I'm with you on this one sean, the agressive style of full-on has grown on me like a fungus. That's not to say that I dislike the other styles though. It's just another type of psy to desposit in my music bank :-X
-
I tried to like this album, but I couldn't. It's very percussive yet boring by being montonous, not very energetic, not unique. It's just a dull lump of an album imo. I want my money back.
-
Surprisingly, I like this album a lot. Almost all the tracks have a monotonous sound but I like what Ocelot does rhythmically with subtle synths.
-
Nuclear Ramjet - Operation Northwood This track doesn't have much of a melody at all. It's dark, moody, and repetative. I dont even like dark psy in general but something about this track is beautiful. It sounds like a mourning psy track. (Note: "mourning", not "morning").

Aww man. Now I'm dieing to hear this track. Do you have an idea when it will be available?

Experimental sounding minimal / chill?
TheCreamFilling replied to zee_werp's topic in General Psytrance
Bitstream makes really cool minimal/experimental/chillout. My favorite track by this guy is called "incubator". It's a minimal track where all the beat is blips and beats with no drums. It creates a really electronic atmostphere, like you're INSIDE a computer or something. -
J.Viewz – Muse Breaks (Deeplay Records, 2005)
TheCreamFilling replied to Frontier Psychiatrist's topic in 2005
Damn...this album is beaaauuutiful. My favorite tracks are "Under the Sun", "When Silent It Speaks", "Feeler", and the bonus track. I know a lot of people dont like the jazz elements in this album but I'm love it. My brother plays jazz around town all the time and I always hear jazz in my house so this disc was a welcome addition. I especially like how "clean" the production is, and how Jonathan Dagan added break-like elements similar to his work done as Violet Vision. -
Yeah, The Raver is a boring track imo. I like predictability in tracks, and if the track isn't "predictable" it should become predictable as you listen to it more and more an get to know it. Anyway, Slaphead and Pyscho Bitches are my 2 favorite tracks. Even though their direction is predictable, the melodies aren't, and the tracks have a lot of variation throughout their entire lengths.

....I thought this whole album was boring :- / It had a very mellowed out and smooth style (which is creative imo), but it didn't make me want to get up and dance or even nod my head.

Subsonik, you're as "childish" as you say I am since you keep responding. How about that? I'll leave this reply here to see if you now must be the one to have the last word, lol. I think it's funny how upset you seem. Relax. PS: you seem to not even understand you're own "argument", because the definition that you posted clearly refers to psychosis, hence my reference to psychos. I can keep doing this forever man, It only takes like 20 seconds to type up these messeges, and you seem so steamed. Take a chill pill.
-
Subsonik, I couldn't care less about my post count. Since you wanna pull definitions out. Lets discuss how you cant even interperet the definition you posted. Just because you have an altered state of awareness or "psychosis" doesn't mean you lose your ability to recal detail. As a matter of fact, most real psycho's have an accute ability to recal exactly what is wrong (what they think is right). Sooo...you posting that definition only backed me up. Since you're the one brought it up, who's the one with 90 posts? me? or you?

So, what do you mean by "dancy"?
-
Ormion, I LOVE haltya :-D Noone ever talks about them though :- \ Thanks for the additional suggestions guys. Could you please tell me what "nitzhonot" is please?
-
Infected Mushroom is my favorite artist of all time, so you are right. Have any other suggestions?
-
I think the only reason you think 4/4 makes the best dance music is because almost all music is written in 4/4 and you're used to it.
-
I'm looking for "happy" and "fluffy" psy that a lot of you seem to hate. please tell me some names of artists who make happyfluffyclub psytrance please
-
WHAT? So, what you're basically saying is the following: the more coherent the melody, the less like psytrance it is. Umm. Where did you get this idea from man? Granted, so many of the shitty ass released that have come out this year all sound the same, are practically melodyless, and are mostly dark, one might get that impression. 3 years ago there was a lot more melodic psy, not this boring stuff that sounds like someone layed out a bassline then rolled around on their synth (which seems to be all the rage right now). Since you can't usually pick out a psytune, what does that tell you? It should tell you that most of the psy-artists today have no unique qualities, and are all putting out the same stuff. I agree with you on not being able to tell the difference between so much psy, that's why it bothers the hell out of me. Anyway, I thought this album was awesome because it was original. Not only was it original, but I liked it too!

What other artists are like Infected Mushroom?
TheCreamFilling replied to TheCreamFilling's topic in General Psytrance
I happen to have this album, and I dont think it's like IM (I'm the original thread author) I really like The Misted Muppet - From the Legend, but not in the same way that I like Infected Mushroom. From the Legend is dark and has really original and creative ambience, but there's hardly any climaxes because the music is pretty much the same intensity for the entire duration of each track. or hard melodies to give me goosebumps and get my heart pumping like IM's music. As a matter of fact, I think my favorite track on the album is the first one, entitled Defender of the Past, which is a 2 minute ambient/chillout style track with a strong melody lead by a piano. Beautiful little track, but now I'm talk'n about a whole nother genre of music, lol. -
One thing I've noticed about my my favorite tracks by IM is that they all have VERY distinguishable melodies. Tracks like Dancing with Kadafi, Bust a Move, Shawkawkaw, Prehistoric Goa Mood, etc... I want suggestions for another artist that uses melody some promenantly, BUT hold on, don't go throwing out suggestions yet . Often when I ask people this question, I get a list of artists that are supposedly "melodic", but when I listen to their music, either all the tracks are just rythems with a few melodies thrown in that are too fast paced to even recognize, or are just thrown into the track for shits and giggles (it seems). This isn't an "i love infected mushroom" thread, I just want to use them as a reference point for suggestions. Often times, it SEEMS as though IM uses the melody to build a song, not the beat, which may be the reason they are so.....distinguishably melodic. Thanksfor the help.

Hey all, does anyone know of any OTHER music by the artist named "Feedel"? This artist has a track called "Cup of Water" on the Life is Creation compilation album and I've always thought it is a beautiful track. The problem is that I can't find any information about this artist. Anyone got any helpful info?
