  1. I bought a Behringer mixer once. The quality was horrible - noisy like ... unbelievable. I checked with the store and they said, yeah, that's a problem with behringer.

And googling the behringer I also saw some say that it was noisy.

I am going to the states in two weeks. Guess I have to look into the m-audio solution. It's not out in Denmark yet ... :pissed:

  2. Thanks for the advice!

The reason I'm looking into a pc solution is due to practicality though. A pc and hardware I can fit in one bag.

Cd players and mixers + a bag of cds often requires a taxi and with the money I'm paid for playing I often don't find it worth the hassle. Besides when I am paid I can't spin psychedelia that much. Quality music I like, yes, but not music where it's essential to have lots of options.

On the other hand, I would like the pc solution to enable me also to spin trance.

How good is pc equipment at that?

Do I need to stick to the dj players? I seem to recall Nemo said he spinned from a pc and was quite happy

Anyway, thanks again for your advice. I will consider it. <_<

  3. The M-Audio solution looks really interesting. Affordable too if it's serious.

    Anyone has experience with it?

I can pay the necessary dough once but then it has to function as good dj equipment.

Of course I don't expect tons of dj chaos-pad etc options but it should be semi-heavy duty equipment.

The M-Audio solution lives up to these requirements

  4. It's not money that's the issue. It's that it's too much trouble to travel with two cd players plus mixer plus a bunch of cds to a party where I'm paid very little and can only play more regular non-psy music.

So I'd rather just have a small package, preferably a pc and some extra hardware that would do it for 2 cds and a mixer.

Someone has got to have invented that no

  5. I know this is considered sacrilegious by some but I'm looking for dj equipment to go with my pc.

What I'd really like is some software and sound card for my pc and some hardware that resembles 2x 1210 or DJ cd-players.

Has that been invented yet? I mean I really like to use 1210s or DJ cd-players but I can't be arsed anymore to bring all my stuff. It's too much damn work considering the close to nothing I'm being paid for playing.

If my hard ware suggestion has not been invented what's some good pc equipment that will allow me to use my pc as a dj tool?

I also need to buy a soundcard for my pc. My pc is 2 years old but wat top notch at the time. I expect it will still run with the latest equipment.

Hope this is enough to instigate some help :)

Appreciate any advice thanks ! :posford:

That's some serious music you're hauling in there DP <_<
  7. Hey I thought I would mention that we also have a nice little stockpile of music free to download on our site: www.area709.com. Once you are registered (there is no fee of course) you can nab mixes of a variety of genres: psytrance, psyprog, progressive (house/trance/breaks), downtempo, psydub, psydm, ambient, some atmospheric drum and bass. We have put a lot of love into those mixes, so feel free to dive in and enjoy!!

Nice!! Amazing pics!!! I am going to the man for the first time this year. I can't wait.
  8. Ultimae records is my favourite record label at the moment. Everything that comes out on Ultimae is very high quality music & I am always eagerly anticipating the next release from them. I just wish I owned the CDs for Season 5, Aftermath and Fahrenheit Project 3 & 4 then I could have the full set ;)

Anyway of the rest of Ultimae's releases I have collected my favourites & put them together in this mix.

Thanks to all the artists for making such fantastic music that I truly enjoy & too ultimae for bringing it to us

Found Season 5 in a 2nd hand store for 3 euros, completely mint. Think I creamed my bones

But yeah, the ultimate chill-out label. You HAVE to complete the collection. But after me please .. <_<

  9. I absolutely love my music with all of my heart, but I dont know if I would go as far as saying it is sacred. I dont beleive that anything made by man is sacred. And I also disagree with you saying that what I am doing is sacrilegious, just by cutting out some of the covers of my cds so that they can fit into my case. I dont create a religion out of psytrance or worship it like some do (not refering to you, just in general). And even though all of my cds are permanently in a case together, they are all in very good condition, with many being in mint condition.

No, I stand by my comment. SA CRI LE GIOUS -_-
  10. This is almost suntrip's second home, Mars and Anoebis are the managers so I find it quite biased that for 3 consecutive years we have a Suntrip release at number 1....

Anyway, it's still much better quality than tops at other sites.

Suntrip should advise people to not vote for their releases you mean
  11. Hmm ... I really SHOULD open my sealed copy one of these days. But I've heard the other SO releases and found that they only really get to me when I'm either really stoned or looking for music that sounds like nothing else I have.

Not sure what to do. But reviews everywhere praise this baby like crazy. Oh well, guess I'll live with it :P

  12. I bought this, spinned it a couple of times, gave it to a friend. :)

ROM and Paradox have great climaxes in my opinion but overall I'll pass.

    Oopie, I ... I love ... I love your avatar.

But your taste in music <_<

But your avatars ... I love them
