I think it's quite rare that artists mixes drum n bass with trance. But if you're looking for some dark drum n bass, there should be plenty. This album is very cool for instance: Technical Itch - Diagnostics http://www.discogs.com/release/6578 and you see on the discogs page, even if it's from 1999, it's still very cheap if you want to buy it.

Tuu - Invocation Miles Davis - In A Silent Way

Ok, this may be a very specific or weird request. But I'm hearing something in albums like Monolake - Gobi The Desert EP, Vladislav Delay - Naima and Joel Tammik - Eluline that I like. It's a very fee-form and abstract style on all those albums, very very focused on the texture of sounds, more so than structure. Can you think of anything else in this vein? I'd be happy to hear your ideas on this.
