers... Number 5 is hypnotic and dark psy-trance for those night-hours... And so is number 6, altough we have more strange and insane noises there!! 7 is really cool, BUT, the bassline is way too soft, it sounds like there's no bassline at all, a pitty cuz with a hard bassline the song would have been another killer!! )) Song 8 is also fantastic dance-music and number 9... WOOW.... the start of this song sounds like HARDCORE/GABBER!! 155 BPM and a Hardcore-sounding bass with coll psy-trance effects on it... How would we call that?? Goa-Core?? Anyway, this sounds great at -8%!! So all together a MUST have!! Many killers on it and only 2 songs I don't like!! 8,5-9/10!!! Parasense, keep going!!!! BTW: Listen to this as hard as possible, it becomes even better then... Bom Shankar!!!

V/A - Interzone Artist: Various Title: Interzone Label: Interzone Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. Pulse : Good Morning 02. Paste : Bassliner 03. XV Kilist : Stampfers Schleiers 04. Smith : Disco 2000 05. Prime Time Plastix : Brett Pop 06. Amphiptere : Mutant 07. Bone : Hackers 08. Shai : Rattlechain Review: Here we have once again a new label, this time one from Suisse!! And they deliver us a véry minimalistic CD, sometimes even too minimalistic!! Most of the songs sound the same, fat bassline and very techno-ish psychedelic noises on that, and that for 7 minutes... Not really my style, too boring after all, specially that XV Killist song is BAD!! Normally it's one of the best Minimalistic groups, but this song is véry boring!! The best song is prime Time Plastix!! I think it's because of the golden hand of Daniel Vernuft (Shiva Chandra) => he knows how to make véry good minimalistic Trance... On a normal day this gets a 5/10, sometimes (when I'm in Minimalistic mood) a 6,5/10! Bom Shankar
  21. Yamabikaya - The Arrival Artist: Yamabikaya Title: The Arrival Label: Shiva Space Technology Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. Red Blood Thunder 02. Magnetic Entrance 03. Cosmic Immolation 04. Snail 05. Ecdysis 06. Magumadamaly 07. Oozy Humanoid 08. Arrival (Live Version) Review: The first "freestyle" CD from SST... And I expected something else as this... this is not really freestyle, this sounds like trance from Ausralia (Psy-Harmonics...) or Finland!! But it's less random then the Finnish Trance... And the strange part is that they are from Japan...??!! Anyway, I truly like the music, every song has many special and freaky melodies and every song has is own great bassline... This is one of the most listening-friendly CD's I have!! There's 1 song that is better then the others and that's number 3, it's a total killer...! That bassline is so deeeeep and those melodies so crazy and intense! I played it at a party a few weeks ago and believe me... that song works! So SST is a label with ups and downs (specially after that apalling "progressive"-CD) but this is an UP for sure!! For all you experimental and OOZY (Aussia??) Goodness-lovers... Check this out!! 8/10 Bom Shankar

Color Drops : Jazz Is Dead 06. Rastaliens : Bamboo Bola 07. Spiritual : Jalan Jalan 08. Bigwigs : Moc Paproci 09. Vacuum : Merygar Review: The first compilation from a new Italian label, and it's a very intersting start!! The first song is immediately dancefloor orientated and véry psychedelic stuff from one of those upcoming groups... But Parasense has also done better... Song 2 is also dark stuff with a véry powerfull bassline and many cool sound effects, but... the use of the famous "LLllSSSsssDDddd"-sample is not good at all!! The next song is a dissapointment!! This is boring stuff from Etnica... They tried to make more progressive stuff but they fail here (imo)! Song 4 is 100% GMS-style, so not innovative but good for dancing. Song 5 is truly a bomb... Although I don't understand the title!! We continue with the same dark style with a mediocre rastaliens song but after that you have the best 2 songs from this compilation!! Spiritual' song is rather slow, very rhytmic, dark but not really minimalistic and also pretty hypnotising!! Song 8 is even better!! It reminds me on "Trippin Trolls" on the "Psy! choactive Scandosounds 2" compilation!! But this song is even more hypnotising because of the weird but cool bassline!! This one is a killer! The last song is rather freestyle ambient/downtempo... All together a good debut with up to date trance that is not really minimal!! 7/10!! Bom Shankar

    Zoultan - Zoultan

Zoultan - Zoultan Artist: Zoultan Title: Zoultan Label: NMC Date: 1999 Track listing: 01. 06'45" Goa-99 02. 06'07" Climax 03. 07'23" Salvation 04. 06'29" Direction Of Time 05. 05'51" Mystery Of Sleep 06. 06'59" Next Universe 07. 08'13" Loco Legend 08. 07'20" New Prophecy 09. 07'27" Journey In My Head Review: A mediocre CD... This is typical morning-Trance from Israel, NOT cheesy, NO Nitzhonot, just old morning style with a more modern production!! Most of the songs start really cool with nice beats and hypnotic sounds, but most songs have an annoying "melodie" at the end... Specially the first song 1 get ruined by that, otherwise it would have been a great track!! Anyway, the best tracks are 2,3,4,5&6! If you like emotional Trance you should buy this (if you find it...) I give it 7/10!! Bom Shankar
  24. Spiritual High - Psychedelic Mindscapes Artist: Spiritual High Title: Psychedelic Mindscapes Label: Cycnonaut Date: 1999 Track listing: 01. 08'34" Vasilisk : 49 Days 02. 08'08" Puls! : Psy Beach Stomp 03. 08'35" Saros : Sundancer 04. 08'18" Bypass Unit : Nanosphere Courier 05. 07'06" Shadow Government : Poverty 06. 06'25" AMC : Nippon Nippel 07. 09'32" Traum-B : Infrasonic 08. 09'28" Synthetic Gravity Impact : Spheric Tension Review: This CD gives a chance to unknown artists to show us what they got in them... And some have a future (1,4,7&8) but the others... Noo... Song 1 is really nice though, melodic and fast and a song that seems to go on forever!! Song 2 and 3 sound bad, like they're made with Rebirth or something... But number 4 let you forget that misery!! The best song ever from Bypass Unit... Hard, fast, psychedelic and véry good! )) 5 is not good (bad bass) and after that we have 2 very nice morning tracks... I like them alot! But the last song is bad... So a compilation that can be nice for morning-trance lovers, but I can not really recommand it because it has to many ups and dawns... 5/10. Bom Shankar

Coda Review: A friend of me played a Vinyl from nervasystem some time ago when I was there and it was a véry nice song, so when I found this CD I didn't doubt! But... that was a mistake... This is a CD full with experimental Downtempo songs... This must be nice for listening when you're influence of drugs, cuz it's véry psychedelic. But there was not 1 song that could convince me. It all sounded too experimental and also too techno-ish sometimes... 2,5/10 Bom Shankar
